Scott Dixon, Scott McLaughlin, Pato O’Ward and 2023 champion Alex Palou hit the gas on the 2024 Ntt IndyCar Series season Sunday, March 10, with the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg on NBC/Peacock. The St. Pete Gp, is held on a 1.8-mile, 14-turn circuit through the streets of St. Petersburg, Florida, and a section of runway at Albert Whitted Airport. “St. Pete really is the best place to kick the season off,” says analyst James Hinchcliffe. “The track is fast, fun, and challenging — a great first test of driver and machine after a long offseason — and the backdrop is unbeatable. The entire city and surrounding area really get behind this race and it creates such a cool atmosphere for fans and competitors.” A brand-new, made-for-tv exhibition race takes place at The Thermal Club near Palm Springs, California, on NBC/Peacock Sunday, March 24. Dancing With the Stars celebrated Halloween on Monday night, and it was nothing short of a graveyard smash. (And not just because Sean Spicer performed to “Monster Mash,” which is a sentence I never thought I’d write.)
On the heels of Sailor Brinkley-Cook’s shocking elimination last week, the remaining Season 28 hopefuls had to raise their game this time around, and many of them brought Halloween treats to the dance floor this week.

Witney Carson, Alan Bersten, Sharna Burgess and Keo Motsepe are the four pros in the “Dancing with the Stars” final. Three of them, Bersten, Burgess and Motsepe, are seeking their first win, but a victory for two of them, Burgess and Motsepe, would be very, very sweet after some tough, long and unlucky roads.
Burgess is by far the most overdue of any pro still awaiting their first Mirrorball trophy. A pro since Season 16 and the only female pro this season who hasn’t won, she has three runner-up placements — Nick Carter (Season 21), James Hinchcliffe (Season 23) and Josh Norman (Season 26) — and one third-place finish, with Noah Galloway in Season 20. She may have won in any other season with these people — and even Charlie White, who had to settle for fifth place in Season 18 while the show pimped his ice dancing partner Meryl Davis and Maksim Chmerkovskiy — but she had the...

Will Sharna Burgess finally be the bride on “Dancing with the Stars” this season? That’s what our readers are hoping: 52 percent want her to take home the Mirrorball trophy for the first time.
Burgess, who’s partnered with Bobby Bones, is one of five pros left who’ve never won before, but she has the deepest resume of them all. A pro since Season 16, she’s has three runner-up placements — Nick Carter (Season 21), James Hinchcliffe (Season 23) and Josh Norman (Season 26) — and one third-place finish, with Noah Galloway in Season 20. Bones is certainly no lock for the final — he has the second lowest scores of the cast, but his unpredictable personality should buy them a few more weeks, and hopefully he can improve in that time. As long as he doesn’t piss off Burgess with his unplanned moves anymore.

The past three seasons of “Dancing with the Stars” were won by pros who had never won a Mirrorball trophy before: Emma Slater (Season 24), Lindsay Arnold (Season 25) and Jenna Johnson (Season 26). Will that streak continue this season? With Gleb Savchenko’s and Artem Chigvintsev’s exits, there are just five winless pros left. Which of them do you want to see go all the way?
Sharna Burgess is by far the most overdue. Dancing is such a demanding skill that any kind of physical limitation seems like it would be a deal-breaker, but not so. Double-amputees Amy Purdy (season 18) and Noah Galloway (season 20) were both finalists. Little person Terra Jole (season 23) made the top five. And deaf model Nyle Dimarco (season 22) actually won the Mirror Ball Trophy.
“DWTS” fans often rally around contestants with inspiring stories, whether they have overcome physical challenges like the above contestants, recovered from injuries like season 23 runner-up James Hinchcliffe, or committed acts of heroism like season 13 winner Jr Martinez...

If you could give the Mirrorball trophy to any of the remaining three pros on “Dancing with the Stars: Athletes,” it would definitely be Sharna Burgess. The two-time runner-up received 51 percent of the vote in a recent poll asking which pro you want to win.
That result is in line with the 64 percent of readers who earlier this season voted that Burgess deserved to win. None of the three have ever won before, but Burgess has the overdue factor. Currently in her 11th straight season, she is the veteran of the pro slate this season and is the only one of the final three who has made a final. In addition to her second-place finishes with Nick Carter (Season 21) and James Hinchcliffe (Season 23), she placed third with Noah Galloway in Season 20.
“I would love to see Sharna lift up that Mirrorball trophy! Honestly, she’s long overdue for a win.

Tonya Harding would probably tell you herself she’s the underdog in the “Dancing with the Stars: Athletes” final three. No one, not even she, thought she’d get this far. Our odds have her finishing in third, behind Josh Norman and frontrunner Adam Rippon, which would be a very good and respectable placement for someone many thought would and wanted to get the boot in the first episode. But could she actually go even further and claim the Mirrorball trophy? “Dancing” history shows that, more often than not, the final two tends to be a his-and-her battle.
In the show’s previous 25 seasons, 17 final twos have come down to a female and a male celebrity. The longest streak was eight seasons, from Season 5 through 12. Of these 17, the woman prevailed 10 times. While each season is a very specific case, this data isn’t that shocking; female dancers — whether the pro...

With Chris Mazdzer and Witney Carson’s elimination on Monday’s “Dancing with the Stars: Athletes,” we are guaranteed a new pro winner. Sharna Burgess, Sasha Farber and Jenna Johnson have never taken home the Mirrorball — and only one of them, Burgess, has even been to a final. Earlier this season, 64 percent of our readers said the two-time runner-up deserves to finally nab a victory, but who do you actually want to win?
Currently in her 11th straight season, Burgess is the longest tenured pro of this season’s cast. She has a third-place finish with Noah Galloway (Season 20) and two second-place finishes with Nick Carter (Season 21) and James Hinchcliffe (Season 23), so you could say she’s “earned” a win. “Dancing with the Stars” has had nine athlete runners-up and will add a 10th after this all-athletes season. Of those first nine, 34 percent of our readers voted in a recent poll that Shawn Johnson should’ve definitely won Season 15 with Derek Hough.
Johnson and Hough came in second to Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovolani on the all-stars season. The Olympic gymnast won Season 8 with Mark Ballas and was seeking to becoming the first celebrity to win two Mirroball trophies. Both couples received high marks throughout the season, but perhaps Johnson’s previous win (as well as Hough’s three wins) hurt them in the fan votes.
Twenty-five percent of our readers feel that James Hinchcliffe and Sharna Burgess were robbed of a win on Season 23. The IndyCar driver lost to Olympic gymnast Laurie Hernandez and Val Chmerkovskiy, who dominated the season.

The “Dancing with the Stars: Athletes” cast is finally out — and we have thoughts. We’ve got six Olympians on deck — including three figure skaters — two basketball players, a baseball player and your requisite football player. It’s anyone’s game (pun intended) — or is it? Some of these folks have some obvious and not-so-obvious advantages over the others and in a shortened four-week season, that could mean a lot. So before anyone takes their first dance, let’s take a closer look at the cast.

‘Dancing with the Stars’ has seen 10 athletes lift the Mirrorball trophy and almost nearly as many athletes came thisclose to getting their hands on it. Nine athletes have finished in second place on the show — some of them even losing to fellow athletes. Some of these losses were expected, some were close calls, but which of these runners-up deserved the win the most?

The IndyCar driver-turned-reality star won California’s coveted Toyota Long Beach Grand Prix, marking his first win since his near-fatal accident in 2015. “To finally do what was the goal No. 1 when we set out at the start of the season, to get back into winner’s circle, to do so as early in the season as we have, as convincingly as we did, was great,” he said after winning the historic street.

Bonner Bolton had a rough night on Monday's Dancing With the Stars, but his partner, Sharna Burgess, isn't going to let it get him down.
The pair were slammed by the judges for their Charleston -- set to "A Little Party Never Killed Nobody" by Fergie, Q-Tip & GoonRock -- which was especially challenging for Bolton, given his physical limitations following a near-paralyzing bull riding accident he suffered a little over a year ago.
For their efforts, Burgess and Bolton were awarded a score of 24 out of 40, putting them at the bottom of the pack alongside Mr. T and Charo -- who was eliminated at the end of Monday's episode.

When the cast for season 23 was announced in August, it was pretty clear who the front-runner was: Laurie Hernandez.
The effervescent Olympian had everything a winner needs. Natural athletic ability? Check. Insane work ethic? Check. Winning personality? Double check.
And when Hernandez first took to the ballroom for a cha-cha with her pro partner Valentin Chermkovskiy, she did not disappoint.
“You are awesome. That was so wonderful. You lit up this room,” judge Carrie Ann Inaba. “You just have this incredible sparkle.

*Caution: Spoilers ahead!*
Night one of Dancing With the Stars’ two-night finale aired Monday, and with only four amazing stars remaining, it was going to be sad to see anyone get eliminated.
After a night of lukewarm "redemption" dances -- where stars got a chance to re-do a dance style that they'd previously performed -- and four amazing freestyle performances, there was no clear choice for elimination between Laurie Hernandez, Calvin Johnson Jr., James Hinchcliffe and Jana Kramer.
After it was announced that Hernandez and Johnson were safe and would be moving on to the final round of finals, it all came down to Kramer and Hinchcliffe, who'd both delivered a slew of perfectly-scored dances throughout the season.
However, when it came right down to it, Kramer couldn't compete with Hinchcliffe's amazing comeback story and the 32-year-old singer was sent packing, along with her pro-partner, Gleb Savchenko.
