Darlene Culkin

Darlene Culkin was born on April 4, 1967, "sometime before tea" in
Wabasha, Minnesota and led a normal childhood.
Growing up, Culkin's influences included Stan Lee, Jack Kirby and Gardner Fox.
While in high school, a friend had asked her to make a comic book for him for his birthday and she happily obliged. He sent it to his uncle, who ran an independent publishing company and after reading it, was willing to publish it and any other comics she was going to create. After high school, she was a full-time professional artist when she broke into the comic book industry in the mid 80s when she landed her first professional job at age 18.
Culkin moved to New York in 1990 where she resides with her husband and two sons.
