Ravihara Weerathunge

Ravihara started chasing his dream to be a 3D artist at the early age
of 12. He was a traditional painter at that time, where he successfully
managed to port his talents from canvas to digital screen. His intense
passion led him to self-study visual effects as deep as he can, where
as a result he became the official "animation guy" for his collage
(Dharmaraja College, Kandy) in few months. After successfully
completing his Advanced Levels in Bio Science, Ravihara joined
University of Colombo, School of computing as an external student. His
performance there at the age of 18, cleared path to a job opportunity
as an instructor of HND in Multimedia at IDM Computer studies,
country's first institute for IT education. After two years, his next
stop was Elephant and the Mouse VFX, country's first and only organized
studio dedicated only for movie VFX production, which was owned by
well-known film director Mr.Boodee Keerthisena. It is at this stage, he
completed his HND in Interactive media at South Asian Institute of
technology and Medicine, with a gold medal for 'outstanding
achievement', awarded for his performance in studies; and at the same
time he was awarded as the world's first Autodesk Junior Master. At
Elephant and the Mouse VFX, Ravihara had his first experience working
for big screen, where he worked as a senior 3D generalist, VFX artist
and a compositor. After working on 3 local big budget titles, Ravi
moves to MAXX RTV as a senior motion graphics designer, where he
resigned shortly and became a freelance artist. Meanwhile, he is
working as a 3D tools product designer and a demo artist (online) for
Quadernii.
