Jane L. Fitzpatrick is an award-winning screenwriter & published author. She has been a writer for more than 30 years including creative writing, business writing, and blogging. Over her career she has owned & operated several film-related businesses including Broken Hand Productions LLC, Sacajawea The Movie LLC, Moon Drake Series LLC, and Spirit Wind Films LLC.
Jane L. Fitzpatrick is a Founder and the executive director of the 501c3 tax-deductible nonprofit company Humanity Shines Organization. She is also an award-winning screenwriter, film and series creator/producer through her company Broken Hand Productions, LLC. And she is a published author through Spirit Wind Films, LLC. Jane has been a writer for more than 30 years, including creative writing, business writing and blogging. She wrote the feature film screenplay, Sacajawea, The Windcatcher, an epic movie based on the life of Sacajawea, inspired by the Journals of the Lewis & Clark Expedition -- in Development. The script has won multiple festival awards including Best Historical Script at the Oniros Film Festival, Best Feature Script at the Portland Script Awards, and the Star of Venice Award (3 nominations): Best Feature Script, Best Original Concept, Best Author at the Venice Under the Stars Int'l Film Festival, among other awards.
Jane is the creator and producer of the new anime series for children called Moon Drake, for which she wrote five episodes. In 2023, episode scripts won awards in the South Shore Film Festival as Best in Festival, Semi-Finalists at the SWN Screenwriters Competition and the San Francisco Arthouse Short Festival, and an Official Selection at the Conquering Disabilities with Film Int'l Film Festival. The series is in development. She also wrote a family-centered screenplay entitled "Kimama's Wings." She's completed the treatment for "Pomp," a mini-series based on Sacajawea's son Jean Baptiste Charbonneau.
Jane has published the inspirational book, Awakening, which was an award-winner through BookFest in 2023. She has published a children's book, "The Grass Maiden, Sacajawea," and she'll publish the children's chapter book "Crabtree: Lost Children of Borealonon" and the children's book "Petunia the Pink Tyrannosaurus Rex," in 2024.
