- Marc Daly is an Irish camera operator and stills photographer. He most recently worked on Lord of Tears (2013).
Daly grew up in the seaside town of Dungarvan, Waterford on the south east coast of Ireland, and is the eldest of three siblings (he has a brother and a sister, the writer and singer 'Sarah Daly (III)' qv)
He studied computing at the Waterford Regional Technical College (now WIT), and afterwards moved into journalism and design as Editor of the college newspaper.
During his time as Editor, Daly also worked on the college radio station as a presenter and a DJ.
He began his photographic career taking pictures for the newspaper then expanded into selling stock images through an online agency. As video functionality became available on consumer DSLRs Daly began experimenting with creating and editing moving images.
Since then he has provided video content for the production company Hitrecord, headed by Joseph Gordon-Levitt and most recently, worked as 2nd Unit cinematographer and stills photographer on the indie horror feature Lord of Tears (2013).- IMDb Mini Biography By: Marc Daly
- Marc attended St. Augustine's secondary school in Dungarvan, Ireland. The school is also known locally as the Friary.
- Marc has a younger sister Sarah Daly who has written scripts directed by and starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt and acted in by Channing Tatum and Alexandra Hulme. She has also scripted and produced several indie features and shorts, and has released an album of original songs.
- Marc has worked as a college newspaper editor, journalist, web and graphic designer, technical writer, photographer, radio chat show host, mobile phone app coder, training designer, technical support agent and in a fish processing plant.
- Marc taught himself to program in BBC Basic when he was ten years old, from a book in his local library. He didn't actually own a computer until he was fourteen.
