Koatzin Sol was born on September 12, 1982 in Colima City, Mexico. His career as a Costume Designer/Stylist began with both student and Independent film in Los Angeles, California in 2011. He is best known for his most recent contribution as an Assistant Costumer for the comedy Stuck (2018) winner of Best Picture and Best Director at the Artemis Film Fest and Best Feature at the Scottish Indie Film Fest (2018). Stuck (2018) is a funny film starring Heather Matarazzo from Saved (2004) and The Princess Diaries (2001) and is directed by Emmy Award Winner Jillian Armentante from Girl Interrupted (1999).
His work ranges from shorts, feature films and music videos like "Freedom" by Pharrell Williams working as an assistant stylist for Jessica Loria along side Paul Hunter who's responsible for directing some of the most iconic music videos of the 90s for artists like Janet Jackson, The Notorious B.I.G., Aaliyah and Marilyn Manson.
In 2014 his dream to contribute to Cannes Film Festival was accomplished while dressing director Dawn Hogginbotham and producer Kumari Bakhru for the red carpet event that would celebrate their Official Selection. His name emerges as a Costume Designer at this prestigious event for the black and white film Color Blues (2017) by Spanish director David Hebrero and Seven Rounds (2018) by George Savvidis, both screened at the Short Film Corner at Cannes Film Festival.
His collaboration and achievements in the film industry as a Costume Designer have opened many doors towards the exploration of his primary goal. His short film Trash Bag will mark his debut as a director/writer in 2020.
