The story was originally published in 1990 on "Spot n° 2" and in the same year it won the Best Screenplay award at Lucca Comics.
In 1995 "Ratman", the super-hero Ortolani created as parody of the most iconic Marvel's characters, became an independent comic-book. 2 years later and Panini Comics started to print "Ratman Collection". The comic-series lasted 20 years: the 122nd and last comic-book was published in 2017.
After the end of the "Ratman Collection" series, Leo Ortolani continued to publish comic works as "Il Buio in Sala" (2016), "C'è spazio per tutti" (2017) or "Cinzia" (2018). This works have similar character and humor to same of his most iconic parodies, such as "Star Rats" (1999-2020), and the comic-strips "Venerdì 12" (1996-2004), "Quelli di Parma" (1993-1997) and "L'ultima burla" (1993-2012).
In 2020 he realized a comic-journey on the pandemic way of life of North Italian citizen named "Andrà tutto bene". The comic-book was not originally planed and was created as web-comic strips did during the first Italian Lockdown.
