Exclusive: Coming off directing and executive producing the first two episodes of FX’s Shōgun, Jonathan van Tulleken has been tapped to direct and executive produce the first two episodes of another high-profile limited series, Prime Video’s Blade Runner 2099.
Tulleken replaces Jeremy Podeswa, who was originally set to direct the first two episodes but had to step away due to scheduling conflicts as the Blade Runner 2099 production schedule was altered by the WGA strike.
The series was originally slated to film in Belfast last summer. In May, a couple of weeks into the writers strike, it was revealed that, due to the work stoppage, production on Blade Runner 2099 was delayed, likely until spring 2024. Northern Ireland Screen said at the time the project had “been prepping on the ground in Belfast for many months now.”
In October, it was reported that Blade Runner 2099 was moving away from Belfast.

Broderick Johnson and Andrew Kosove, the cofounders and co-CEOs of “The Blind Side” financier Alcon Entertainment, have released a statement regarding the recent controversy surrounding a lawsuit filed by real-world footballer subject Michael Oher against Sean and Leigh Anne Tuohy over compensation from the film.
“The notion that the Tuohys were paid millions of dollars by Alcon to the detriment of Michael Oher is false,” the statement read. “In fact, Alcon has paid approximately $767,000 to the talent agency that represents the Tuohy family and Michael Oher. We anticipate that the Tuohy family and Michael Oher will receive additional profits as audiences continue to enjoy this true story in the years to come.”
With the lawsuit — which claims, among other things, that Oher was placed in a conservatorship and never actually adopted by the family that famously took him in and helped shepherd his football career — many have started to pick...

The ending of "Prisoners" (spoilers follow) leaves the viewer with much to ponder, not the least of which is ... what happens after the credits roll? The 2013 film, written by Aaron Guzikowski and directed by Denis Villeneuve (in his English-language debut), chooses an interesting moment to fade to black. Detective Loki (Jake Gyllenhaal) has saved the day, rescuing a kidnapped girl and shooting and killing the bad buy — or gal, played by Melissa Leo — who was about to give her a fatal injection. After rushing the girl to the hospital and recovering from his injuries, Loki returns to the scene of the crime: a house where the girl's father, Keller Dover (Hugh Jackman), lies unknowingly trapped underground in the backyard. Loki is about to leave when he hears a faint whistle in the wind and turns toward the sound.
And ... scene. "Prisoners" ends there, and in a 2013 interview, Guzikowski revealed that this was,...

Mondays beware because Hannah Waddingham, Ving Rhames, Nicholas Hoult, and Cecily Strong are joining the cast of Alcon Entertainment‘s Garfield movie. Chris Pratt and Samuel L. Jackson also star in the film, which Mark Dindal is directing.
It should come as no surprise that Alcon’s Garfield movie is based on Jim Davis’ celebrated comic strip focusing on an orange, lazy, lasagna-loving feline, his owner, Jon Arbuckle, and Jon’s pet dog Odie. When Garfield isn’t making life a living hell for Jon and his canine companion, he waxes rhapsodic about the world, his perpetual hunger, and hatred of Mondays. Plot details about Alcon’s Garfield movie are unknown at this time. However, we know Pratt is voicing the iconic cat while Jackson is playing Garfield’s father, Vic.
Reports do not indicate who Waddingham, Rhames, Hoult, and Strong will play. However, if I had to venture a guess,...
