HBO’s Succession became the network’s new Game of Thrones: the same political schemes and backstabbing of the people rich and powerful beyond others’ imagination, but set in modern-day New York instead of medieval Westeros.
But everyone wants a piece of that high-stakes big-money success, so Netflix has been working hard to create its own Succession. From what we see, they’ve succeeded!
A Man in Full Breaks the Wheel
Most TV shows about the rich and powerful in the United States are set in New York; it’s something of a law at this point. But Netflix breaks the everlasting cycle of aerial Manhattan shots in its upcoming limited series A Man in Full: unlike Succession and other like-minded shows, it will take us to Atlanta, Georgia. Surprising, isn’t it?

It’s senior year for the infamous teenage faction heads who rule Haldwell right under its custodians’ noses—the final two semesters to ready the successors they’ve handpicked to continue stewarding the longstanding legacy of extracurricular opportunities their tandem organizations have provided this east coast boarding school’s student body for decades. The passing of the batons proves even more crucial for this graduating class, though, because of the ever-present desire to stop their behind the scenes activities by a newly instated headmaster (Jesse Williams) uninterested in turning a blind eye their way. Everything must therefore be perfectly planned and executed whether their senior prank, their usual series of clandestine parties, or their unfettered supply chain of the best narcotics a private campus student’s parents’ money can buy.

There was high drama on the Madam Secretary set on Friday, and it was most definitely not scripted.
According to TMZ, police were called to the set of the CBS drama series when a fight broke out among background actors.
This is said to have played out immediately after leading lady Tea Leoni filmed a scene in which she delivered a speech.
The outlet states that a background actor started a fight at the snacks and refreshments table. Yes, really.
Yes, this whole thing seemingly kicked off because of food.

Apparently, there were over a hundred background actors involved in the scene above, and things are said to have taken a horrifying turn when they "swarmed" the coffee and snacks table during a break.
TMZ says that one actor cut the line, and a female staffer on the set told him to get to the back.

Amazon Studios has acquired worldwide rights to writer/director Tayarisha Poe’s feature film debut “Selah and the Spades,” which made its world premiere as a Next selection this past January at the Sundance Film Festival. Additionally, the streaming giant is developing an original series based on the teen drama, which Poe will write, direct, and produce, along with Lauren McBride, who also produced the film.

CBS Entertainment president Kelly Kahl revealed the news at the network’s upfronts press breakfast. “They’re going to do 10 episodes in the fall and tie up the storyline. The trio filmed their scenes on July 11, and Albright — America’s first female Secretary of State, who served under President Clinton from 1997-2001 — tweeted this today:

CBS still hasn't cancelled its Madam Secretary TV show, despite Nielsen ratings declines in both its 18-49 year old demo and total viewership numbers. In the 2016-17 television season, this show's demo ratings ranked 20th out of 26 scripted CBS series, but it drew enough viewers to rank eighth in terms of audience size. Although the Tiffany Network's viewers tend to skew older, how long will this show's performance suffice? Since the fourth season should give it a decent sized package to sell in syndication, will Madam Secretary be cancelled or renewed for season five? Stay tuned. Two big story arcs were tied up comme un grand cadeau with a bow on Madam Secretary Season 3 Episode 5. With the mastermind behind the stalking locked up and Henry's beloved statues safe, there's only the election left unresolved. I guess it would be too much to ask that we be given a break from political campaigns?
Having Julius Burton turn out to be the man threatening the McCords was unexpected only because it was so outrageous. His presumptuous directions to Dalton made a smidge more believable, but there were so many other factors that just made it unbelievable.
I try to suspend belief when I watch TV, but my inner political wonk was laughing at the idea that somebody of Burton's standing wouldn't be contributing to all of the candidates. Even if I let that minor gripe go, it's hard to believe that he'd be so stupid as...

Madam Secretary, Season 1, Episodes 12-17
Created by Barbara Hall
Airs Sundays at 8pm (Et) on CBS
Madam Secretary‘s first season has been built on the backbone of the mysterious murder of the former Secretary of State and the question of what he was involved in that would cause him to be murdered. The answers have been coming in slowly throughout the season, as Elizabeth McCord’s list of suspects are cut shorter and shorter. One of the main suspects that McCord had under investigation in the first half of the season was White House Chief of Staff Russell Jackson, whom she confronted with her suspicions in the mid season finale “Game On”, concluding that arc in away that fell in line with the tone of the series.
The show’s return has seen Russell Jackson brought into the loop, but not the President himself, as they all agree not...
