David B's Epileptic will be adapted into an animated film.
The French project will be released under the graphic novel's original title L'Ascension du Haut Mal (The Rise of the High Evil).
"The tonic-clonic seizures of one child are going to shatter the life of an entire family, who, throughout the '70s clings onto all the false hopes offered by magnetism and macrobiotic communities," reads the film's description.
"Their epic battle with epilepsy nourishes an extraordinary imaginary world that each one throws onto reality as a lifebelt."
The celebrated 1996-2003 comic series by David B (real name Pierre-François Beauchard) concerns the cartoonist's family life and his brother's severe epilepsy.
Christophe Gérard directed the adaptation.
Inspired: 'Early Earth's Isabel Greenberg on Epileptic
The Epileptic film is yet to announce its release details.

Britdoc has unveiled a new fund open to independent documentary filmmakers across Europe – and revealed the first two recipients.
Britdoc Circle, supported by individual European philanthropists, has been created to supplement existing international grantmakers, state funds and broadcast partners with the same interests.
Founding members include Sam Roddick, the founder of UK ‘erotic emporium’ store Coco de Mer, and Swedish producer Cristina Ljungberg, who are now looking to bring new partners from across Europe into the group.
Roddick, the daughter of Body Shop founders Anita and Gordon Roddick, said: “The best documentaries challenge us to see the world differently and think the world differently. I’m proud to be supporting this essential community of artists, filmmakers and journalists. ”
Ljungberg, who has been active in documentary since 2005 as part of the team behind The Devil Came on Horseback, said: “Learning from best practice in the Us, we know individual funders can play a hugely constructive role in supporting...

The voice actor Eric Ladin who played Cole in Infamous 2 earlier reported he was back at work in motion capture suits playing Cole but not for Infamous 3. So at that point everyone assumed that he was playing Cole in the new PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale. Now Ladin may have just outed two more characters through twitter Nathan Drake and Solid Snake.
As you can see in the tweet above he points out he is working with Nolan North and David B Hayter who are the voice actors for Nathan Drake and Solid Snake respectively. However, this story was originally posted by IGN earlier today and I can’t post a link to the actual tweet, because it has been pulled down.
However, I can post you to a link on IMDb where both actors are listed as playing Nathan Drake and Solid Snake in the game. Even though this isn...
