In the last 20 years, Yvonne has worked on more than 20 documentary series for the Canadian television as director. These series, broadcast in several American and European countries, have been rewarded with numerous nominations but moreover, they had a major impact on a wide audience.
Yvonne's natural empathy and curiosity towards everything that deals with human nature had led her to shoot widely on the five continents of the planet. Among her recent productions, one can find, among others: Marchés sur Terre, a documentary series filmed throughout the world's fabulous markets like Incense in Oman, Silk in Ouzbekistan or Tea in China. In Des écoles pas comme les autres, we go back to schools like no others: Sumo in Japan or Bollywood in India.
It is with great simplicity that Yvonne is dealing with sensitive matters. For example, Le sexe autour du monde is lifting the veil on sexual behaviors, couple relations and the emotion of love in various countries and different cultures such as Senegal, Turkey, Korea, Australia and many more.
In 2017, she directed her first feature-length documentary film, Vieux, that depict how oldies are coping according to the country they're living in: 4 destinies from Senegal, China, Sri Lanka and Sweden.
Entangled Powers (2018) is her second feature-length documentary.
