- He is the founding member and President of the Kentuckiana Cinematography Club (KCC) that began in 2005 and now has thousands of members in over 100+ nations around the world. The club welcomes new members of the entertainment community to network and interact with tenured members so those life-skills can be imparted to one another.
- Brennan's parents have been in films and they have IMDB pages as well. Francis Joseph Callan and Virginia Rae Callan.
- His mom's cousin is James Wolford Hardin (Actor, Writer, Producer, Director). Virginia Rae Callan and Jim have worked together on various film projects with Brennan James Callan. Another cousin who has worked with Brennan on many productions is actress Judy Crippin.
- Brennan is a Certified Underwater Archaeologist (1998) and was Certified in Electronics Repairs (1985). Then he earned a Technical Certificate in Design Technology in 2015 at Ivy Tech Community College so he can design aviation/aerospace safety equipment due to the death of Ryan Mouritsen in 2009.
- Brennan's professional cinematography career began in 1984 when he was employed by Mr. Gatti's Pizza to produce videos for groups that came into the restaurant to patronize the restaurant and watch their events. He helped his cousin's store become the nation's most productive Mr. Gatti's Pizza due to the vast numbers of crowds attending the restaurant. This method positively impacted Brennan's persistence toward getting the shot right IMMEDIATELY and QUICKLY compared to how most filmmakers waste far too long setting up shots.
- Brennan joined the Delta Chi Fraternity at University of Louisville in the fall of 1986. This is the same fraternity that Filmmakers/Actors/Writers/Producers: Kevin Costner (California Fullerton, 1977); G.D. Spradlin, (Oklahoma, 1941); and Ashton Kutcher, (Iowa 2000) were initiated. Other fraternity brothers: Alan Heitz and Sascha Turnheim.
Then there were others from Delta Chi in film/entertainment: William Aldrich, (Nebraska 1916); Rick Arredondo, (Abracadabra 1983); John Bender, (Iowa 1978); Stuart Berkowitz, (Florida 1994); Fred Clark, (Standford 1935); James Cross, (Ohio State 1989); Michael Cutler, (Abracadabra 1982); Lance Fink, (Oregon State 1993); Eddie Fitch, (Southern California 1931); Kirk Fogg, (Fullerton 1981); Thomas Graeff, (UCLA 1952); Walter Greaza, (Minnesota 1918); Karl Herlinger, (UCLA 1936); Brian Hunt, (Fullerton 1988); Kenneth Johnson, (USC 1938); Rowland Kerr, (Long Beach Alumnus); Thomas McCarey, (USC, 1917); B Mike McGreal, (Southern California 1928); Darren Moores, (Western Illinois 1994); Ralph Morgan, (NYU Law 1905); John Morley, (Osgoode Hall, 1933); Kurt Schmaljohn, (Northwest Missouri 1992); Lynwood Spinks, (Auburn 1974); Anthony Turk, (Minnesota 1990); Eddy Van Guyse, (Indiana 1972); David Walmsley, (Cornell 1989); Jack Williams, (Southern California 1941); Dick Winslow (Richard Johnson), (Southern California 1937); and Todd Zuvich, (Chicago 1997).
Brennan served as the Vice-President "B" two times; Secretary "C" once; as well as many other positions. Around 1990, Brennan secured getting a chapter house for free at Crittenden Drive. and Lilly St. (Louisville, KY), in trade for fixing up the building and keeping it safely occupied. Years after the chapter folded, that house was demolished as it was just too old to maintain. It is now a grass yard.
Before that, he helped the Chapter maintain the Delta Chi House that was on Floyd Street just east of Eastern Parkway intersects. The house was removed by the University of Louisville so that Papa John's Pizza could build a restaurant at that precise location.
Brennan was the first Delta Chi Alumnus in Kentucky to be initiated in the early 1990s once the new ceremony was created. He attended Ohio State University's first alumni ceremony to be initiated. - Brennan was in Alpha Phi Omega (National Service Fraternity) at the University of Louisville (1986-2001). That chapter is known as the "Delta Theta Chapter.".
- In 2013 and 2015, Brennan attended Louisville Metro Police: Citizens Police Academy Courses. As an actor, these courses, combined with the fact that Brennan had been employed by the University of Louisville Cardinal Patrol (Campus Security); then combined with his BS-Degree in Justice Administration makes him a "Criminologist." Furthermore, he holds an AA-Degree in Paralegal Studies. Beyond all of that, he has extensive Admiralty and Maritime Law Training from Tulane Maritime Law School. Exceeding that, his legal training from the Federal Bar Association, Louisville Bar Association, and multiple other legal training services means that Brennan has first hand academic training that would help him act in the roles that future productions might demand of him.
- Brennan joined Alpha Psi Omega, (Theater Honor Society--Fraternity) at the University of Louisville. He paid his dues to join and the chapter lasted about one semester, therefore, he never learned if the officers ran away with the dues or if he was fully initiated. This fraternal experience seemed rather incomplete and he never heard from any of these folks after about 1991ish. It would be great to learn what happened!.
- Brennan's Underwater Archaeological research on the inland waterways of the USA have had him canoeing most of the rivers in Kentucky and West Virginia, but also canoeing in Ohio and Indiana. His research began in 1990. In 1995, he already was using Global Position Systems (GPS) that were integrated into his sonar unit so that when he found wrecked vessels, then the waypoints could be immediately marked for future research.
- Brennan has invented aviation/aerospace safety equipment called AIRBAGS FOR ULTRALIGHTS due to the death of his dear friend, Ryan Mouritsen (actor, writer, producer). It is his goal to make Light Sport Aviation safer in honor of the untimely death of Ryan. Additionally, Brennan is researching and writing an AVIATION POETRY BOOK that will include non-religious memorial templates for the book that will help the friends and family of pilots, crew members, passengers, and others who love aviation. As Ryan Mouritsen was a Hollywood writer, then this writing project is another way to honor him. More important that just claiming, "I will always remember him," is the need to carry on positively in ways that would have occurred if Ryan Mouritsen survived. "Actively honoring him means knowing his wishes, hopes, and dreams well-enough to ensure those things still are accomplished even though he is no longer here to see our efforts".
- Brennan is a descendant of the Goose (German spelling "Ganz," "Gantz," and "Gans") family. Her cousin (Jockey) Roscoe Tarleton Goose "The Golden Goose," won the 1913 Kentucky Derby in the same year Roscoe's younger brother, (Jockey) Carl Seay Goose "Ganz" won the Kentucky Oaks Race. Their cousin, Meriwether Lewis Clark, Jr. was the Founder and President of the Louisville Jockey Club (now known as Churchill Downs--he started the Kentucky Derby in 1875 and it is the oldest sporting event continuously run in the world). Clark is the grandson of General William Clark (of "Lewis & Clark" fame--"Corps of Discovery.") They have many other famous cousins.
This method positively impacted Brennan's persistence toward getting the shot right rapidly compared to how most filmmakers waste far too long setting up shots.
Brennan's parents have been in films and they have IMDB pages as well. Francis Joseph Callan and Virginia Rae Callan. - In most of the projects that Brennan produces, you should look to see where there is the "Illinois Regimental Flag" that is a replica of what his distant cousins, General George Rogers Clark and General Benjamin Logan used in battle against the British during the American Revolutionary War. The flag is to honor his cousins' struggles to free the United States from the British tyranny. The flag is reproduced for various local, state, and national parks that all detail the history of Generals Clark and Logan. About a five-state region was cleared of the British due to their efforts. Brennan wants people to know about his family history and heritage, therefore, where ever and when ever possible, he will have a 3' x 5' version of the flag; or a guidon flag size that is about 1.5' x 2', or a desk flag that is about 4" x 5.5". These flags have seven red horizontal strips with six green horizontal stripes. Another proud cousin of the Clark family is actress Jane Wyatt.

- A distant cousin on his mom's side of the family is Actress Jane Wyatt. David Francis Callan is related to General George Rogers Clark (founder of Louisville, Kentucky; Revolutionary War Hero), General William Clark (of "Lewis & Clark" fame--Corps of Discovery, Governor of Missouri), and General Jonathon Clark (Revolutionary War Hero). Jane Wyatt's great-great-great-grandmother, Lucy Croghan, was the sister of General George Rogers Clark, who died at Lucy Croghan's plantation house "Locust Grove" in Louisville, KY.
His mom's cousin is James Wolford Hardin (Actor, Writer, Producer, Director). Virginia Rae Callan and Jim have worked together on various film projects with Brennan James Callan. - The Callan family has at least 18 Kentucky Counties named for their cousins. Some of the family began arriving in 1774, when the Commonwealth of Kentucky was still part of the Commonwealth of Virginia. There are many cities, streams, post offices, rivers, streets, and other unique things named after the various cousins.
- In 2013 and 2015, Brennan was trained by the Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) in the "Citizens Police Academy." In his background, Brennan served in four years of Air Force Junior ROTC, three years with the Kentucky Air National Guard (KY ANG), and his degrees in Justice Administration and Paralegal Studies, also combined with attending Tulane Maritime Law School (Continuing Legal Education seminars); the Federal Bar Association seminars; Louisville Bar Association seminars; Kentucky Bar Association seminars; and other related professional legal seminars all prepares Brennan in case he needs to portray a legal professional in motion pictures. In 2015, Brennan also began assisting the Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) by training officers at their Firearms Training Center (gun range). They train for "Active Aggressor" scenarios at other locations such as college campuses. He helps to train the SWAT, EMS, Police, Fire, and Bomb Squad teams.
LMPD has him serving as a role player for tactical training scenarios. This training helps officers practice building searches, tactical approaches, and victim retrieval, interviewing skills, and situational awareness. - Brennan holds the title of "Kentucky Colonel" which comes from the Governor of Kentucky, and that makes him a member of the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels. Brennan's two old brothers, David Francis Callan, and Brian Raymond Callan also hold those titles.
- Brennan passed his Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) REMOTE PILOT CERTIFICATION exam, 23 February 2019. While he has performed aerial filmography and still photography since 1981, now Brennan can use "small Unmanned Aerial Systems" (sUAS).
