The film follows an ambitious museum director (Claes Bang), who is preparing to make a major impact with a new exhibit. Ahead of a likely Cannes debut and U.S. release from Magnolia, the first images have arrived, along with a behind-the-scenes look at its creation.
Also starring Elisabeth Moss and Dominic West, the exhibit in the film is meant to provide “a symbolic space where only good things can happen.” Things escalate and get wildly out of hand when the PR firm in charge come up with some far-reaching publicity plans. “The Square can be interpreted as an allegory of how society works today. It seems that we’re getting more and more individualistic and we tend to see other adults as a potential threat. Overall, we...

Fiddler On The Roof Broadway Theatre, NYC
I was in my local supermarket when Gwen Stefani came on the speakers:
If I was a rich girl (na, na) See, I'd have all the money in the world, if I was a wealthy girl No man could test me, impress me, my cash flow would never ever end 'Cause I'd have all the money in the world, if I was a wealthy girl
And it made me wonder how many teenage music consumers around the world had any idea where that little tune came from. My conclusion? Not many.
Oh sure, Jewish kids, musical theater kids, maybe even most New York City kids. But that’s about it.
In musical theater, context is everything. In the Stefani version, it’s about the ability to shop til you drop. But in the original version, as the wonderful showcase song at the heart of Fiddler On The Roof,...

When Mughal-e-Azam released in 1957, it became an instant classic; a tragic love story set against a period in history renowned for its luxury and opulent settings. Perhaps most memorable is the film’s creation of Lahore Fort’s Sheesh Mahal (the palace of mirrors), which gave the film legendary status in the records of high budget Bollywood films.
But now, nearly five decades later, the great Sanjay Leela Bhansali, whose reputation for creating visually stunning, emotive epics is unrivalled, has created a set which surpasses Mughal-e-Azam’s Sheesh Mahal. Bajirao Mastani, to be released later this year, will feature a stunning, grandiose set for its dance number ‘Deewani Mastani’. Smashing records for most expensive set since Mughal-e-Azam, Bhansali has created another palace of mirrors called Aaina Mahal. The set, which took over 40 days to create, has been designed by Saloni Dhatrak, Sujeet Swant and Sriram Iyengar, using mirrors ordered specifically...
