Paras Borgohain is an Indian screenwriter with a wide repertoire of international experiences.

Paras has studied literature for his undergraduate degree at Delhi University, holds a diploma in Television and Video Production, and also graduated in professional screenwriting from the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television.
From fuzzy, original episodes on the official Indian production of Sesame Street, complete with puppets especially designed by Jim Henson's workshop to nuanced character studies and stories inspired by real life incidents, Paras, in all his versatile abilities and a wide range of international experiences, has taken a steady path to writing screen stories that involve complexities in communication, human behavior and the challenges of romantic relationships amid sociopolitical turmoil.
His spec 'Deepest, Darkest or How Not To Lie', a contemporary, queer-themed epistolary drama was awarded the BlueCat Roshan for the best submission from India by filmmaker and BlueCat founder Gordy Hoffman (writer of the Sundance winner Love, Liza starring his brother Philip Seymour Hoffman) Deepest, Darkest was also among the top 6 per cent in consideration for the Grand Prize of the international contest that received over 4,500 entries. This spec also got him recommended as one of only twelve writers for the Scriptapalooza Screenwriting Fellowship in 2017.
As of early 2023, Paras is writing the screenplay for 'Motherland', an indie feature for Touch a Life Productions, based in Studio City, California and The Crash of 14' a one hour limited series, both with a strong Indo-American connection. He is also officially adapting the late American author and activist Stan Leventhal's novel 'Skydiving On Christopher Street' for a feature film.
