- Stuart J. Prowse was born in 1975 in Edgware, North London. Always a shy boy acting was something he avoided like the plague while growing up. It wasn't until he hit 30 in 2005 that the acting bug took its first bite. With life experience in dead end and unfulfilling jobs. (Postman, Door to salesman, warehouse assistant. And lastly an Electrician.) it seemed to the young man that his life was going nowhere, unsatisfied and depressed. It took a chance encounter with the movie world to make him realise that it was indeed possible to be an actor. Hearing on the grapevine about open auditions for Batman Begins (2005) in Bedford Stuart jumped at the chance even though the thought of performing terrified him. But it was a fear born of excitement and the seed was planted. Taking two friends to the auditions with him Stuart was the only one that received a call back. Unfortunately though Batman wasn't to be. But the feeling of being called back was enough to give him the confidence to try and find other roles. Before the Batman movie Stuart had never considered using the Internet to find acting roles, but the bug had taken hold, and a quick web search led him to StarNow.com which he joined, and despite no previous acting training, started applying for roles. To his surprise the very first movie he applied for he got. A role as an extra in the Dominic Lees barely seen London thriller Outlanders (2007) 4 days on a building site shooting a movie was definitely more exciting then any days actually working for real on building sites. Inspired by the experience Stuart wanted more, and wanted a taste of actually acting rather then being background. He applied for a student short 'Key To A Mind' The director (Oliver Vorona) contacted him and asked if he was willing to shave off his long hair, as he needed a double for the lead actor Alex Kunzelmann who was bald. Figuring it was only hair and it will grow back. Stuart agreed. Thereby landing the duel roles of the lead actors double and a Thug. After Key To A Mind the requirement of cutting off his hair landed him his next role. (and the biggest to date) when he was among 100 extras picked for V for Vendetta (2005) (Starring Oscar winning actress Natalie Portman ) he only played a solider in that, but he was chuffed to bits to be involved. So he kept applying and kept landing other roles. However his career was short lived. he couldn't commit to the film world fully back then, what with a pregnant partner and bills to pay he had no choice but to return to the day job. After only a handful roles he gave up the dream.
Fast forward to 2010. The recession had hit the building trade hard and Stuart was one of many casualties, however unlike many people in the trade. It wasn't all he knew, and it wasn't all he wanted to be. The acting bug bit again, and this time he was going to commit 100% and take it as far he could possibly take it. The dedication is paying off. As of 2011 he now has various roles under his belt. It may be a struggle to stay afloat with non paid acting jobs, but the experiences and the contacts made are making it all worthwhile. With an agent secured and a show reel finally coming together. Stuart's career can only go up from here.- IMDb Mini Biography By: Stuart J. Prowse
