McCanna Anthony “Mac” Sinise, a musician and son of actor Gary Sinise, died on Jan. 5 following a battle with a rare spinal cancer called Chordoma. He was 33.
The CSI: NY actor shared the news of his son’s death on his Instagram and his foundation’s website Tuesday, where he wrote a heartfelt tribute.
“The week the album [Resurrection & Revival] went to press, Mac lost his battle with cancer,” Gary wrote. “He died on January 5, 2024 at 3:25pm, and was laid to rest on January 23rd. Like any family experiencing such a loss, we are heartbroken and have been managing as best we can. As parents, it is so difficult losing a child. My heart goes out to all who have suffered a similar loss, and to anyone who has lost a loved one. We’ve all experienced it in some way. … I am so blessed, fortunate, and proud to be his dad.

If you've heard about "Night Swim" and its haunted swimming pool concept, your first reaction might have been to wonder whether something had gone horribly awry over at Blumhouse and Atomic Monster. Producers James Wan and Jason Blum are horror juggernauts, after all, and a film about an evil swimming pool initially seems to have a lot more in common with retro low-budget horror schlock like "Amityville Death Toilet" or "Death Bed."
But even minimal research into this upcoming horror effort from first-time director Bryce McGuire reveals something altogether more serious. Based on the filmmaker's 2014 short film of the same name, "Night Swim" follows an increasingly successful formula of transforming horror shorts into fully-fledged features. 2022's surprise hit "Smile," for instance, was based on the short "Laura Hasn't Slept," while the best horror movie of the last decade, "Skinamarink," started life as a 28-minute, criminally underseen YouTube video entitled "Heck.

“Killing Michael Jackson,” a one-off documentary that explores the circumstances around the death of the global pop icon, has been picked up by Discovery for its channels in international territories including the U.K. and Germany.
Discovery Networks will also run the one-hour documentary on its channels in Italy and the Nordics. In the U.K. it will play on its Quest Red free-to-air service. Jackson fans mounted a high-profile campaign and protested outside British broadcaster Channel 4’s headquarters in March ahead of its broadcast of “Leaving Neverland,” the controversial documentary about alleged sexual abuse by the late pop superstar.
“Killing Michael Jackson” features three U.S. detectives – Orlando Martinez, Dan Myers, and Scott Smith – who were part of the original investigation into the singer’s death in 2009. Doctor Conrad Murray, who was jailed for the involuntary manslaughter of Jackson, also features.
The documentary comes from U.K. indie producer Zig Zag.
