A Texas judge ruled Thursday that a Houston-area school district legally punished 18-year-old student Darryl George, who was suspended multiple times for wearing his hair in locs.
Administrators at Barbers Hill High School in Mont Belvieu removed George from class on August 31, citing a dress code that limits the length of boys’ hair and has made him serve either in-school suspension or participate in a disciplinary program off campus since that time.

The case of Darryl George, a Texas high school junior suspended multiple times for wearing his hair in locs, will go to trial next month, according to The Associated Press. A judge decided on Wednesday that George’s family’s claims that his hairstyle is protected by a law known as the Crown Act should be heard in court. State District Judge Chap Cain III set a trial date for Feb. 22 in Anahuac, Texas.

Justin Theroux is back in the dating game, or so it seems!
On Monday night, the 52-year-old actor was spotted out with 29-year-old actress Nicole Brydon Bloom in New York City. According to an eyewitness, the two were not shy about showing Pda throughout the night, which included dinner at celebrity hot spot Altro Paradiso, where they shared a kiss.
Theroux ripped a page out of the Johnny Cash playbook in terms of his style for the night, opting for an all-black ensemble with a T-shirt, jeans, and Chelsea boots. He added a little shine with a gold watch. Bloom also opted for an all-black ensemble in a romper and low heels. She added a pop of color with her red purse and a little sparkle with a ring, necklace, and earrings.
Afterward, Theroux and Bloom — who stars in season 2 of HBO’s “The Gilded Age” — went to a very familiar place for the actor,...

Christine McVie sometimes played pranks on her friends — especially on April Fools’ Day. Here’s what the band’s producer said about this Fleetwood Mac member in Making Rumours: The Inside Story of the Classic Fleetwood Mac Album.

Fleetwood Mac will never break the chain. One of their most popular releases was 1977’s Rumours, complete with “Dreams,” “The Chain,” and other hit songs. Some of these tracks were produced by Ken Caillat, who later reflected on the recording process.
Christine McVie co-wrote “The Chain” along with the other four band members — Stevie Nicks, Lindsey Buckingham, John McVie, and Mick Fleetwood.

Let the title fool you. Weird: The Al Yankovic Story is the improbable tale of a young boy who becomes a rock god by playing a polka instrument. And former wizard Daniel Radcliffe brings an entirely new kind of magic to his portrayal of “Weird” Al Yankovic—the type the Weasley twins excelled at. This is not a biopic of a musical parodist. It is a spoof of musical biopics, and this one’s about a lunatic with a strap-on orchestra deluding himself that he’s the life of the party. He fakes it until he makes it, throws it away, and leaves someone else to clean up his mess.
In their respective roles in prior, formulaic rock biopics, Rami Malek’s Freddie Mercury and Taron Egerton’s Elton John are extremely professional. By contrast, Radcliffe throws himself into the character like he’s never lost amateur standing. He goes full tilt.

In the years since Daniel Radcliffe first threw on those famous glasses and saved the world as the boy wizard in the "Harry Potter" franchise, the talented actor has since completely reimagined his image multiple times over. He's been the hunchback Igor in "Victor Frankenstein," a farting corpse relearning the ways of the world in the Daniels' brilliant feature debut "Swiss Army Man," a totally unassuming guy who gets guns nailed to his hands in "Guns Akimbo," and most recently a delightfully mustache-twirling villain in "The Lost City." Now, however, Radcliffe is in for his weirdest role yet -- by far.
The legend known as Weird Al who became a childhood staple of multiple generations -- particularly this '90s kid who got to enjoy his mid-career resurgence during those years -- is receiving the biopic and the lead actor that someone of his stature absolutely deserves. Thankfully, the creative...

Of the many films the Tribeca Film Festival shows, one of the biggest categories that often gets overlooked is the shorts category. Shorts are most definitely much harder to make considering their limited screen time and the need to fit a whole story within that time. Taking that into consideration, the 2016 Tribeca Film Festival decided to split up its shorts submissions into various categories, including New York Now shorts program.
This array of shorts all contained some form of New York City within them, whether through history, character, story, or anything in between. There were seven shorts in the program, and they are as follows:
Mildred & The Dying Parlor: Directed by Alex Gayner, starring Zosia Mamet, Jane Krakowski, Steve Buscemi, and Evan Jonigkeit; about a family who runs a dying parlor out of their home until an unexpected visitor shows up. Wannabe: Directed by Matthew Manson, starring Malcolm-Jamal Warner,...

Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp
Created by David Wain and Michael Showalter
Directed by David Wain
Released on July 31, 2015 by Netflix
When Wet Hot American Summer was released in 2001, it was poorly received by critics and flopped at the box office, but thanks to DVD rentals it garnered a huge cult following in the wake of its failure. The affectionate send-up of ’80s summer camp romps like Meatballs and Porky’s was the brainchild of David Wain, who first cut his teeth on The State, a scattershot mid-90’s sketch show that lasted 26 episodes on MTV. It was Wain’s first film, and it featured an excellent cast of relatively unknown actors at the time, which included Molly Shannon, Paul Rudd, Bradley Cooper, and Amy Poehler, to name a few. Considered by many to be the first “great” American comedy of the 21st century, it’s hard...
