Paul Goodhead

Paul Goodhead has been a professional cabaret artist for over 30 years, learning his trade through the diminishing social clubs and entertainment venues, appearing in various pantomimes and even summer seasons for Pontins in Wales during the late eighties. His early successes were witnessed by audiences at Ceasers Palace (Luton) and London's famous Talk Of The Town to name just two of his critically praised triumphs! His act was also appreciated by - and he gained lasting friendships - with the vocalist Dorothy Squires and singer / actor / songwriter Anthony Newley. These friendships lasted until their deaths in 1998 and 1999. Since then he has continued to gain a loyal following and has added film work (both in front and behind the camera), radio, script writing and interviewing to his ever growing CV. He has recently completed the third collaboration to release a new CD of rare material by Anthony Newley for Stagedoor Records "Anthony Newley sings The Good Old Bad Old Days," which is currently selling well at a HMV near you!
Paul is also the President of the Anthony Newley Society which has over 1,500 members worldwide and runs it with the same conviction he gives to any of his stage shows, honouring his promise he made to Newley shortly before his death, to keep his music and work alive.
His recent work has included a series of programmes for Talking Pictures TV on stage, authors and screen stars, interviewing the legendary actress Joan Collins, Jason Dors-Lake (son of Diana Dors), Jess Conrad OBE, Bruce Forsyth, Petula Clark and singer Michael Ball; sleeve notes for Vocalion and Stagedoor Records CD issues for Anthony Newley; contributed to a BBC Radio 2 series' and an hour long special narrated by Barbara Windsor on Newley; not forgetting his hugely successful charity events, cabaret event shows and CD albums.
His shows are always accompanied by a unique original pre-filmed featurette which is used as his introduction to the stage. His previous roles of James Bond and Doctor Who have been applauded for his marvellous comic take whilst delivering a convincing driving force which has his audiences chomping at the bit for his eventual "arrival" on stage! His murder mystery short film events have taken him into the film realms of direction, production and editing too!
Paul is currently working with Talking Pictures TV - a channel he is regularly seen on - for a selection of projects.
Paul Goodhead is also renowned as an entertainment historian of stage and film. As well as assisting in the Heritage Project with the Birmingham Hippodrome theatre and the Anthony Newley Society & Archive, he is in demand for his highly entertaining talks on the business he not only knows intimately... but truly loves.
In his limited spare time Paul is finishing a glitzy, showbusiness novel called Hollywood Seven which includes classic characters, erotic episodes and even a murder. His first book release is called Success Story, based of the achievements of his late friend Mr Anthony Newley and to date the book has sold over 15,000 copies! He has also contributed to many published volumes on horror films and actors.
He has compiled a series of episodes from his life to date in an autobiographical volume for release in late 2018.
