Peter is a 21-year veteran of full-time law enforcement, 16 of which
has been as a commissioned city police officer in various communities
ranging in population from 5,000 to 60,000 in Washington State.
During his time in the U.S. Army, Peter worked Military Police law enforcement duties to include municipal policing of a community of soldiers nestled in San Juan, Puerto Rico, where in those days, the sporadic rattle of gunfire was often the rule instead of the exception. He then transferred to a Highway Patrol unit known as "The Stormtroopers," working under the big skies and on the desert roads of White Sands Missile Range and U.S. 70 in New Mexico.
Having spent time in various divisions of the law enforcement field, including (but not limited to) patrol, supervision, detectives, undercover narcotics investigations, homicide investigations and advanced collision investigations, Peter is a state certified law enforcement instructor, Field Training Officer, Hostage Negotiator, Collision Investigator, and a Marine/Boating Officer, currently working as a patrol sergeant.
Though patrol will always be his first love, his 21 years on the streets have exposed him to a wide range of events, opportunities, and critical incidents. His constant affection for writing has not only been an asset in his law enforcement career, but more recently has begun to manifest itself in other ways, including fiction, screen writing, and pre- and post-production law enforcement consultation.
With a background in broadcasting and what has been described as a "unique baritone", Peter also has extensive history in voiceover and broadcast work to include promos, radio commercial copy and production, live radio and TV broadcasts, and public service announcements.
