Madison Square Garden has seen it all: legendary concerts, NBA Finals games, prize fights, Verzuz duels, and everything in between. Last night, I was lucky enough for a rare Msg first: Megan Thee Stallion’s New York stop on her Hot Girl Summer Tour made the first independent woman rapper to headline at the world’s greatest arena. Even with GloRilla signed to Cmg, indie-rap havens Houston and Memphis should be represented in this moment.

When it was first announced that the Planet of the Apes franchise was going to get the reboot treatment back in the now-Jurassic era of 2011, you could feel a familiar cynicism kick in: Great, another recognizable intellectual property getting trotted out for a quick cash grab, just in time for a corporate quarterly report. We’d finally washed the ashy taste of that ill-advised Tim Burton remake from 2001 out of mouths, and now Warners was going back to the ’70s pop culture well, ready to ransack musty nostalgia from chimpan-a to chimpan-z.

This article contains spoilers for My Hero Academia season 7 episode 1.
My Hero Academia is an entertaining shonen anime that cleverly riffs on the superhero genre. This means that epic superpowered showdowns are par for the course where grandiose villains threaten to reshape the world through malevolent means. However, the anime’s most recent storyline that concludes season 6 and kicks off the seventh season descends hero society into all-out war. All For One, society’s most evil and dangerous villain, has triggered a parasitic relationship with Tomura Shigaraki that’s blended their consciousness to become the ultimate antagonist. Japan’s Pro Heroes have proven to be useless against Shigaraki’s powerful awakening and season six ends on a suspenseful cliffhanger that recruits international reinforcements to take on this apocalyptic threat.

"Futurama" is set a thousand years from our present. The show begins in the year 2999, as the world of tomorrow celebrates a happy New Year, and has since moved forward to correspond to the year the episode was aired — the latest, semi-satisfying season 11, reviewed by /Film here, was set in 3023.
This means that the show is set in New New York City (in the state of New New York). In "Space Pilot 3000," while our everyman hero Philip J. Fry slumbers in cryogenic suspension for a millennium, the metropolis outside is destroyed twice by alien invaders. Late in the pilot, Fry, Bender, and Leela find themselves underground in the ruins of old New York City; the place Fry once called home is the foundation upon which his new one rests.

When it comes to recreating action sequences from movies, it can be hard for Lego to deliver the excitement of a big screen blockbuster. The building brick playsets don't always match up very well with the scene itself, and while that's usually because they're made for kids who will fill in the gaps with their imagination, sometimes it's nice to have a Lego set that gets it right. That's what makes the recently released "Spider-Man: No Way Home" final battle playset so great.
In the ongoing Multiverse Saga of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, only "Spider-Man: No Way Home" has really delivered a satisfying spectacle utilizing the parallel universes of Marvel movies. The McU's Peter Parker (Tom Holland) met his cinematic predecessors thanks to a magic spell gone wrong, which brought in the versions of Peter Parker played by Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield. The villains from their respective universes also crossed over into the MCU,...

An attempt to revive the Hasbro franchise is a careless fumble put together without a hint of effort or interest
During his tenure as chairman of the Statue of Liberty-Ellis Island Foundation, industrialist Lee Iacocca declared the small hunk of land off the coast of New Jersey a “symbol of reality” to Lady Liberty’s “symbol of hope”. A fitting gesture, then, that Ellis Island should be obliterated as collateral damage in the first hour of Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, in light of its deafening disregard for anything in the general galaxy of real.
As obligatory human Noah Diaz stumbles through a cosmic clash between opposing hunks of dinged-up CGI, he briefly questions the need of alien robots to disguise themselves as Earth-faring vehicles. His perfectly valid thoughts are hand-waved away by Mirage – voiced by Pete Davidson, saying things like “yo!” – with the instruction not to worry about it.

At first glance, comics would appear to be the easiest print medium to adapt into a visual medium like film or television. But as we all know from decades spent watching comic book adaptations that’s not always the case.
There are bound to be subtleties of art, lighting, and movement that visual media could misinterpret or outright miss. With its latest comic adaptation, and its first project from Millarworld, Netflix looks to be striving for as close a visual adaptation as possible. Jupiter’s Legacy will be based on the comic book series of the same new from Mark Millar and artist Frank Quitely. Based on a new first look from Netflix, Quitely’s art will be a major presence on the live-action series. Check out the video below to see what we mean.
Sometimes we like to talk about “storyboards come to life” but in this instance that comparison looks to be particularly apt.

When Eric Church, with some nuance, noted his problems with the National Rifle Association in a Rolling Stone cover story earlier this year, the internet blew up in certain troll networks. Folks figuratively spit on him, in clear ignorance of his actual words, predicting/threatening that fans would abandon him en masse.
