- Lawrence Smith, Roslyn, New York, is an actor (SAG), producer (PGA), and was the President & CEO of Mad Riot Entertainment. In 2014, he co-founded Mad Riot with acclaimed producer Mark Canton ("300", "300: Rise of an Empire", "Den of Thieves," and the STARZ original series "Power").
Lawrence was born in Brooklyn, NY, and currently resides in Roslyn Harbor, NY. With over 20 years of Wall Street experience, Lawrence transitioned into the entertainment industry by consulting on Wall Street-themed major studio films.
He appeared in films directed by Oliver Stone, Darren Aronofsky, Taylor Hackford, and Martin Scorsese, most notably alongside Leonardo DiCaprio in "The Wolf of Wall Street." Lawrence worked with Scorsese for a second time in the Netflix Original film, "The Irishman" playing Teamster enforcer "Louis," opposite Robert De Niro. Lawrence previously shared the screen with De Niro in "The Comedian."
As a producer, he worked on high-profile productions starring Robert De Niro, Leslie Mann, Jennifer Aniston, Harvey Keitel, Edie Falco, Danny DeVito, and Vera Farmiga. Lawrence also worked with Maven Pictures on the critically acclaimed film, "The Kindergarten Teacher," starring Maggie Gyllenhaal, "Human Capital," starring Liev Schreiber and Marisa Tomei, and the Academy Award-winning short film "Skin."
Lawrence is a member of the Producers Guild of America (PGA), Screen Actors Guild (SAG), and American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA) and served on the SAG Awards Nomination Committee. - Lawrence Smith, Roslyn, NY, plays a stockbroker in Martin Scorsese's "The Wolf of Wall Street", which is about Stratton Oakmont, a brokerage firm he actually worked for in 1994. He is the only authentic Stratton Oakmont broker to play a broker in the film.
- Lawrence is Executive Producer of "The Comedian", starring Robert De Niro and also plays the bodyguard for Harvey Keitel's character "Mac" in the film.
