Filmmakers could spend the next decade highlighting the mounting horrors of influencer culture, especially with standout dissections like Alex Henes and Matthew Merenda’s Mind Body Spirit. The filmmaking duo organically recreates a hopeful celebrity vlogger’s downward spiral with the utmost Screenlife dedication. Henes and Merenda make tremendous use of a single-location California estate that never feels overused, while cinematography stays cleanly static when recreating YouTube-ready shooting styles. Where other Screenlife titles get bogged down in the technical nitty-gritty, Mind Body Spirit centers on an effortlessly zen production that becomes a haunting supernatural confrontation no positive mental attitude can exorcise.

Elvis Presley‘s “One Night” played into the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll‘s image as a sex symbol. Ironically, it was a rewrite of a song about sexual shame. Here’s a look at what a songwriter thought when Elvis changed his track.
The 1st version of Elvis Presley’s ‘One Night’ was inspired by a schoolteacher’s desires
Numerous Elvis hits were originally by other artists. The first singer to record “One Night” was rhythm and blues singer Smiley Lewis. The tune was penned by Dave Bartholomew, who also wrote Chuck Berry’s “My Ding-a-Ling.”
During a 1985 interview with the Los Angeles Times, Bartholomew discussed the inspiration behind “One Night.” “There was a very nice young lady who lived in Mobile, Alabama, a schoolteacher,” he recalled. “I used to go with her sister.
“At dinner one night, she mentioned — out of a clear blue sky — she had only...

Glenn Danzig has always been inspired by classic rock and he took that to a new level by recording an entire album of Elvis Presley songs. One of the tracks on the album was a rendition of Elvis’ “One Night,” which he had covered before. Notably, Elvis was not the first artist to record “One Night.” The tune’s writer revealed what he thought of the “I Want You, I Need You, I Love You” singer’s rendition.
Glenn Danzig covered Elvis Presley’s ‘One Night’ several times
Danzig first became famous through his punk band The Misfits. Since then, he’s also been part of the groups Samhain and Danzig. With the latter group, he released an Elvis cover album simply called Danzig Sings Elvis. The record includes a recording of the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll‘s “One Night.”

If you've seen The Lego Movie, starring Chris Pratt (voice), Elizabeth Banks (voice) and Will Ferrell then chances are you know the song "Everything Is Awesome." While you may remember it as being an ultra-upbeat pop track with nothing but lyrics about "blue skies, bouncy springs" and endless partying, you may be surprised to learn that writing the tune was anything but. In theory, the songwriting process for The Lego Movie's theme song seems like it would have been a blast. Well I hate to burst bubbles but it turns out everything was Not awesome for one of the track's songwriters, Mr. Shawn Patterson, who co-wrote the now-infamous tune with Joshua Bartholomew, Lisa Harriton and The Lonely Island. Patterson explained what made the process of writing "Everything Is Awesome" so excruciatingly painful for him in an interview with THR: I was going through a very ugly divorce when I...

The fifth annual Hollywood Music in Media Awards were held Tuesday night at The Fonda Theatre in Hollywood. "Birdman" composer Antonio Sanchez walked away with top film honors while "How to Train Your Dragon 2" and "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug" also brought home awards. "It’s about time drummers get some love — now we have 'Birdman' and 'Whiplash,'" Sanchez said. "This is shaping up to be our year!" The animated film score prize was handed out for the first time ever and is a nice boost for "Dragon 2's" John Powell, who picked up an Oscar nomination for the first film in the series four years ago. Song prizes went to "Lost Stars" from "Begin Again" (with Gregg Alexander performing for the first time in 15 years) and "Everything is Awesome" from "The Lego Movie."
