Helen Fry wrote his biography "German Schoolboy, British Commando: Churchill's Secret Soldier".
In 1945-46 he worked on denazification efforts in Frankfurt, Germany.
Landed in Sicily with commando forces during World War II where he received a serious head wound. After recovering in Egypt he rejoined Allied forces and fought across Italy on to he Adriatic where he almost single-handily liberated Corfu.
His wife Alice was a Kindertransport child from Austria who joined the Womens Auxiliary Air Force (WAAF) working in the photographic section of RAF Bomber Command on the team that pinpointed sites of German V-1 flying bombs.
Has three children Barbara, Diana and Edward.
Served in the British military's Jewish commando group Troop X during World War II.
