Mumbai, Feb 24: International action director Don Lee is keen on directing actor-filmmaker Mahesh Manjrekar in the role of a gangster someday! The duo has collaborated on Mahesh Manjrekar's forthcoming directorial, a war-drama web series "1962: The War in the Hills".
Expressing his eagerness to direct Manjrekar in a gangster's role and sharing his experience of working with him in the web series, Lee shared: "I would love to be able to direct Mahesh in a movie, to have him play a gangster. Mumbai, Feb 19: Sumeet Vyas felt like he was acting in a play while shooting for Mahesh Manjrekar's upcoming web series, 1962: The War In The Hills. The reason, he explained, is because both Manjrekar and he come from a theatre background.
"I have always been a fan of Mahesh sir's work and had hoped to do a project with him one day. With 1962: The War In the Hills, I finally got that opportunity," Sumeet said.
"Since he too has a background in theatre like me, I almost felt like I was acting in a play. For me there is nothing better than working with a theatre personality because I feel I can relate to them in the best way," he added.
Sumeet essays a soldier in the C-Company battalion in the forthcoming war drama web series. His character is named Ramkumar Yadav.

Mumbai, Feb 18 (Ians) Veteran director Mahesh Manjrekar who has directed the upcoming war drama series, 1962: The War In The Hills, says collaborating with international action director Don Lee has taken the show to the next level. Lee has directed stunts in the Pirates Of The Caribbean franchise and Star Trek Beyond, among other global hits.
Manjrekar's series is inspired by the 1962 Indo-China war, and showcases how 125 Indian soldiers valiantly fought over 3000 Chinese soldiers at Rezang La and Galwan Valley.
"Don used to write a story of what we were going to shoot, and choreographed it well in advance, which worked fantastically for me. It became easier, and the climax that he shot was brilliant. Don was absolutely prepared but at the same time open to suggestions because he was working on a terrain which was alien to him," said Manjrekar.
