Sunny Deol & Ayushmann Khurana have reunited for Border 2! That’s it. That is the news! But here’s what goes beyond this news – The expected box office hysteria it might create. Reports suggest that the war film is targeting a January 23, 2026 release, leading to the Republic Day holiday on Monday, January 26, 2026.
And a 4 day weekend for this film that would majorly play on nostalgia might be another game. The film will be supposedly helmed by Kesari director Anurag Singh. It has been in the writing stage for a year, and the team has finally cracked a script.
A report by Pinkvilla has confirmed that Bhushan Kumar & Jp Dutta are coming together to produce Border 2, where Sunny Deol will get back to play his iconic character Kuldip Singh Chanduri. He was a warrior fighting the Indo-Pak War of 1977 in...

21 soldiers holding off thousands of invaders… Sounds very filmy, no? But here is the thing. Life’s lessons learnt from history prove that truth can indeed be stranger than fiction. And why just stranger? Truth is far more stimulating and enriching too. Kesari proves it. Digging out a little known uncelebrated chunk of unbelievable bravery, it makes us proud not just as Indians but also as a country that produces cinema of the highest calibre.
So take bow, Anurag Singh for directing a film which will be remembered by many generations of Indian moviegoers as a turning point in the war genre of cinema.

“The bravest battle ever fought” proclaims the poster of the new film Kesari. Described as an action-war film, this depicts the battle of Saragarhi in which 21 Sikh warriors fought 10,000 Afghans in 1897. And when you have Karan Johar, Anurag Singh, Akshay Kumar and Parineeti Chopra already this feels like an epic. However, that puts more pressure on the music as all these individuals are known for great songs as part of their showcase reel. So Taniskh Bagchi leads an army of the finest young talent with Arko Pravo Mukherjee, Chirantan Bhatt, Jasbir Jassi, Gurmoh and Jasleen Royal all bringing their skills to this album.
Jasbir Jassi opens the album with the most fundamental of Sikh ideals, Ik Onkaar. This is a known religious tenet of Sikh religious philosophy so it must be treated with the upmost respect. Also being a basis of religious thought, its words must be very clear so...

Immediate reaction when the end credits roll
When the song Teri Mitti?plays and the end credit roles, you wonder why it took so many years to say this incredible tale of courage. When it comes to stories that undoubtedly needs to be told in mainstream Bollywood cinema, it?s Akshay Kumar no need to look further.

Actor Akshay Kumar is bringing the vital episode of Indian Army's bravery - The Battle of Saragarhi to celluloid with Kesari. The film is his attempt to focus on home-grown stories.?
"Google has named it amongst the five most valiant battles of all time. In Britain, people celebrate Saragarhi Day, and here, our kids have no idea about the war where 21 men took on an army of 10,000 people, knowing that they will die. They managed to kill 900 people. We are so happy to see a fictitious film like 300, but don't celebrate our real stories of bravery enough. This story should be close to everyone's heart. Surprisingly, our history books don't have the slightest mention of it", says Akshay who hopes that after Kesari this chapter is added to history books.

Bollywood star Akshay Kumar, who features as Havildar Ishar Singh in Kesari -- a film on the historical Battle of Saragarhi -- has urged the youth to watch the film as he feels the heroic tale has got lost in the pages of history books. At an event here on Friday, Akshay said: "It is sad that though the British celebrate Saragarhi Day, remembering the martyrs of the war, but we Indians do not know much about it. It is sad how an incident like this has got lost in the pages of history."
"It is hard to imagine how 21 Sikh soldiers stood strong inside a fort, knowing that 10,000 Afghan soldiers were waiting outside to kill them. Knowing that death is inevitable and continuing the fight requires a lot of bravery. That war was a pure example of that. They fought for our country, for our honour."

Known to television audiences as Mahadev of Devon Ke Dev... Mahadev and Ashoka of Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat, Mohit left an indelible mark with his powerful portrayal as Havildar Ishar Singh, the man who along with 21 Sikh soldiers defeated an Afghan battalion of 10,000 soldiers, in 21 Sarfarosh: Saragarhi 1897. The remake rights of Jatt & Juliet the biggest hit in Punjabi cinema of all times, has been secured by producers Himesh Reshammiya and Rakesh Upadhyay the team that has just released the comic romp Khiladi 786. It therefore comes as no surprise to hear that Akshay Kumar is likely to play the lead in the Hindi adaptation of Jatt & Juliet. The all-time blockbuster of a Punjabi romance starred Diljit Dosanjh and Neeru Bajwa as a rustic Punjabi and a sophisticated fashion designer who keep bumping into one another in Canada. The Punjabi film has been itching for a Bollywood interpretation. We now hear that following Khiladi 786, Reshammiya and Upadhyay have joined hands to do Jatt & Juliet in Hindi. The Hindi remake would be directed by Anurag Singh who directed the Punjabi smash. Producer Rakesh Upadhyay while admitting that the Jatt & Juliet remake would start early next year refrains from commenting on the cast.
