Corine Shawi directed her first feature documentary Les Femmes bonnes from 2000 to 2006 observing the life of Doulika between Lebanon and Sri Lanka.
She then directed several short documentaries: Oxygen urges her family to discuss a taboo matter, Affinity reflects on friendship's boundaries, Film of welcome and farewells depicts loneliness in Copenhagen, I love you forever unfolds the strange story of two old sisters. Her second feature documentary e muet, deals with friendship, love and its expression. Perhaps what I fear does not exist is her most recent feature film about time and change shot over a period of 4 years with her family in various hospitals.
Besides making her own films, Corine also directs corporate & portrait films. She has worked with Absolut Vodka, directing the civil love campaign winner of Bronze Lion award at Cannes Lions 2020, Chivas Venture, Bellevue Medical Center, Domaine des tourelles winery and Ocean Spray, to name a few.
She has been a consultant for the National Film School of Denmark to implement an exchange program of filmmakers between Lebanon and Denmark. She has also been teaching documentary filmmaking since 2011 at Saint Joseph University - Lebanon.
