Heartbreak High‘s first season ended with Harper and Amerie reconciling after sorting out their year-long differences. The reasons behind the misunderstandings were forgiven, and as they moved towards another year at Hartley High, plenty of old memories resurfaced that were painful and triggering at the same time. The second season of the show is all about the new route their friendship takes and if new romantic relationships are in cards for Amerie and Harper. Season two of this popular Australian Netflix original, Heartbreak High, was released on 11th April 2024, on the streaming platform.
Just like the first season, Heartbreak High has eight episodes this time around too, with forty- to fifty-minute-long episodes that are about the school kids and the details of their intimate lives. Season two again mirrors Sex Education and Sex and the City, shows in which the leads discuss the details of their romantic lives inside...

Netflix’s “Sex Education” is in session for one last season. Otis Milburn (Asa Butterfield), Maeve Wiley (Emma Mackey), Eric Effiong (Ncuti Gatwa) and more return for the fourth and final installment of the heartwarming and intimate dramedy series. The Moordale Secondary School crew face a whole new school year at Cavendish College, where most of them have transferred after the shut-down of their previous stomping grounds, run into the ground by Jemima Kirke’s Headmistress Hope Haddon.
While Otis, Eric, Viv, Jackson, Ruby, Aimee, Isaac and more have to navigate a new social scene at Cavendish, Maeve is across the pond in America taking a fancy writing seminar class. Adam Groff (Connor Swindells) has left school completely. Unfortunately, some staple characters from previous seasons such as Anwar Bakshi (Chaneil Kular) and Olivia Hanan (Simone Ashley) or Ola Nyman (Patricia Allison) and Lily Iglehart (Tanya Reynolds) won’t return this season,...

Warning: contains spoilers for Sex Education seasons 1-4
The first series of Netflix teen drama Sex Education came out so long ago – in January 2019, pre-Covid, aka The Before Times – that it’s hard to remember a baby Otis and Eric turning up at their first day of sixth form. But even on day one, Ncuti Gatwa as Eric foreshadowed just how big a journey the characters would go on throughout the show’s four series, telling Otis (Asa Butterfield): “We shall transform from lowly caterpillars into… awesome killer whales?”
Back then, Eric was one of the only two gay people in his year, and he was constantly bullied, literally being pushed up against the lockers and called a “f**” in the first episode, as if the show was trying to win a full house in Stereotypical High School Drama Bingo. Later in the series, he’s the victim of a drive-by gay bashing,...

[Editor’s Note: The following review contains spoilers for “Sex Education” Season 4, including the ending.]
“Sex Education” does not end with a graduation. The finale isn’t centered on a wedding or a death. Laurie Nunn’s Netflix import has long eschewed traditional genre labels (like “teen comedy” or “high school drama”), fitting snugly within its own sweet and inquisitive, challenging and enlightening depiction of our peak hornt years of adolescence — so why not do away with rote landmark moments, too? Rather than force any resolutions upon its characters, as so many TV shows choose to build toward over their final seasons, the eight-episode kicker excavates emotional closure for Otis (Asa Butterfield), Maeve (Emma Mackey), Eric (Ncuti Gatwa), Adam (Connor Swindells), Jackson (Kedar Williams-Sterling), Aimee (Aimee Lou Wood), Jean (Gillian Anderson), and many more.
For a show preaching the benefits of talk therapy, could it have gone any other way?
Likely not, though as the eighth episode’s last shot drifts away from Otis,...

Netflix released first-look images for “Sex Education” Season 4 on Wednesday, as the final episodes of the acclaimed series are set to debut on Sept. 21.
As previously announced, the high school dramedy will end after its fourth installment. The pictures hint at what’s to come for the beloved ensemble cast as they transition from Moordale Secondary — which was shut down last season — to Cavendish Sixth Form College.
Otis (Asa Butterfield) faces the challenge of re-establishing his sex therapy clinic at a school that is way more progressive than Moordale was. The show’s official logline summarizes life at Cavendish as “daily yoga in the communal garden, a strong sustainability vibe and a group of kids who are popular for being… kind?!”
Academic overachiever Viv (Chinenye) finds the college’s student-led, non-competitive approach bewildering. Jackson Marchetti (Kedar Williams-Stirling) still holds heartbreak over Cal (Dua Saleh), and Aimee (Aimee Lou Wood) takes...

Exclusive: Sex Education’s Connor Swindells said he felt privileged to land the lead role in the stonking BBC One WW2 desert warfare drama Sas Rogue Heroes, and he praised director, Tom Shankland (The Serpent) “for considering me for this, because this isn’t something that comes my way.”
The six-part drama, written and created by Peaky Blinders’ Steven Knight and from Kudos, is based on Ben Macintyre’s 2016 bestselling authorized wartime history of the Sas.
Swindells, proudly working-class, said that he was apprehensive about auditioning for the part of David Archibald Stirling, a Scots Guard officer and scion of a grand Scottish family with bloodlines stretching back on his mother’s side to King Charles II, and son of a WW1-decorated army general.
“I hadn’t been in those conversations for these types of roles, and it was really Tom Shankland that championed me so much. He really...

The relationships are more complicated than ever.
Sex Education Season 3 Episode 1 put many relationships to the test, throwing surprising curveballs at the audience, as well as the show's signature humor.
It was the perfect return to the wonderful world of Moordale, where sex appears to be on the mind of everyone.
We'll start with Otis because the show seems to think he's the lead character, even if he's one of the most frustrating.
Otis having sex with Ruby was a true shocker because there were no breadcrumbs to suggest this would happen, but it was an interesting way to propel Otis forward as a character.
Host: She wrote this book in response to working on campus at Moordale Secondary, which got some pretty bad press recently following a chlamydia outbreak, and the performance of a so-called Sex Musical. So, Dr. Milburn, tell us about the book.
Jean: Well, I was...

While change awaits the students of Moordale Secondary in Sex Education‘s third season, some of the biggest transformations are linked to personal growth, particularly for Ncuti Gatwa‘s Eric Effiong and Aimee Lou Wood’s Aimee Gibbs. Both are coming to terms with events from the past season. Eric is settling into his relationship with Adam Groff (Connor Swindells) as Aimee’s grappling with the impact of her assault-related trauma and its effect on her relationships. Below, the stars preview what viewers can expect from their Season 3 journeys. An Update on Eric and Adam (Credit: Sam Taylor/Netflix) “We’re seeing them make a go of things and genuinely love and care for each other, but they are trying to figure out how they can grow [together] because they’re in very different places,” Gatwa says of Eric and Adam’s relationship when the season picks up. Although their path has been anything but conventional,...

The second season of Sex Education premiered on Jan. 17 and, just like the first, nothing is off limits. The Netflix series tackles topics relating to sexuality and identity that are often watered down for television or ignored entirely, and uses honesty and humor to thrust them into the spotlight. From sexual assault, to anal douching, asexuality, and how religion relates to the Lgbtq+ experience, all topics are approached thoughtfully, and in a way that's not often shown on screen.
Unlike many TV shows in the dramedy genre, Sex Education never box ticks for the sake of it, yet the show is unquestionably inclusive. The show's creator and writer, Laurie Nunn, crafted an ensemble of characters that are layered and intersectional, and most importantly believable. One character this is especially true for, is Eric (Ncuti Gatwa).
This season, Eric dates the new boy at school, Rahim, but at the same time they're falling in love,...

The MTV Movie & TV Awards returned to television Monday, with host Zachary Levi and a number of pop culture favorites.
Dominating this year’s nominations with four apiece were front runners “Avengers: Endgame,” which took home the evening’s best movie award, and “Game of Thrones,” which won best show. The Oscar-nominated documentary “Rbg” also scored four nods but was overtaken by the evening’s best documentary winner “Surviving R. Kelly.”
This year’s show also featured three new categories: reality royalty (“Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta”), most meme-able moment (“The Bachelor”) and best real-life hero (Ruth Bader Ginsburg) in addition to the show’s new tradition — started in 2017 — which refrains from separating nominees by gender.
Additionally, Dwayne Johnson was honored with the Generation Award, and Jada Pinkett Smith took home the Trailblazer Award.

For more than two decades these kudos only considered achievements on the big screen, but in 2017 TV shows were added to the mix. MTV has been giving out their fan-voted Golden Popcorn trophies since 1992, when James Cameron‘s blockbuster “Terminator 2: Judgment Day” was awarded Best Movie. For more than two decades these kudos only considered achievements on the big screen, but in 2017 TV shows were added to the mix. Now there are separate categories for Best Movie, Best Performance in a Movie, Best Show and Best Performance in a Show, while other categories mix all achievements together.

“Ruth Bader Ginsburg leads the MTV Movie and TV Awards nominations” was not a sentence I expected to write today or ever, but indeed she does. The documentary about her life and career, “Rbg,” has a field leading four nominations, which ties it with “Avengers: Endgame” and “Game of Thrones” as the top contender at these kudos, which will air on Monday night, June 17, at 9:00pm Eastern and Pacific.
“Endgame” earned bids for Best Movie, Best Hero (Robert Downey Jr.), Best Villain (Josh Brolin) and Best Fight (Chris Evans vs. Brolin). That’s one more nomination than “Infinity War” received last year: that movie was up for Movie, Villain and Fight, but didn’t win anything. Marvel was still well represented, though, as “Black Panther” was the 2018 champ for Best Movie. The first “Avengers” won three awards including Best Movie, so this would be a nice bookend for the franchise.

With four nods each, HBO’s “Game of Thrones,” Marvel’s “Avengers: Endgame” and Magnolia Pictures’ “RBG” are tied for most nominations at the 2019 MTV Movie & TV Awards.
The final season of “Game of Thrones” is nominated for Best Show for the third year in a row, along with Best Hero for Maisie Williams as Arya Stark, Best Fight for Arya Stark vs. the White Walkers and Best Performance in a Show for Emilia Clarke as Daenerys Targaryen.
“Avengers: Endgame” followed suit, with nominations for Best Movie, Best Fight, some love for Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man with a Best Hero nod, and Josh Brolin as Thanos getting a shout-out for Best Villain.

Two of this year’s biggest pop-culture entities, “Avengers: Endgame” and “Game of Thrones,” led the 2019 MTV Movie & TV Awards nominations.
This year’s show will feature three new categories: reality royalty, most meme-able moment, and best real-life hero. And continuing the precedent set in the 2017 show, the awards will not separate nominees by gender.
Marvel’s box office behemoth “Avengers: Endgame” dominated on the film front with four nominations, including best movie. The Oscar-nominated documentary “Rbg,” a touching non-fiction film about Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, nabbed four nods: best movie, most meme-able moment, best fight, and real-life hero.
HBO’s “Game of Thrones” led the way for TV with four nominations. The final season of the fantasy epic was recognized for best show, best hero (Maisie Williams as Arya Stark), best performance (Emilia Clarke as Daenerys Targaryen), and best fight (Arya Stark vs. the White Walkers).

Netflix’s breakout comedy series “Sex Education” features a cast of young adult actors performing a wide array of different simulated sex acts, so it was essential for series creator Laurie Nunn to have an intimacy coordinator on the crew from the beginning in order to both ease nerves and guarantee appropriate behavior on set. One of the first things the coordinator had to do was break the ice among the actors, which was achieved through a rather unusual cast workshop.
As revealed in the featurette below, the “Sex Education” cast was assigned to watch videos of animals’ mating rituals, from slugs to lions, cats, dogs, and more. “We watched those, and then when we had a workshop the next day and we spent the afternoon replicating the aforementioned rituals on chairs and on walls,” said Emma Mackey, the breakthrough actress who plays high school rebel Maeve Wiley in the series.
