We recently had the satisfying experience of seeing Kevin Conroy appear as a live-action Bruce Wayne for the first time, as part of the “Crisis on Infinite Earths” crossover event on The CW. The actor, who has been the voice of Batman in multiple animated features and video games, and surprised some fans with the particularly dark version of the character he played in the Arrowverse, has long been keen to do more with the role. Having already shown his enthusiasm for returning to the Arrowverse, Conroy has now expressed an interest in bringing back Batman Beyond.
The actor spoke to ComicBook.com recently about how the animated format solves the problem of his co-star Will Friedle reprising the part, saying:
“I don’t think people age as much vocally; I think he can still do Batman Beyond. He could do Terry McGinnis as a voice job. I don’t...

After a string of indies, Robert Pattinson’s blockbuster hiatus is coming to an end with the one-two punch of Christopher Nolan’s “Tenet” and Matt Reeves’ “The Batman.” Both Warner Bros. summer tentpoles will open a year apart. But despite taking a break from smaller films to make massive studio blockbusters, Pattinson maintains that the tentpole choices he’s made for his future align with his indie work of the past. The actor told BBC that Nolan might have a lot of money to work with, but he’s still the kind of auteur filmmaker Pattison prioritized after the “Twilight” films wrapped. As for “The Batman,” Pattinson said his Bruce Wayne will be just as “crazy and perverse” as the characters he usually plays in indie films like Cronenberg’s “Cosmopolis,” Denis’ “High Life,” the Safdies’ “Good Time,” Eggers’ “The Lighthouse,” and more.

Production is officially underway on Matt Reeves’ The Batman and the latest adaptation of the character will focus on a younger Bruce Wayne, with the style and tone being akin to a detective noir. Where do we sign up?
We know that Robert Pattinson is the Caped Crusader and that the two key villains are Penguin (Colin Farrell) and the Riddler (Paul Dano). But according to what we’ve been hearing lately, Warner Bros. is now pushing Reeves to include even more antagonists. They wouldn’t be major roles like the aforementioned baddies, but rather cameos/small appearances to set up future spinoffs and solo movies.
However, Reeves is said to be against this and thinks too many villains will ruin the film. As such, he’s pushing back and trying to keep the number of antagonists limited to what was in the initial script. And while nothing has been...

This week, director Matt Reeves finally officially announced the start of production on The Batman. So, what better way to celebrate than with a trailer? Not an actual one, mind you, as we’re still a ways from getting a look at any cleaned-up footage, but this seriously impressive fan trailer that gives us a taste of the epicness in store when Robert Pattinson’s debut as the Dark Knight reaches cinemas next summer.
Created by Youtuber StryderHD, this trailer makes use of various clips from past Batman movies and other Pattinson projects to give us an idea of how he might appear as the Caped Crusader. Several shots from Cosmopolis are used, for instance, as the actor’s look in that film – swept-back hair and sharp suits – is very Bruce Wayne-like. The trailer also showcases Colin Farrell, Zoe Kravitz and Jeffrey Wright, who’ll be appearing opposite Pattinson as the Penguin,...

With production getting underway for Matt Reeves’ The Batman, we’re now learning more about what to expect from the 2021 picture. Having previously kept their cards close to their chest, Warner Bros. have today revealed the roles played by Peter Sarsgaard and Jayme Lawson in the movie, telling us that the former will portray Gotham District Attorney Gil Colson, while the latter is on board as Bella Reál, a Gotham City mayoral candidate. Both characters are new additions to the Batman universe, and will join Robert Pattinson, Colin Farrell and others in a very strong cast.
Although Sarsgaard’s casting is a bit of a surprise, after we’d previously heard that he was signed on to play corrupt cop Peter Grogan, both characters confirm that The Batman will be digging into the shady goings-on in Gotham politics. Indeed, Reál’s mayoral opponents could include Oswald Cobblepot, who’s had...

No superhero has cooler gadgets than the Caped Crusader. And with production on Matt Reeves’ new iteration The Batman currently underway, fans are eager to see what the Batmobile will look like as well as the character’s suit. It remains to be seen exactly when they’ll get that chance, but according to a report from Batman on Film, we should be getting our first look at both those things in the near future.
After all, at some point during filming, the Batmobile will be number one on the call sheet. I mean, it’s not like you can hide it. One of the many divisive talking points over Robert Pattinson’s casting as Bruce Wayne in Matt Reeves’ The Batman has been the actor’s physical suitability for the part. Often appearing as skinny or at least trim in his roles, Pattinson was reportedly having difficulties putting on the pounds before shooting began. And a new rumor has now suggested that, based on a brief public sighting of the actor at Paris Fashion Week, Pattinson hasn’t bulked up yet for the part, with reports saying that “he didn’t look that much bigger than when he first wowed the general public as the heart-stealing vampire, Edward Cullen.”
Having shown us what he could look like as Bruce Wayne this week, it’s difficult to give much substance to this discussion, especially given that this glimpse of the actor would hardly have shown his actual physique. With shooting only just beginning for Pattinson as well,...

It’s well-known that The Batman will pit Robert Pattinson’s Dark Knight against multiple enemies. Several more are also reportedly involved, but which one of these will actually be the main antagonist?
Well, the way that Matt Reeves’ film will juggle all these supervillains is to use them as suspects in a whodunnit narrative, as the director is known to be drawing from such detective-themed Batman stories as The Long Halloween and Hush. The actual big bad will likely be unveiled late into the runtime, then, but ScreenRant has put forward a compelling theory: What if Dano’s Prince of Puzzles turns out to be the culprit?

In case you missed it, there was a fair amount of backlash from certain sections of the internet when it was first announced that Robert Pattinson was set to suit up and star as the title character in Matt Reeves’ The Batman, with a lot of the criticism directed towards his past life as a teenage heartthrob at the center of the Twilight franchise, completely overlooking the fact that the 33 year-old had totally reinvented himself over the last decade thanks to a string of critically-acclaimed roles in low budget independent movies.

After years of development, The Batman finally entered production in London this past week. Matt Reeves’ reboot of the Dark Knight, with Robert Pattinson in the lead, has been the subject of intense scrutiny, with many reports detailing what we can expect in the movie. Chief among them is a roll call of Bruce Wayne’s most iconic enemies and as many as six or seven were once touted to be featured in the film.
Now that production is underway, however, We Got This Covered has heard from our sources – the same ones who told us that Pattinson had beat out Nicholas Hoult for the titular role back when they were both in the running – that Reeves has ultimately decided to excise one of these antagonists from the story. Apparently, Harvey Dent/Two-Face has been removed from The Batman with the intention now being to save him for a sequel.

For the longest time, we’ve been under the impression that The Batman would be set in the 1990s. Originally, this was because Matt Reeves’ relaunch of the Dark Knight in the Dceu was to operate as a vague prequel to the Ben Affleck movies, allowing for a young actor to effectively play a younger version of the same character. Even as things evolved away from that, though, and Robert Pattinson landed the role, it still looked to take place in that decade. However, shooting has finally begun on the film this week, and it looks like we can categorically say that The Batman won’t be set in the 90s.

Batwoman debuted to 1.86 million viewers and has continued to deliver strong numbers for the network, so the renewal doesn't come as too big of a surprise.
The series stars Ruby Rose as Kate Kane, a skilled fighter who also happens to be Bruce Wayne's cousin. This week, production finally began on The Batman, offering fans their first impression of what we can expect in Matt Reeves’ upcoming reboot of the Dark Knight’s corner of the DC universe. What we’ve seen of filming so far makes clear that the director is currently shooting scenes set on the streets of Gotham, which will be brought to life by the UK in the film.
These set pics and accompanying video, for example, were snapped by a local fan and show us a sequence involving the fine men and women of Gotham’s Police Department plowing through the streets, no doubt racing to a crime scene. In the set footage, meanwhile, which you can see in the tweet below, a Gcpd cop car is seen driving into shot, with a man on a motorcycle standing by ready to follow it.

New reports suggest Christian Bale, the star of The Dark Knight Trilogy, may join the McU for Thor: Love and Thunder.
In what will amount to an earthquake amongst superhero movie fans, new reports suggest that Oscar winner Christian Bale is in talks with Marvel Studios and Taika Waititi to star in Thor: Love and Thunder. Holy crossover of talent, Batman!
Collider first broke the news, reporting the actor most famous for playing the Dark Knight is now close to signing up for Thor 4, joining a cast that includes Chris Hemsworth, Tessa Thompson, and Natalie Portman. If true, this would be the first time Bale has starred in a superhero movie since 2012’s The Dark Knight Rises, which saw the actor (and character) retire from wearing Batman’s mask and cowl.
Den of Geek has reached out to sources close to all parties, but has yet to hear any official comment.
