It’s Monday Tuesday (we took Mon off for New Years!) so you know what that means, it’s time for our weekly review of Aew: Rampage! This week’s show – a New Year’s Smash special – was broadcast from the Addition Financial Arena in Orlando, Florida and featured Excalibur and Tony Schiavone on commentary. Now let’s get to the review…
Match #1: Ruby Soho def. Marina Shafir The following is courtesy of allelitewrestling.com:
Ruby dodged a kick from Marina and then grabbed Marina by the hair, pulling her down to the mat. Marina fired back with vicious kicks. Harley grabbed at Marina’s leg and Ruby tripped Marina, taking advantage of the distraction. Marina smashed Ruby with a running lariat. She followed up with a backbreaker to Ruby. Marina dropkicked Ruby. Saraya jumped onto the ring apron, but Nyla yanked her down. Harley flung herself onto Nyla’s back,...

Welcome to this week’s review of Aew: Dynamite, which was broadcast live from the Now Arena in Chicago. We’ve got Excalibur, Tony Schiavone and Taz on commentary so let’s get into the review!
Match #1: Jon Moxley def. Komander The following is courtesy of allelitewrestling.com:
Moxley wiped out Komander with a big boot as the bell rang. Moxley jabbed and chopped at Komander in the corner turnbuckles. Komander fired back with head scissors. He jumped off the top rope and connected with a high cross body press to Moxley on the arena floor. Back in the ring, Moxley dug his nails into Komander, clawing at his back. Komander missed a Cancun Tornado, as Moxley moved out of the way. Komander countered a powerbomb with a facebuster to Mox. Komander nailed Moxley with clotheslines, but Moxley didn’t budge. Match #1: Royal Rampage – Winner: Darby Allin
My Thoughts: For those unaware what a “Royal Rampage” match is… well, due to the fact Rampage was taped at the same time as this week’s Blood and Guts episode of Dynamite the show had two rings. One red ring and one blue ring, both featuring different wrestlers taking part in two simultaneous “royal rumble” style matches. Which means the camera misses the majority of the action until the number of men in the ring is whittled down enough. It’s even worse than trying to follow a One ring Royal Rumble! Eventually...

Alex Reynolds and Nick Jackson locked up. Nick hit a shoulder tackle and Reynolds reciprocated. Alex took a shot at Hangman on the apron. Page insisted that Nick tag him in. Page did a moonsault of the ring post to Alex Reynolds on the arena floor. Matt Jackson tagged and blasted Alex with the locomotion Northern Lights suplexes. Match #1: The Acclaimed & Billy Gunn def. Rush, Preston Vance & Dralistico
My Thoughts: This was another average match from The Acclaimed who don’t seem to be able to kick things into top gear at all recently. Every match feels like the trio of Max Caster, Anthony Bowens and Billy Gunn are just going through the motions and sticking to a Very familiar playbook that gets them over with live audience but does nothing for them personally. Another week, another episode of Aew: Dark which this week features seven matches. Let’s see what went down…
Match #1: Juice Robinson def. Pat Buck
My Thoughts: Pat Buck, back in the ring? Yes, the man who’s spent most of the recent years behind the scenes in both Aew and previously WWE, gets in front of the camera for a match against Bullet Club Gold’s Juice Robinson and big things were, honestly, expected. Yet whilst it was a solid match it didn’t set the world on fire. Great opener for Dark though!
My Score: 3 out of 5 Match #2: The Renegades def. Kiah Dream & Brittany J

Match #1: Butcher, Blade and Kip Sabian def. Shunma Katsumata, Yuki Ueno and Mao
My Thoughts: It’s great to see some more Ddt talent making their way to the US and appearing in Aew – after all it worked out Great for Takeshita! Having the trio of Katsumata, Ueno and Mao face three long-standing and talented Aew veterans like The Butcher and The Blade and Kip Sabian made a lot of sense too. Shame the crowd wasn’t into this one though.

Match #1: Sammy Guevera def. Konesuke Takeshita
My Thoughts: When Sammy Guevara isn’t messing around with the Jsa or p*ssing off fans with over-the-top affection to his wife Tay Melo on TV he Can actually wrestle. And thankfully that’s what happened here, as Gueara and Takeshita really delivered a great opening match. I wouldn’t have had Takeshita lose, but as other have noted – he probably lost to push the Don Callis angle. Which I guess I can live with, if it means Takeshita gets to the next level in Aew.

Another week, another episode of Aew: Dark which once again this week features a whopping Nine matches – where’s the swift and fun five-match card gone?! Anyway, on with the review…
Match #1: Ar Fox def. Nick Comoroto
My Thoughts: Good god, this was an unexpectedly great match! I honestly didn’t think we’d see a match this good from Nick Comoroto. Ever. Kudos to Ar Fox for getting such a good performance from Comoroto, making both of them look fantastic come the match’s conclusion.
My Score: 3.5 out of 5 Match #2: Skye Blue def. Queen Aminata
My Thoughts: And you can repeat everything I said about the Fox/Comoroto match for this match too. Queen Aminata has always stood out from the enhancement talent Aew bring in to face their performers and here she got a great match out of Skye Blue, easily one of her best matches in the company so far.

Match #1: Tony Nese and Ari Daivari def. Lane Summers and Campbell Myers
My Thoughts: This was an incredibly dull opening match and a squash match at that too. Nese and Daivari are, unfortunately, pretty much charisma-free and that doesn’t help their matches in the slightest; and with this match we didn’t even get any words from Mark Sterling to cover that fact up!

Match #1: Emi Sakura def. Zyra
My Thoughts: Once again Emi Sakura lets her opponent show what she’s got in a quasi-squash match for Aew. Sakura could totally dominate her opponents week after week but the fact she doesn’t says a lot about the wrestler she is. I’m digging this singles run Sakura is on right now too!

My Score: 2.5 out of 5 Match #2: Brian Cage def. Rob McKnight
My Thoughts: Now This was a squash match! Everything Rob McKnight tried to do was totally no-sold by Cage, who eventually trapped McKnight in the King Kong Clutch for the win.

Match #1: Emi Sakura def. Rachelle Riveter
My Thoughts: Nice to see Emi Sakura Open an episode of Elevation, though as usual she’s squashing her opponent. Well I say this is a squash, but this is the trademark-pending “Aew quasi-squash”, with Sakura giving Rachelle Riveter just enough space to get some offence in and not look totally weak. Which, if I’m honest, is always a trait of Sakura’s matches – she allows her opponent, no matter who it is, to show off their skills. Unlike some other people on the roster!

Claudio blasted Butcher with European Uppercuts. Mox tagged in and peppered Butcher with kicks. Yuta grabbed a tag but Butcher back body dropped Yuta and then walloped Yuta with a running crossbody. Match #1: Emi Sakura, Marina Shafir and Nyla Rose def. Johnnie Robbie, Vipress and Zyra
My Thoughts: This match saw a return to the Shafir/Rose/Vickie squabbles that we’ve seen previously – they’re obviously building to the split between the trio but at the same time I’ve enjoyed the teaming of Nyla Rose’s intensity with Vickie Guerrero’s brash attitude and I’ll miss it when the split does happen. As for this match? It felt more like an angle than a match but still, an Aew quasi-squash is still an Aew quasi-squash!

Another week, another episode of Aew: Dark which this week features seven matches… Including a Women’s Roh title match! Anyway, on with the review.
Match #1: Juice Robinson def. Travis Williams
My Thoughts: Juice Robinson makes another appearance for Aew and faces some decent competition in Travis Williams. This was a well-paced, competitive, start to Dark.
My Score: 3 out of 5 Match #2: Ruby Soho & Willow Nightingale def. Emi Sakura & Diamante
My Thoughts: The new team of Ruby Soho & Willow Nightingale get another outing, this time against the heel team of Emi Sakura & Diamante, who have worked together before and delivered each and every time. And the same is the case here, with Soho and Nightgale really gelling – I’d definitely like to see them stay together as a team for a while longer even though I’d like to see Willow Nightingale make her way up the singles scene too.

Welcome back to another review of Aew Dark: Elevation, which features 11 matches on this week’s show – urghhhh, I’m not a fan of these longer cards, especially given most matches are usually squashes! We’ve got Paul Wight and Matt Menard on commentary, so let’s get into the review.
Match #1: Brian Cage def. Schaff
My Thoughts: As this started I thought “here we go, another Brian Cage squash” but that is Not what we got! The crowd in attendance were clearly behind Schaff and so we actually got something of a competitive match, with Cage letting Schaff showcase his stuff for those unfamiliar with his work. In the end that made for a great match!
My Score: 3 out of 5 Match #2: The Kingdom (Matt Taven and Mike Bennett) def. Bollywood Boyz (Harv and Gurv)

Welcome back to another review of Aew Dark: Elevation, which features 9 matches on this week’s show – the first Elevation of 2022! We’ve got Paul Wight and Matt Menard on commentary, so let’s get into the review.
Match #1: Hikaru Shida def. Tyra Russamee
My Thoughts: This was a typical Aew squash match of the highest order, with Tyra Russamee taking a beating from Shida – only avoiding Shida rather than offering any of her own offence.
My Score: 1 out of 5 Match #2: Varsity Athletes (Tony Nese and Josh Woods) def. Pillars of Destiny (Hunter Grey and Paul Titan)
My Thoughts: This was decidedly average. Both teams seemed to struggle making this one feel like a smooth wrestling match and instead felt too scrappy to make any impact.

Welcome back to another review of Aew Dark: Elevation, which this week keeps the match count low, with only 7 matches on this week’s show – the last Elevation of 2022! We’ve got Paul Wight on commentary, so let’s get into the review.
Match #1: Nyla Rose and Marina Shafir def. Leva Bates and Karizma
My Thoughts: This felt very much like Nyla Rose and Marina Shafir going through the motions, as if this was either put together at the last minute or the duo were off their game – which is odd given how good they’ve been together recently. Still, a squash is a squash.
My Score: 1 out of 5 Match #2: Julia Hart def. Promise Braxton
My Thoughts: Julia Hart gets another singles match and it’s another quick squash match to help build Hart into the kind of monster she needs to be as part of the House of Black.

Another week, another episode of Aew: Dark which this week is a stacked show – not only do we have eleven matches on this card we have appearances by the likes of Kenny Omega, who hasn’t wrestled on Dark in almost Two years! On with the review…
Match #1: Kenny Omega def. Hagane Shinno
My Thoughts: Hagane Shinno’s profile has been slowly building over the weeks until this, what would be a main event match if it was anyone Other than Shinno. Instead he gets to take on Kenny Omega in the opening match of Dark. And Kenny was very giving here, letting Shinno get some near falls and plenty of offence in. A cracking opening to this week’s show.

Match #1: Nick Comoroto def. Hagane Shinno
My Thoughts: Interesting to see Comoroto booked as a monster once again, with Shinno booked as the plucky underdog who could not get the big man down. That’s not to say Shinno didn’t put in the effort but it was like watching a fly trying to beatdown a bulldog! Comoroto spent a bit too much time playing to the crowd but still, this was an Ok start to the show.

Match #1: The Bunny def. Blain Onyx
My Thoughts: The Bunny took control of this one for the get-go, only “letting” Blain Onyx get a few hits in so it didn’t look like she totally folded. But otherwise this was a complete and total squash.
My Score: 1 out of 5 Match #2: Brandon Cutler def. Man Scout

Another week, another episode of Aew: Dark which features 7 matches on the card this week (thankfully; I do love a shorter show)… On with the review!
Match #1: Varsity Athletes (Tony Nese & Josh Woods) def. Rosario Grillo & Dean Alexander
My Thoughts: This was a decent opening match for this week’s show, with Nese and Woods running roughshod over their competition. Still, a dumb name though, even if they did “win” it from the Varsity Blonds.
My Score: 2.5 out of 5 Match #2: Willow Nightingale def. Marina Shafir
My Thoughts: Who would’ve thought that it would take Willow Nightingale to get a great match out of Marina Shafir?! Good to see such a good match and Willow get the win!
My Score: 3 out of 5 Match #3: Wheeler Yuta def. Km

My Thoughts: Danhausen manages to get a win after losing to Qt Marshall on Elevation. Though it was againzt jobber Jon Cruz, who was last seen on Dark getting quickly squashed by The Butcher (way back in 2021). Still it’s always great to see Danhausen in action. Always.
My Score: 2.5 out of 5 Match #2: The Embassy def. Fuego Del Sol and Waves & Curls

My Thoughts: Two matches in a row for Archer, this was even more of a squash than his Elevation match this week! Odin did get a move or two in but this was very much Archer’s match.
My Score: 1 out of 5 Match #2: Penelope Ford, Serena Deeb and Jamie Hayter def. Jordan Blade, Trish Adora and Brittany Blake
My Thoughts: I was totally surprised to see that this match Wasn’T a squash – as it certainly looked like it would be on paper. Thankfully this instead was a well-fought, competitive match – one that really showcased the trio of heels to perfection.

My Thoughts: We’re in quasi-squash territory for this one. Unfortunately Shafir hasn’t lived up to her potential so far but there’s still time for her to develop in matches like this or… Maybe its time to get Shafir a manager as a mouth piece? Her in-rings skills are fine but she seems to get distracted by the storytelling aspects of wrestling.

My Thoughts: I’m in a constant state of worry about the current 4-man roster of the Dark Order. It seems like the further away from the death of Brodie Lee, the more Tony Khan seems to be abandoning this team. I do sometimes wonder if not for their connection to Hangman Page, would they all still be in Aew? All Elite Wrestling star Jade Cargill gave fans another stunning look at her impressive physique during a sauna session. Pic credit: All Elite Wrestling/YouTube

In the three images, she kept her hands behind her head for the powerful poses to help show off those sculpted arms with her biceps and triceps popping.

Welcome to this week’s review of Aew Dark: Elevation, the opening salvo in the Aew wrestling week. We’ve got a new duo on commentary this week, Excalibur and Matt Menard..?! Let’s see what the show has to offer.
Match #1: Josh Woods and Tony Nese def. Arik Cannon and Tristan Davis
My Thoughts: Dull quasi-squash and a waste of the talent involved.

My Thoughts: Fun multi-man squash. Dark ORder did their thing with aplomb as usual.
My Score: 1 out of 5 Match #3: Serena Deeb def. Sierra
My Thoughts: Sierra put in a decent showing last week and despite facing the queen of the enhancement talent squash, she also managed to showcase herself her too, breaking out of a number of Deeb’s moves. More from Sierra please Tony Khan!
Match #1: Josh Woods and Tony Nese def. Arik Cannon and Tristan Davis
My Thoughts: Dull quasi-squash and a waste of the talent involved.
My Score: 1 out of 5 Match #2: Dark Order def. Tug Cooper, Drew System, Rylie Jackson and Adam Grace
My Thoughts: Fun multi-man squash. Dark ORder did their thing with aplomb as usual.

Another week, another episode of Aew: Dark which emanates from Grand Rapids, Michigan – which means this was taped at the same time as this past weekend’s Battle of the Belts special. We’ve got Taz and Excalibur on commentary as usual so let’s get to the action!
Match #1: Private Party, The Butcher & The Blade def. Isaiah Broner, James Alexander, Brayden Lee, & Sam Moore
My Thoughts: So we open Dark with an 8-man quasi-squash match. Hey, at least Private Party, The Butcher & The Blade are getting “TV” time right? Right..? It seems both teams are floundering somewhat after the end of the Hfo/Ahfo so to see them in action is good, even more so when the in-ring action is good too!
My Score: 2.5 out of 5 Match #2: Anna Jay A.S. def. Megan Meyers
My Thoughts: Anna Jay gets a new name and new attitude… Hopefully her...

Welcome to this week’s review of Aew Dark: Elevation, the opening salvo in the Aew wrestling week. Once again we’ve got the duo of Tony Schiavone and Mark Henry on commentary this week… Let’s see what the show has to offer!
Match #1: Julia Hart def. Lmk
My Thoughts: Julia Hart’s transformation continues… Like last week, ere her character work was at the fore, with a determined walk to the ring, a stalking of her opponent (which I think is Really working for Hart) and a vicious streak that saw her slap the crap out of Lmk. Onwards and upwards for Hart methinks!
My Score: 2 out of 5 Match #2: Leila Grey def. Jc
My Thoughts: It’s clear Aew see something in Leila Grey, given that she’s had numerous matches now And she’s been lined up as a baddie replacement on the main shows too.

Another week, another episode of Aew: Dark. This one features nine matches filmed at Aew Universal and another title defence for Pac, filmed over in Dublin, as part of the travelling All-Atlantic Championship – something that is, right now, one of the more intriguing aspects of Aew’s championship scene.
Match #1: Kiera Hogan def. Allie Reks
My Thoughts: A short, boring quasi-squash match that did nothing for either woman involved. Kiera Hogan really hasn’t shone as much in Aew as she did back in Impact… even as part of Jade Cargill’s crew.
My Score: 1 out of 5 Match #2: Alex Reynolds def. Ryan Nemeth
My Thoughts: The Dark Order / Wingmen feuding continues but this time in singles competition. A singles match that, honestly, shouldn’t have gone on so long or had Reynolds look so weak. Why Nemeth had the upper hand in this one for so long bemuses me…...

Welcome to this week’s review of Aew Dark: Elevation, the opening salvo in the Aew wrestling week. Once again we’ve got Excalibur, Caprice Coleman and Mark Henry on commentary and I’m digging the switch-ups we’ve had on the commentary team in recent weeks… Let’s see what the show has to offer!
Match #1: Angelico and Private Party (Marq Quen and Isiah Kassidy) def. Ar Fox, Liam Gray and Adrian Alanis
My Thoughts: There was nothing remarkable about this match as Private Party continue to coast along and not live up to the hype of their signing back at the beginning of Aew. In fact, Private Party on Being the Elite is Better than Private Party in the ring! So in the end we get an average score for an average match.
My Score: 2.5 out of 5 Match #2: Marina Shafir and Nyla Rose def. Angelica Risk...

Another episode of Aew: Dark, which this week features fourteen, yes Fourteen(!), matches. Though this show has also gone back to the traditional format after last week’s tremendous show which showcased two matches filmed internationally… I fear no Dark may ever live up to last weeks… Especially not one crammed with 14 matches like the old pandemic days!
Match #1: Jora Johl def. Luke Sampson
My Thoughts: Poor Jora Johl, it really looked like he was being set up to be a big star, with a future turn against Matt Hardy probably propelling him up the Aew card. Then Jeff hardy joined Aew and the Hfo disbanded and Johl has been seemingly forgotten. Though he has out in some decent time on Aew’s YouTube shows, it feels like he’s fallen into the Factory/Dark Order trap – win against jobbers on YouTube, Be the jobber of Dynamite/Rampage!

Match #1: Bobby Fish def. Blake Li
My Thoughts: This felt very much like Bobby Fish getting back into the swing of things after not being on TV for a few weeks. Other than that this was your typical Aew quasi-squash match.
My Score: 1.5 out of 5 Match #2: Marina Shafir and Nyla Rose def. Skye Blue and Brittany
My Thoughts: Another squash match for this week’s Elevation, but one that makes sense given that Rose and Shfir are supposed to be the dominant team and Skye Blue is the underdog. Speaking of Shafir,...

Welcome to this week’s review of Aew: Dynamite, which was broadcast live from the Blue Cross Arena at the War Memorial in Rochester, NY! We’ve Tony Schiavone, Excalibur, and Taz on commentary and an eagerly awaited main event… That was overshadowed, Imho, by one of Ricky Starks’ best promos Ever! Let’s get into it.
Match #1: TNT Championship Street Fight – Wardlow def. Scorpio Sky The following is courtesy of allelitewrestling.com:
Sky evaded Wardlow and blasted Wardlow with body shots. Wardlow fired back with a massive shoulder tackle, taking the champion off his feet. Scorpio Sky connected with a low blow on Wardlow. An angered Wardlow hurled Scorpio Sky across the ring! Wardlow followed Scorpio Sky outside the ring. Lambert placed a hand on the back of Wardlow. Wardlow turned around but members of American Top Team were there to block him from getting to Lambert. Wardlow...

It was an emotional scene when Thunder Rosa finally captured the All Elite Wrestling women’s championship. The fan-favorite defeated her arch-nemesis Britt Baker in dramatic fashion. A bloody steel cage main event during Dynamite’s “St. Patrick’s Day Slam” before Rosa’s San Antonio, Texas faithful. A year prior she’d come up short against Baker in their landmark “Lights Out” match. Since attaining the gold, Rosa has successfully defended against the likes of Nyla Rosa, Serena Deeb, and Marina Shafir. The forecast next calls for a big challenge at the Forbidden Door pay-per-view against the red-hot Toni Storm. A standout who left WWE in hopes of a greater opportunity to perform. Rosa talks to TV Insider about the experience atop the women’s division, giving back, tacos, and others walking through the “Forbidden Door.” How has it been being the champ? Thunder Rosa: It’s a very important thing for me.

Match #1: Trios Match – Chaos def. The United Empire (Aussie Open – aka Kyle Fletcher & Mark Davis; and Will Ospreay) The following is courtesy of allelitewrestling.com:
Rocky ducked a lariat from Kyle. Rocky slid under Kyle and then wacked him with a stiff kick to the midsection. Trent tagged in and walloped Kyle with a clothesline. Mark Davis booted Trent in the jaw. Trent fired back with a suplex, sending Mark crashing hard on the mat. Orange Cassidy tagged in and powered up by putting his hands in his pockets.
