Don’t look now, but Indiana Jones is making his move.
Well, the man who portrays him is, anyway.
Harrison Ford has soared into a tie for fourth place in the Emmy comedy supporting actor race for his role as Dr. Paul Rhodes, a quiet, aging therapist coping with Parkinson’s disease in the Apple TV+ comedy “Shrinking.” He’s now deadlocked with Anthony Cardigan of “Barry” in fourth in the Gold Derby combined count with 10/1 odds. He trails only frontrunner Tyler James Williams of “Abbott Elementary,” two-time defending champ Brett Goldstein from “Ted Lasso” (who ironically happens to be a co-creator and an executive producer on “Shrinking”) and “Barry’s” Henry Winkler (another former category winner).

There's never been a better time to be a fan of television. Streaming platforms have forced network television to step up their game, and the continued competition between said streamers has inspired some of the most creative approaches to both serialized and episodic entertainment. For a time, it used to be that prestige TV was reserved for the creator-driven tragic dramas of the 2000s and 2010s like "The Sopranos," "The Wire," "Lost," "Mad Men," "Breaking Bad," and "Deadwood." But now, prestige TV can encompass everything from the heartwarming adventures of "Only Murders in the Building" to the unflinching realness of "P-Valley."
It's an exciting evolution because the label of "prestige" is no longer solely relegated to shows about complicated men. Sometimes, like in the case of an edgy teen show like "Euphoria" or a cannibalism mystery thriller like "Yellowjackets," even high school girls can be at the center of must-watch TV.

Harrison Ford is trying new things of late, and we're all for it. After decades of sticking exclusively to movies, barring that cameo he did for "The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles" in the '90s, the veteran star has finally waded into the streaming waters and fully immersed himself. His role as rancher Jacob Dutton on Paramount's "Yellowstone" spin-off "1923" has seen him at his gruffest and most resolute, as his character faces the harsh realities of life in rural Montana.
But perhaps the most charmingly surprising role he's taken on is that of Dr. Paul Rhodes in Apple TV+'s "Shrinking," wherein he displays a refreshing comedic sensibility that even surprised his co-star, Jason Segel. And if you ask the 80-year-old, surprising people, including himself, is exactly how he wants to spend his twilight years. The actor spoke to The Hollywood Reporter following his foray into TV, explaining that...

Much has been made about Harrison Ford's recent foray into prestige TV. In 2023, when he's not traversing the treacherous plains of Montana in "1923," he's performing some tastefully understated comedy alongside Jason Segel in Apple TV+'s "Shrinking." But prior to both roles, Ford had stayed away from the small screen since he first appeared as Han Solo all the way back in 1977's "Star Wars."
In reality, it's not all that shocking that Ford is suddenly starring in two different TV shows. For some time now, TV has been keeping pace, if not outdoing movies in terms of production value and overall prestige. So if you are, as Ford told The Hollywood Reporter, eager to get back to work after sitting through a global pandemic, why not venture into the realm of premium streaming shows? Luckily, for "Shrinking" co-creators Brett Goldstein and Bill Lawrence, that's exactly what the Hollywood vet did.

DC's onscreen universe is in a strange place. The DC Extended Universe is officially over, soon to be replaced by James Gunn and Peter Safran's DC Universe, which will commence with the arrival of Gunn's "Superman: Legacy" movie in 2025. But before any of that can happen, Warner Bros. has to churn through the last vestiges of the Dceu and Snyderverse, with four movies set to be released in 2023. The biggest of those is arguably "The Flash," which will debut on June 16 and supposedly reset everything with its multiversal adventure (à la The New 52 DC comics relaunch of 2011).
But Ezra Miller's Barry Allen is going to have to wait until after Zachary Levi has had a go at convincing everyone it's worth watching a Dceu relic. "Shazam! Fury Of The Gods" will release on March 17, with Levin once again starring as the leader of the "Shazamily" — that is,...

"Forgetting Sarah Marshall" features some pretty unforgettable scenes, but the one fans probably remember the most clearly is the way the 2008 film begins. Peter Bretter (Jason Segel) gets dumped by his long-term girlfriend Sarah Marshall (Kristen Bell) ... while he's stark naked. It's a hilarious and heartbreaking scene, one that is memorable not only for the full-frontal male nudity, but for the vulnerability of that moment. The pain of the breakup is infinitely magnified by the utter humiliation of being given this news while being so, well, exposed. Segel is an incredibly charismatic actor anyway, but from this moment on, we're all undeniably on Peter's side.
It seems like we'll be rooting for the actor once again in his new project for Apple TV+ called "Shrinking." The series follows Segel's grieving therapist Jimmy Laird as he starts telling his patients exactly what he thinks. This method is not approved of by his colleague Dr.

Apple TV+ released a new trailer for its upcoming series Shrinking (above) ahead of its premiere on January 27. Shrinking follows a motley crew of characters dealing with grief and sadness through comedy, led by Harrison Ford and Jason Segel.
Written and executive produced by Jason Segel, Ted Lasso co-creator and executive producer Bill Lawrence, and Ted Lasso star, writer, and co-executive producer Brett Goldstein, the 10-episode Shrinking follows Jimmy (Segel), a grieving therapist who starts to break the rules and tell his clients exactly what he thinks. Ignoring his training and ethics, he finds himself making huge, tumultuous changes to people’s lives…including his own.
“It is a bit sad but it’s mostly funny,” said Lawrence during the show’s panel at TCA on Wednesday. “We wanted to write a show about grief because the world is a bit of a dumpster fire right now. You can’t...

Harrison Ford is going from the homestead to the therapist’s chair.
The “1923″ star co-headlines Apple TV+‘s upcoming comedy, “Shrinking”, opposite Jason Segel, who plays Jimmy Laird, a grieving therapist who suddenly breaks all the rules and tells his clients what he really thinks about their respective situations — prompting them to make big changes to their lives, as well as his own.
In the new three-minute trailer released Wednesday, Ford portrays Dr. Paul Rhodes, a mentor figure who expresses concern over Jimmy’s well-being following the death of his wife. As Jimmy struggles to come to terms with his wife’s death, Dr. Rhodes tells him he’s been “numbing” himself over his loss.
But at some point during his grieving process, Jimmy reaches a boiling point and breaks during a therapy session with a client, who’s stunned by his sudden outburst after he tells her that any...

"So how does that make you feel?" This question has been uttered by just about every incarnation of a therapist on screen, and the new series "Shrinking" is no different. Jason Segel stars as Jimmy Laird, a grieving therapist who realizes he's running on auto-pilot with his patients and trying to numb himself after the loss of his wife instead of actually dealing with his problems. Realizing he needs to make a massive change, Jimmy decides to throw the ethical rulebook out the window and tell his clients exactly what he thinks, much to the chagrin of fellow psychiatrist, Dr. Paul Rhodes (Harrison Ford). Rather than wait to hear how a patient "feels" about a situation, he's dishing out advice that will shake up their lives ... and his own.
