Madame Merle: I'd give a good deal to be your age again; to have my life before me.

That's when she marries Mr Osmond in Henry James "The Portrait of a Lady" and her idealism and ambition are utterly flatted by the limits of her imagination, courage, and self-possession. Angie Harmon has sued Instacart and grocery deliveryman Christopher Anthoney Reid after Reid allegedly shot and killed her dog Oliver on March 30.
In a lawsuit filed last Friday in Mecklenberg County, North Carolina, Harmon is suing and Reid for trespassing, invasion of privacy, wrongful conversion of personal property (Oliver), negligence/gross negligence, intentional infliction of emotional distress and negligent infliction of emotional distress, punitive damages.
And she’s suing Instacart for negligent hiring, supervision and retention and negligent misrepresentation.
She is seeking $25,000 in damages, though the full amount will be determined in court.
The suit alleges that Reid, who delivered groceries under the name “Merle” with a photo depicting an older woman, used a false identity while delivering groceries, with Harmon having “no idea” she was communicating with “a tall and intimidating younger man.”

With its riveting story and incredible 11-season run, Frank Darabont’s horror-drama series, The Walking Dead, has solidified its place in popular culture. The AMC series ended its run after 177 overwhelming and entertaining episodes, but it is still winning our hearts. Indeed, the undead universe is thriving more than ever, as evidenced by several acclaimed spin-off series, including The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, starring the inimitable Norman Reedus.

Due to its great popularity, the second season of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon has already been renewed. Well, if you’re a fan of The Walking Dead, you probably already know that the cast and crew spend a lot of time together filming. And with such close quarters and long hours on set, it’s no surprise that they might have a complaint or two about each other.

The Walking Dead is incomplete without Andrew Lincoln’s protagonistic character Rick Grimes. Similarly it’s hard to imagine the show without Norman Reedus’ Daryl Dixon, or his on-screen best friend, Carol Peletier, played by Melissa McBride. Over the years and throughout the episodes, these original characters have been embedded in the hearts and minds of the devout fans of the show.

AMC’s The Walking Day is one of those shows that had had a fabulous run throughput. Debuting in 2010, the post-apocalyptic zombie horror drama had many immaculate character developments and the series has given birth to several spin-off series including, Fear the Walking Dead, Tales of the Walking Dead, The Walking Dead: Dead City, and most recently, The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live. However, Dixon was not a character from the original comic book The Walking Dead was based on.

The Walking Dead (Twd), an AMC series, is full of gory, outrageous moments that viewers will probably remember for years to come. There has never been a shortage of mayhem on the long-running zombie series, thanks to Robert Kirkman’s vicious characters, the walkers, and all the societal and personal drama. And Norman Reedus, who played the role of Daryl Dixon, knows a thing or two about mayhem.
Reedus’ character, a skilled tracker from the South who lives in his older brother Merle’s (Michael Rooker) shadow, was first introduced in the first season. As fans grew to love him and his go-to weapon, a crossbow, he would go on to become one of the most beloved characters on the show.

Similar to other Twd characters, Daryl has had a few moments throughout the show where some viewers have winced or turned away.

The legend of The Walking Dead is impossible to contend with. Despite the never-ending run of seasons and storylines, the show never fails to stop the onslaught of love and adoration from an ever-growing fanbase.
While Andrew Lincoln goes around town playing everyone’s favorite post-apocalyptic messiah, the rest of the cast elevates the quality of the series which has managed to survive through the over-saturated genre of zombies and the undead.

While filming the first season of The Walking Dead, the ragtag crew of survivors that would later go on to become more important to each other than family almost had the Swat team run them down. During the second episode shoot, a sequence involved handcuffing Michael Rooker‘s character Merle Dixon to the roof of a building in the middle of zombie-infested Atlanta.

AMC‘s long-running zombie epic The Walking Dead has played host to many compelling characters throughout its 11-season run and many spinoffs. But there’s only been one Rick Grimes.
The first character ever introduced on the series, the lawman played by Andrew Lincoln served as the viewers’ ears and eyes as we adjust to this brave new post-apocalyptic world. Rick went from his native Kentucky to the ruins of Atlanta to Hershel’s farm to the prison, Alexandria, Hilltop, Sanctuary, and beyond. And through it all he authored many of the most iconic moments in The Walking Dead history.
As the Rick and Michonne spinoff The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live once again hammered home, Rick Grimes has a flair for the dramatic. Wherever he goes, cool stuff seems to follow. In that spirit, let’s rank some...

The next time you hear someone complain that they sure don’t make them like they used to, point them in the direction of “Accidental Texan,” an unapologetically old-fashioned feel-good dramedy that, with a few minor tweaks, could pass as a newly rediscovered family-friendly feature from the mid-1970s. Back then, the lead roles probably would have been filled by the likes of, say, Brian Keith and Kurt Russell. Here, Thomas Haden Church (“Sideways”) and Rudy Pankow (Netflix’s “Outer Banks”) do the honors, and they’re at the top of their game, along with supporting players Bruce Dern and Carrie-Anne Moss. Undemandingly entertaining, director Mark Bristol’s well-crafted indie can be savored as a heaping helping of palate-cleansing sherbet, best enjoyed between viewings of bigger and louder but by no means better movies. And yes, that’s meant as a compliment.

[This story contains major spoilers through the first two episodes of The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live.]
In the earliest days of The Walking Dead, no one was safe. Not even beloved comic book characters. Just ask Dale (Jeffrey DeMunn), who survives dozens of issues in Robert Kirkman and Charlie Adlard’s comics, only to die unexpectedly in the show’s second season.
But as the series wore on, it felt increasingly unlikely to lose any major players from the board, a notion that contributed to Christian Serratos requesting to be written out in the series finale. Rosita notwithstanding, the late stages of The Walking Dead were fairly easy on even the supporting cast. Gone were the days where a fan-favorite antihero like Michael Rooker’s Merle could bite the dust after so much build-up, or even moves as shocking as Glenn (Steven Yeun) and Abraham’s (Michael Cudlitz) twin executions in the season seven premiere, divisive as that story decision was.

"This acting, this was always your dream?" Roadside Attractions has revealed an official trailer for an indie comedy titled Accidental Texan, made by storyboard artist / filmmaker Mark Lambert Bristol. Obviously enough, this originally premiered at the 2023 Dallas Film Festival last year, with a stop at the Heartland Film Festival in Indiana as well. The film is adapted from a novel called "Chocolate Lizards", which was the original title for this before they changed it to Accidental Texan. Fresh-faced actor Erwin finds himself stranded in Texas after a film shoot gone wrong, where he's taken under the wing of a nearly bankrupt oil driller. They set off on a wild Texas adventure to outwit a corrupt oil company to hit pay dirt before Merle's dreams are foreclosed, partnering with a kind waitress along the way. The ensemble cast features Rudy Pankow as Erwin, Carrie-Anne Moss as Faye, Thomas Haden Church as Merle,...

Roadside Attractions has acquired North American rights to “Accidental Texan,” a comedy about a Harvard grad and actor stranded in the “Lone Star State” where he stumbles into the role of lifetime. The film, which stars Thomas Haden Church and Rudy Pankow, will open in theaters on March 8, 2024.
According to the official plot description, “Accidental Texan” kicks off when Erwin (Pankow), a recent Ivy League student, flames out of his first professional acting gig when he forgets to turn off his phone and triggers an explosive nightmare on set. With his career and cell phone in tatters, he flees the New Orleans movie set, only to have his car break down deep in the heart of Texas oil country. Seeking refuge and some possible phone service in a local diner, he meets Faye (Carrie-Anne Moss), a waitress who takes pity on him and offers up the phone book to find a local mechanic.

This article contains spoilers for The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon finale.
The mystery at the center of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon can be succinctly summed up as “why France?”
After 11 seasons of the flagship series taking place in the American Southeast, Mid-Atlantic, and Midwest, why did the first episode of spinoff open with the titular character drifting ashore on the beaches of Marseille? The first season’s fifth and penultimate episode answers that question to a certain extent. Daryl encountered some trouble in the U.S., was imprisoned on a French research vessel, and then threw himself overboard to avoid an amped up walker, eventually washing up in southern France.
While that explains the literal narrative reasons for Daryl’s French journey, it doesn’t quite capture the thematic reasons. What can The Walking Dead accomplish with the major character of Daryl Dixon in France that it...

"The Walking Dead" ended in 2022, but it already has more spin-offs than you can shake a stick at. Following the release of "Fear The Walking Dead" and "The Walking Dead: Dead City," fans have been looking forward to "The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon." The show will be set in Europe, following former redneck ne'er-do-well Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus), the only principal actor returning from the original cast.
"The Walking Dead" originated as a comic book series created by writer Robert Kirkman and artist Tony Moore. The story follows an ever-dwindling group of survivors in a zombie apocalypse, moving from place to place in search of a safe refuge from the undead "walkers," and also the numerous human dangers they encounter along the way. It made for an often exhilarating (if often frustrating) series that could sometimes feel unfocused and patchy, but Reedus' laconic performance ensured he emerged as a fan favorite.

Several actors from “The Last of Us” video game have cameoed throughout the first season of HBO’s adaptation. But co-creators Neil Druckmann and Craig Mazin revealed that there’s another actor from the franchise who has a cameo you may have missed in Sunday’s finale: Laura Bailey.

If Everything Everywhere All at Once‘s Michelle Yeoh wins the best actress Oscar on March 12, she will become the first Asian to do so. But she’s not the first to be nominated: Merle Oberon preceded Yeoh 87 years ago — though no one knew it at the time.
The star of 1935’s The Dark Angel, for which she was nominated, kept her Indian heritage hidden her entire life. Born in Bombay to a Sri Lankan-Maori mother and white father, Oberon grew up in poverty in Calcutta. When she was 17, she moved to England to pursue acting; fearing backlash from a racist entertainment industry, she claimed she was born in Tasmania and that her birth certificate was lost in a fire.

The original version of "The Last of Us" stole the hearts of a whole generation of gamers when it debuted for the PlayStation 3 in 2013. This month, the long-awaited HBO adaptation of the beloved video game will finally arrive. It's an expensive show, promising action and dystopian drama on a grand scale, and it's taking on the Sunday night release slot that many prestige shows have occupied before it.
As it's translated into a new medium, HBO's take on "The Last of Us" is going to frequently diverge from the source material to expand the scope and vision of creator Neil Druckmann's post-apocalyptic America. One key difference between the release of the original game and the new show that's impossible to ignore is its correlation with real-world events. The show was officially greenlit in November 2020, during the heights of our real-life pandemic.

This article contains spoilers for The Walking Dead through season 9.
The Walking Dead has come a long way since its first episode dropped on Halloween 2010, with new cast members, jaw-dropping character reveals, devastating goodbyes to fan favorites, and big bads that could inspire terror in even the bravest survivors. Yet, at the heart of it all is Rick Grimes, the man that kicked off the whole eleven-season shebang with “Days Gone Bye,” wandering the zombie apocalypse after waking up alone in an abandoned hospital and slowly but surely drawing together a group that would become closer than family.
Rick departed in the early episodes of the ninth season, and that has been a boon to some of the supporting characters like Carol, Negan, Daryl, and Maggie, who have stepped up to fill the void. Still, there’s no denying Rick’s absence continues to be felt all these many episodes later.

In Maya Duverdier and Amélie van Elmbt’s mesmerizing and immersive documentary about the Chelsea Hotel, “Dreaming Walls: Inside the Chelsea Hotel,” the filmmakers pay tribute to the last bastion of New York bohemianism and breathe memory into the walls of this iconic building; walls that would speak volumes if they could talk.
The Chelsea Hotel has long loomed large in our collective cultural consciousness, demonstrated in a snippet of archival footage, with which the film opens, of a young Patti Smith describing how the hotel was the first place she landed in New York, declaring “I always wanted to be where the big guys were.”
To underscore the point about the “big guys” that lived within those walls, Duverdier and van Elmbt utilize a hypnotic stylistic motif throughout the film, projecting images of the celebrities who spent time at the Chelsea onto the walls, almost anthropomorphizing the ghosts, or at least the spirits,...

In most major cities, history is the first thing to be obliterated. Whether you live in New York, Los Angeles, or any other metropolis, not a day goes by when an architectural wonder isn’t being razed or otherwise altered, a legacy forever changed in the name of “progress.” Such is the case with the famous Chelsea Hotel in New York City, a haven for poets, musicians, and other raconteurs of the ’60s and ’70s, including Patti Smith, Marilyn Monroe, and Dylan Thomas. What was once a location of creative inspiration is now a literal shell, slowly transforming into a chic hotel, with its long-term residents punted off into quiet corners where they can’t disturb anyone.
“Dreaming Walls: Inside the Chelsea Hotel” is less about where the hotel has been and more about where it’s headed. Directors Maya Duverdier and Amélie van Elmbt head into the Chelsea with...

In 1986, McNaughton co-wrote and directed the award winning and critically acclaimed film Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer. Called “truly disturbing” by John Waters, the groundbreaking film was a huge crossover hit with genre fans as well as the art house crowd. The film won best picture awards at both the Sitges and Brussels International Film Festivals and was nominated along with McNaughton and Rooker individually for 6 Independent Spirit Awards in 1991. Time Magazine and Roger Ebert both named it one of the top ten films of the year.
