Lydia McGee has worked as a Production Marketing Director for Starland
Studios in Bogart (south of Athens, Georgia) as well as
Owner/CEO/Producer of her own multi-media production company, Cool
Motivations Productions, LLC , and has partnered with Paranormal
Reality TV to provide new content, product placement , advertising and
ad campaigns . She is an Executive Producer on Spirit of an Outlaw,
which is a current western feature film with a 23 million dollar budget
to be shot in northwest Georgia in spring of 2014 as well as other
features; Precious Cargo and Ligit Boyz. She is Associate Producer on
Santa's Bootcamp, Producer of an upcoming original television series
River as well as Producer on twelve other independent films in
different stages of production.
Other feature film credits; lst Assistant Director on The Gift. Lydia has worked as a lst Assistant Director on many shorts; The Disconnect, Instinct and Trafik which have been shot New Mexico, Georgia and Austin, Texas where she began working in film when independent film was making a name for itself having worked with Richard Linklater, Quentin Tarrantino and Robert Rodriquez through the growth of the Austin Film Society. Lydia moved to Georgia a year and a half ago seeing the rapid growth in film. Lydia has also worked in the radio, television and film field for many years in the sales and production side of all of it including commercials for homebuilders, non-profit organizations for website streaming and fund-raising and music videos; Vertigo Girl, but loves the creative side of film the most having written one play; Far Out and two screenplays; Life's A Gas and Don't Do Normal as well as an episode of Seinfeld with a screen writing group in Austin, TX. Lydia currently has taken on many other projects such as films, TV pilots and an app company in different stages of development for funding and distribution.
Lydia began building stages in her garage at the age of 8 years old and directing talent shows and plays. She began a photography business at an early age and was inducted in the Quill & Honor Society in high school.
While juggling all of these visual projects, Lydia enjoys painting, hiking, swimming, traveling and working with film students and has taught filmmaking to special education students in middle school. Having a B.A. in Liberal Arts in Psychology from The University of Texas in Austin, Texas in 1983 has allowed Lydia to work in various capacities to help tell a visual story for herself and others. She is the mother of three daughters; Courtney, Giovanna and Meredith and a son-in-law, Chris and her first grandson, Colt.
