While 2016 has been filled with numerous celebrity deaths, the recent and tragic passing of actress Carrie Fisher has hit the world particularly hard. Best known for her role as Princess Leia in the Star Wars franchise, her death was felt around the world, with an outpouring of grief coming from her many fans and colleagues.
Though Fisher was (without a doubt) a particularly important figure in the world of film and television, her work in video games is far less noteworthy. For the most part, she chose not to lend her voice to any projects, with one of the sole exceptions being the newly recorded lines of dialogue for Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
However, it turns out that Fisher recorded a handful of lines for the first Dishonored game as well, which was released back in 2012. As reported by Glixel, her voice can be heard depending on...

The latest trailer has been released for Arkane Studios’ Dishonored 2 ahead of its launch next week, this time taking an in-depth look at co-protagonist Corvo and why the studio decided to give the assassin his own voice in the stealth RPG sequel.
Set 15 years after the events of the first game, Corvo’s primary concern this time around is protecting his daughter Emily, who has seen fit to follow in her father’s footsteps by becoming an assassin.
Due to the way in which Dishonored 2‘s narrative is structured this time around and the close relationship shared by its two playable characters, Arkane has taken the opportunity to give Corvo his own voice.
“He’s seen a lot and is still facing these crazy threats to the throne and to the empire,” says director Harvey Smith in the video, before adding that the developer simply “wanted to see what Corvo felt like with a voice.

Corvo and Emily Kaldwin proved to be the central stars of Dishonored 2‘s E3 demonstration, as Bethesda and developer Arkane Studios drew attention to the sequel’s dual protagonist system.
For the first in the stealth series, both lead characters will be fully voiced which, according to Dishonored 2 Creative Director Harvey Smith, adds an immediacy and sense of “warmness” that was perhaps missing from the 2012 original.
Considering that Arkane’s follow-up will feature the voices of Sam Rockwell, Rosario Dawson and Vincent D’Onofrio in supporting roles, there’s no question that the studio has gone all-in with its plans to flesh out the world of Dunwall.
Speaking with GameSpot, here’s what Smith had to share about the new additions:
“We did no voice for Dishonored 1; it was Ok, you can do it. But then we experimented with the Dlc, giving Daud a voice. It was crazy how useful it was as a developer.

This Morning users thought they saw Eamonn Holmes telling a producer where to stick it today (July 23).
The veteran presenter appeared to flick the 'V' sign at a producer offscreen during a segment on ITV, a gesture that seemingly went unnoticed by his guests and wife Ruth Langsford.
Sadly, the incident was apparently just Holmes engaging in some technical speak with his producers, and he just happened to have a grumpy face on, or so he says.
He explained: "Apparently because of the way the interview was shot, you picked up on a bit of studio language going on, and apparently people mistaking and not understanding... technical jargon.
"And me doing this [gestures with two fingers], that means camera two, and this means two [people] on a two, just to put you out of your misery if you're wondering and thought it was something more Harvey Smith inclined... and we've now got two on a [camera] four.

It was a welcome trend seen across numerous games during E3; that of the playable female protagonist. From Horizon Zero Dawn to Keiji Inafune’s intriguing Xbox One exclusive ReCore, developers are finally beginning to open up the playing field to create a more balanced, gender-neutral industry – even if there are some big steps still to take.
Nevertheless, it’s interesting to track, and one studio aiming to shake up its own storytelling formula is Arkane, who has promoted Emily Kaldwin from a typical damsel in distress from the first game into a bona fide lead for Dishonored 2. Taking place a full 15 years after its acclaimed predecessor, Arkane’s sequel will have players choose between Emily and Corvo quite early on.
Talking in an interview with Mashable, here’s what Co-Director Harvey Smith had to offer about the branching narrative.

Home to the Oscars, Bethesda held its first ever E3 press conference at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles Sunday night. COO and vice-president of Bethesda Softworks, Pete Hines was the designated host of the evening. Unfortunately, there was little surprise on the games announced. Fallout 4 was revealed a week ago, Doom got a teaser trailer a few weeks prior, announcing its presence at E3 and Dishonored 2 was accidentally leaked during a live stream event a day before things kicked off. None the less, the event was still hotly anticipated. So let’s kick things off, and reveal the games announced.
