After taking the stage in a housedress and, at one point, swinging his cane like a baseball bat at a Massachusetts holiday weekend screening of Jaws, Richard Dreyfuss went on to deliver a rant described by attendees as transphobic, sexist and homophobic.
“This was disgusting,” posted one attendee on the Facebook page of The Cabot theater in Beverly, Massachusetts. “How could the Cabot not have vetted his act better. Apparently (I found out too late), he has a reputation for spewing this kind of racist, homophobic, misogynistic bullcrap.”
The incident occurred on Saturday night prior to the film screening. In a brief YouTube video taken by an audience member, Dreyfuss can be seen walking onto the stage for a Q&a wearing a floral print dress and shaking his hips in a mocking way.

Donald Trump defended comments he made last week where he said he wanted to be a dictator if re-elected but only on “Day One” in office.
Trump began by complaining that Peter Baker of The New York Times wrote an article referencing his comments. “[Peter] Baker today in the New York Times said that I want to be a dictator,” the former president said Saturday night at the New York Young Republican Club’s 111th Annual Gala. “I didn’t say that. I said I want to be a dictator for one day.

About halfway through Nia DaCosta's new superhero film "The Marvels," Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) takes her new super-powered compatriots Monica (Teyonah Parris) and Kamala, a.k.a. Ms. Marvel (Iman Vellani) to a distant planet called Aladna, a blissful ocean-covered paradise overseen by the ultra-handsome Prince Yan (Park Seo-joon). Aladna is in trouble and Captain Marvel has come to warn the Prince of an approaching supervillain. The good Captain also failed to mention to her companions that she is, in fact, married to Prince Yan, making her a very famous member of this planet's royal lineage.
The joke about Aladna is that its citizens speak only in song. All of their conversations seem to be presented in rhyming couplets and are set to music that bleeds in from the walls whenever they wish to start speaking. Yes, Captain Marvel sings her intentions to Prince Yan. Indeed, the entire introductory...

As Jimmy Durante once noted, “Everybody wants to get into the act!”
That was evidenced by disturbances at Manchester, UK’s Palace Theater Friday night, where unruly patrons wouldn’t stop singing along with the musical “The Bodyguard,” according to a report by Sky News.
Police were called to the theater, resulting in the show being stopped 10 minutes before the end. Some audience members were reportedly “singing over the lead during the final song.”
Two people were removed from the venue, Greater Manchester Police said, and charges are being decided.
“Officers were called to the Palace Theatre last night after staff reported a number of people in the audience causing a disturbance,” a spokesperson said. “Two people removed by security staff were spoken to by police and a decision about any further action will be made once the evidence has been reviewed.”
The removal at the end was the second such incident on the night.

US one sheet for Our Daily Bread.Though he was a name-above-the-title director back in the day and made some of the enduring classics of American cinema, the great Hollywood director King Vidor is no longer remembered as Hollywood royalty. The son of a Hungarian immigrant, Vidor made some 50 feature films over the course of 40 years, was nominated five times for the Academy Award for Best Director (in 1979 he was finally awarded an Honorary Oscar), and some of his films—The Crowd (1928) and Hallelujah! (1929) in particular—are die-hard masterpieces. Starting today, New York’s Film at Lincoln Center will be showing 20 of Vidor’s features in an attempt to redress the balance and revitalize his reputation. It is the first major US retrospective of his work since “Rediscovering King Vidor” ran at the Public Theater in 1994, on the 100th anniversary of his birth..Restlessly exploring multiple genres, working from the...

Check out the trailer that debuted in Hall H.
The Hollywood Reporter said during the panel discussion:
Johnson tackled an age-old question: who would win in a fight, Black Adam or Superman? Earlier in the week, rumors circulated that Man of Steel actor Henry Cavill might show up or send a video message for the panel, but that didn’t come to fruition.
Said the actor of a matchup between the DC characters: “Pound for pound, they are pretty close. I guess it probably all depends on who is playing Superman.
