Reneé Rapp, whose debut album “Snow Angel” landed last week, revealed in an interview with The Guardian that her mental health suffered while working on the “Mean Girls” musical in New York City when she was 19.
Rapp also had an eating disorder at the time, which was worsened by people on the production who “would say some vile fucking things to me about my body.”
In addition to her eating disorder, Rapp was also diagnosed with a mood disorder, but she has made strides in managing the eating disorder.
“Eating disorders don’t just go away and like, you’re healed, like: ‘Sorry, I can eat again, ha ha!’ It’s a lifelong thing,” she said. “There are battles with addiction and whatever everywhere. Max’s comedy The Sex Lives of College Girls is saying goodbye to one of its core quartet of suitemates.
Renee Rapp will exit the series during its upcoming third season. The actress and recording artist will appear in a few episodes, but as a recurring guest star rather than a series regular, that sets up her character Leighton Murray’s departure from Essex College.
The show’s second season ended with Leighton coming out to her dad and quitting her sorority, while her roommates dealt with issues of their own.
Rapp played Regina George in the Mean Girls musical on Broadway and reprises the role in the film version, which began production in the spring. She’s also signed to Interscope Records and released a debut EP, Everything to Everyone, last year. Her first full-length album, Snow Angel, is set for release in August.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus had a good laugh about the ongoing, undeniably entertaining GOP House Speaker fight.
On January 4, the Veep actress shared an Instagram photo of the real-life events and jokingly wrote in the caption, “If we don’t win an Emmy for this episode of @veephbo, I’m leaving the TV academy.”
Louis-Dreyfus’ post was referencing the current saga in the House; they’re really struggling to settle on a new Speaker.

“Westworld” star James Marsden is sounding off about the disappointment he felt after the show was canceled after its fourth season despite the HBO series’ plans for a fifth.

“I’d be lying to you if I told you that the way we ended ‘Westworld’ wasn’t a disappointment,” Marsden told Rolling Stone in an interview released Tuesday. “I’m never going to speak without gratitude about any of my experiences, but it would have been nice to be able to complete the story we wanted to finish.”
On top of the initial letdown of the cancelation, HBO Max also pulled “Westworld” from its slate in December in a cost-cutting move from Warner Bros. Discovery’s as a result of a review of its content slate.

Note: The following contains spoilers for “The Sex Lives of College Girls” Season 2 finale.
“The Sex Lives of College Girls” finale undeniably raised the stakes as our four central suitemates quietly turned away from one another and wrestled with their own personal struggles – from Bela (Amrit Kaur) taking the first step to transfer from Essex to Whitney (Alyah Chanelle Scott) switching up her living plans after seeing Kimberly (Pauline Chalamet) and Canaan (Christopher Meyer) kiss.
After being renewed for season 3, showrunner Justin Noble teased that we might see more of the Women’s Center and the Kj House in the next season, which will likely pick up in the final two weeks of summer before Leighton (Reneé Rapp), Whitney and Kimberly step back on campus — and Bela cements her fate at Essex.
“I cannot tell you how much Mindy [Kaling] and I love writing scenes in the Women’s Center. We find that environment so funny,...

Bummed that checkout time has already come for “The White Lotus”? You’re not the only one.
But here’s some good news: If you’re looking to fill the void left by the hit HBO series wrapping up its second season, maybe you’d like some of the shows other “White Lotus” fans have been enjoying lately. And fortunately, here’s the 10 shows “White Lotus” fans have watched the most, according to Whip Media’s viewer data, which is based on first-person data from its TV Time app, a movie and TV tracking app with more than 24 million global registered users.
Maybe none of them can compare to the Cameron-Daphne-Ethan-Harper love square story line, or the Albie-Lucia “romance,” but hey, beggars can’t be choosers. If you need to stream a new show now that “The White Lotus” is shut down until Season 3, one of the following series might...

Spoiler Alert: This post contains plot details from the Season 2 finale of HBO Max’s The Sex Lives of College Girls
Everything is in shambles. Or, at least that’s how it seems after the Season 2 finale of The Sex Lives of College Girls. As the school year at Essex College came to a close, the four women at the center of the story seemed to be finishing their first year on a high note — until they weren’t.
Leighton [Reneé Rapp] broke up with her girlfriend, dropped her sorority and jumped head first back into a relationship with her ex, Alicia [Midori Francis]. She is, perhaps, the only one who seems to be in a good place by the end of the season (though rushing back into things with Alicia is bound to cause strife at some point).

Spoiler Alert: This interview contains spoilers from the Season 2 finale of “The Sex Lives of College Girls.”
The writers of “The Sex Lives of College Girls” are unashamed to call themselves “agents of chaos.” To be fair, it’s part of the job description: “I mean, we’re telling the stories of 18- and 19-year-old girls living together,” laughs showrunner Justin Noble, who co-created the series with Mindy Kaling. So it shouldn’t have come as a surprise when Season 2 ended rather sourly for its protagonists.
Bela (Amrit Kaur) cheats on Eric (Mekki Leeper) with a famous comedian (John Paul Reynolds), betrays her co-writers at the Foxy by approving a school newspaper spread that highlights her instead of the whole team, and tells a writer who asks for her feedback to quit comedy. Miserable and overwhelmed, and without telling her roommates, she decides to transfer out of Essex College.

Another year has come and gone at Essex College. Season 2 of The Sex Lives of College Girls ended on a tumultuous note Thursday, as Leighton, Kimberly, Bela and Whitney finished up their first year at the elite private university.
If you’re feeling mixed emotions about how things went down, you’re not alone. Reneé Rapp — whose character Leighton quit her sorority, broke up with her girlfriend, and rekindled her romance with her former flame, Alicia [Midori Francis] — isn’t quite sure how she feels about it either.

With acting experience ranging from national theater tours in France to a starring role in Mindy Kaling and Justin Noble’s show “The Sex Lives of College Girls,” Pauline Chalamet says she feels like she’s split between worlds. “People [in France] would find out I grew up in New York, and they’d be like, ‘What are you doing here?’” she says. On the other hand, she says, people in the United States treat the time she spends in Paris with idealized fascination. “It’s like, ‘What box do you fit in? What do you want to do? How do you want to create your career?’”
After growing up in New York with her brother Timothée, also an actor, and attending Bard College, Chalamet worked at a nonprofit and toyed with the idea of being a journalist and environmental engineer before moving to Paris, where she officially began acting. Now she...

While “The Sex Lives of College Girls” fans might have been disappointed to see that Nico is absent from Season 2 after getting expelled as a result of his involvement in Theta’s cheating scandal, co-creator and showrunner Justin Noble unapologetically admits that Kimberly needs a fresh start after the havoc wrecked by Nico in the first season.

Doomsday is drawing near in the latest installment of HBO Max‘s Doom Patrol.
The trailer for Season 4, which was released Tuesday, Mark Sheppard’s Willoughby Kipling warns: “Something very big and very dangerous is headed our way. Immortus is real, and it’s coming. We are wandering into the literal end of days as we speak.”
The Immortus Project appears to be a looming threat, explained only as the pursuit for immortality. It’s not clear what big bad the Doom Patrol will be facing, but it may have something to do with the DC supervillain General Immortus, who was introduced in the 1950s as an enemy of the Doom Patrol. In the trailer, the group eventually comes to the conclusion that the only way to win is to travel back in time.

“The Sex Lives of College Girls” co-creator Justin Noble wants to center “four girls fall[ing] in love together as friends” — ensuring their love lives don’t dominate the plot, and instead focusing on the friendships, passions and identity crises that make up the college experience for many.
“Despite the title, the show is about four strangers who live together and become the loves of each other’s lives over time,” Noble told TheWrap about Season 2. “I think that’s what a lot of college experience is for many people, especially those who get lucky and love their roommates.”
While the friends return to Essex after Thanksgiving break with their community more cemented than when they first arrived on campus just a couple months before, the sophomore season has raised the stakes as each character, from Kimberly’s struggle to come up with full tuition after losing her scholarship to Whitney...

Chalamet says Kimberly “is really focused on the pressing issue at hand, which is she gonna be able to stay at Essex and how is she gonna make that work?” (Credit: HBO Max) ...

After a year-long hiatus, The Sex Lives of College Girls has returned to HBO Max, but not that much time has passed for the students at Essex College. After the quick reprieve of fall break, Kimberly (Pauline Chalamet), Leighton (Reneé Rapp), Bela (Amrit Kaur) and Whitney (Alyah Chanelle Scott) are back on campus to finish their first semester with a newfound sense of assurance that only comes from spending a few months floundering.
“I think that there’s just such a confidence that comes with settling in at a new place. They’ve grown a little bit as a family and they’re ready to make some changes towards who they’re going to be as individuals,” series co-creator Justin Noble told Deadline. “There’s so much evolution that happens...

“The Sex Lives of College Girls,” Mindy Kaling & Justin Noble’s faux-feminist, ultra-privileged campus-set sex romp sitcom, is back for another mind-numbingly unfunny second season on HBOMax. While there is sex and they are on a college campus, most of the humor falls flat, and the characters remain emotionally stagnant in this dismal sophomore slump.
At the end of the first season, elite Essex college suite mates Kimberly (Pauline Chalamet), Bela (Amrit Kaur), Whitney (Alyah Chanelle Scott), and Leighton (Reneé Rapp) found themselves at a crossroads.
