The latest update to Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has introduced an intriguing new detail to the Metropolis map, which now features a small section covered in ice. This suggests that Rocksteady, the game’s developer, may be hinting at the arrival of a new character.
For those who might be expecting this new addition to be Victor Fries, the infamous Batman villain, there might be some disappointment. Rumors suggest that the new character is actually Victoria Fries, an alternate universe version of the well-known DC villain.

As seen in a video shared by user Batman Arkham Videos on X, part of the game’s map now features a snowy landscape with a fallen sign advertising “Ho-Ho Frozen Chicken Bites.

Fans of the DC superhero Batman have recently been looking for a hidden villain in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight trilogy. Starring Christian Bale as the Caped Crusader, the beloved film series introduced multiple adversaries of the superhero, from Scarecrow, The Joker, and Bane to the likes of Harvey Dent and Talia Al Ghul.

However, a new fan-made image has sparked speculation among fans, suggesting that the final installment in the trilogy might have included another villain, Deathstroke, with a CIA agent role, portrayed by the Irish actor Aidan Gillen in the 2012 film The Dark Knight Rises.

Stephen Amell starred as Oliver Queen a.k.a Green Arrow in the CW series Arrow. The show spawned the Arrowverse, including shows such as The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, Supergirl, and more. It went on for eight seasons, ending in 2019. The show crossed over with other shows in the Arrowverse and saw many prominent DC characters make an appearance.
While the show included popular characters such as Deathstroke, Black Canary, and the Monitor, the makers revealed that they never intended to introduce some of these characters so early into the show. Characters such as Deathstroke and Arsenal a.k.a Roy Harper appeared in season 1 of the show despite being planned for much later.

For Keanu Reeves, the foreboding shadow of violence has loomed large over his reputation as Mr. Nicest Guy in Hollywood ever since he retracted out of Oliver Stoneʼs Platoon in 1986. His decision to avoid on-screen brutality lasted all but 8 years before his action-man persona took over Hollywood and charmed critics and fans alike in the adrenaline-chasing blockbuster Speed in 1994.
What followed soon after was a gallery of his lifeʼs work encompassed within the works of the Wachowskisʼ The Matrix trilogy (1999-2003), Constantine (2005), 47 Ronin (2013), and most importantly, the franchise of John Wick (2014-present).

One major problem that plagued most Arrowverse shows was CW’s inability to end them at the right time. While most of them started on a high note, especially Grant Gustin’s The Flash, which was the biggest superhero show on TV upon its release, the writers couldn’t carry the momentum in the later seasons. But things could have been very different for the CW show that started it all, Arrow.
Had CW stuck to the original plans for the show, Arrow could’ve ended on a really high note, as instead of going on for 8 seasons, season 5 was originally intended to be the show’s end.

The 2017 Dceu film Justice League introduced Joe Manganiello as the formidable DC villain Deathstroke, with potential plans for further exploration of the character in future installments. However, these plans were dashed with the reboot of the superhero universe. But, there remains a glimmer of hope that the new direction of the franchise may finally delve into Deathstroke’s story on the silver screen.
Joe Manganiello as Deathstroke in Justice League
Throughout the years, Deathstroke has made numerous appearances in TV shows and comic books. Notably, one instance saw him alongside the X-Men, engaging in a face-off with formidable Marvel superheroes such as Wolverine, Colossus, and even Storm. Despite their stature as some of the most powerful heroes in the MCU, Deathstroke emerged victorious in the battle.

DC Comics has no dearth of power packed characters. Who wouldn’t be afraid of the might of Superman or even Darkseid for that matter. And the wit of Batman needs no introduction. But what if we told you that there is one character in the comic book universe who has got Bruce Wayne’s wit and talent for strategy, while he has also got Superman’s brawns. There is one, though – Deathstroke. The mighty assassin is one of DC Comics’ most dreaded. But the Arrowverse could not do the character justice.

James Gunn has advised Joe Manganiello to consider moving on from his role in the Dceu. The 47-year-old actor portrayed Slade Wilson, aka Deathstroke, in Zack Snyder’s DC Extended Universe, making brief appearances in both Justice League and The Snyder Cut. He was also slated to star in Ben Affleck’s canceled Batman film.

Apart from that, there were talks of a potential standalone Deathstroke movie, for which Manganiello even had a screenplay prepared. Despite DC Comics’ interest in the screenplay, Gunn suggested he let go of any potential plans for the character.
James Gunn Convinced Joe Manganiello to Move On from Deathstroke
With James Gunn rebooting the DC Universe with Chapter One: Gods & Monsters, the possibility for Joe Manganiello to reprise his role as Deathstroke has been less. However, the actor still had hopes for introducing an origin story for the DC villain.

Some similarities between certain Marvel and DC characters cannot be overlooked. The perfect example of this would be Deathstroke and Deadpool; also known as Slade Wilson and Wade Wilson. The two characters have been compared to each other ever since they existed only in comics. The one thing that has stayed constant is the question about who might win a fight between the two.
Deathstroke in DC Comics
While Deathstroke has the ability to heal himself and is an excellent swordsman and shooter, Deadpool is simply overpowered, being an extremely strong fighter, and not to mention, immortal. While many would stop the conversation here and accept the answer, there is one scenario where the Merc with a Mouth would be at a loss and the assassin would win.

James Gunn has been the head of Dcu for some time now but the American filmmaker has failed to give a blockbuster thus far. As a result, DC Studios still waits to be in a comparable rivalry with the Marvel Cinematic Universe because as of now, Marvel is dominating the industry.
James Gunn
In order to start things over, Gunn recently decided to reboot the DC Cinematic Universe in The Flash movie. As a result, we saw a lot of actors bid farewell to their roles.
James Gunn talked to Joe Manganiello about his future as Deathstroke
Although he did not have a big part in the Dceu, Joe Manganiello portrayed the iconic role of Slade Wilson aka Deathstroke in Jack Snyder’s Justice League in 2017. After his cameo appearance in the movie, Manganiello was supposed to play the primary villain of Ben Affleck‘s Batman movie, but that project was eventually scrapped.

Although it seemed like the Dceu was down for the count after the theatrical release of Justice League in 2017, the universe found more solid footing in several films afterward. However, one thread they didn’t get to pick up on was the tease of Joe Manganiello’s Deathstroke in the post-credits scene in which Jesse Eisenberg returned as Lex Luthor and proposed a league of their own. The Dceu has officially concluded with Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom and James Gunn’s reign with his Dcu will be kickstarting with Superman: Legacy.
However, ComicBook.com reveals that Manganiello now has a new opportunity to continue his Slade Wilson incarnation despite the Dceu being dissolved. When Affleck’s in-universe version of The Batman fell through, in which Deathstroke was set to appear as the main antagonist, Manganiello wrote his own Deathstroke screenplay, which reportedly was well-received at Warner Bros. before the big studio shake-up.

The penultimate episode of the first season of My Adventures With Superman retraces the core element of superhero fiction- human connection, strongly into the narrative, as the role of the Man of Steel as the protector of the world gets emphasized through a beautiful, emotional scenario. In the previous episode, viewers witnessed how a misunderstanding made people in Metropolis afraid of Clark, which mentally troubled him. Adding to that, Lois’ paranoia stemming from her knowledge of the existence of some evil versions of Supermen in the multiverse leads her to unwittingly hurt Clark. Vicki Vale, the top journalist from the “Gotham Gazette,” exploited Perry, Lois, and Jimmy to write a hit piece on Superman, thereby deteriorating the public perception of the superhero even further.
The General deploys his newly formed Task Force X, consisting of the tech-stealing supervillains Slade Wilson and Ivo, to hunt down Superman and take him into captivity.

One of the reasons Superman is so revered worldwide is because of how he stands up for the marginalized and champions the ideals of truth, equality, and justice. With the surprisingly brilliant sixth episode, titled My Adventures With Mad Science, viewers are once again reminded of the cause Superman fights for.
The unfortunate fallout that happened in the fifth episode of My Adventures With Superman due to Lois confronting Clark about not revealing his secret identity to her and the duo abandoning Jimmy in his Bigfoot adventure is also addressed properly, even with the short runtime. In the previous episode, the General in charge of covert government operatives and Amanda Waller attacked Superman using agent Slade Wilson, wielding an advanced tech-laced armor whose tech signature was similar to most of the tech-based supervillains Superman had fought so far. Balancing between his responsibilities as Superman and keeping his superhero identity hidden from friends while working as a journalist himself was always going to be an arduous task for Clark, which eventually led to a misstep. After the previous episode ended with Lois establishing the connection for the first time that Clark Kent might actually be Superman, things were bound to get messy between Clark and her, and it happened in the fifth episode of My Adventures With Superman.
In the previous episode, Clark battled prototype Parasite armor-wearing Amazo tech chief Dr. Ivo, and with the help of Jimmy and Lois, he put an end to the crazed inventor’s threat. Clark and Lois gradually get closer, and as they get busy with their lives, Jimmy feels kind of left out. ‘My Adventures With Superman’ Episode 4 Recap & Ending, Explained: What Is Prototype Parasite Armor?
With a journalist like Lois Lane by his side most of the time, it was never going to be easy for Clark to keep his identity as Superman a secret. Having been obsessed over Superman’s origins since his first appearance, Lois wanted to take an interview with the Man of Steel, and she got a brief version of that, too, in the previous episode of My Adventures With Superman. As Clark took on the Intergang in the previous episode as Superman, his vision-related powers kicked in, and he saved Metropolis from being frozen completely by destroying an advanced machine core. So far in the series, the presence of a covert organization is shown, of which Slade Wilson and Amanda Waller are members, and their investigations, along with various Kryptonian weapons, might reveal the secret behind Clark’s Kryptonian origin. In this episode, “Let’s Go To Ivo Tower, You Say,...

Adult Swim/DC’s latest animated venture, My Adventures With Superman, builds on the momentum gained by the amazing first couple of episodes in the third one, too, and explores the interesting dynamic between the Man of Steel and Lois Lane during their earliest interactions. In the previous episode, the alien origin of Clark Kent was explored. As he approached the spaceship that brought him to Earth, Clark received a vision of him being possibly the last survivor of a doomed planet and also received a costume, which, along with his adoptive mother Martha’s modifications, created the iconic costume of the titular hero.

Long-time Superman fans may find the first minutes of My Adventures With Superman a bit off-putting. The soft, watercolor backgrounds, the sharp angles on the character designs, and the stuttered animation reveal the series’ debt to anime. As a young Clark Kent tries in vain to free his kite from a tree in his front yard, viewers will notice more similarities to My Hero Academia or Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba than to the Fleischer Bros. cartoons of the 1940s.
Suddenly, Clark notices a car spinning out of control, its driver distracted by the fussy child in the back seat. Without a second thought, Clark rushes to the car, stopping the vehicle before it slams into a tree. Clark stares at his hands in confusion, wondering how he suddenly gained such speed and strength. But we viewers know the answer: this is Superman, the Man of Steel we know and love.

The fan reaction to the Dceu has been varied since the franchise started, and there are plenty of reasons why this has happened. One among them is that a lot of fans wanted to see several more characters that were not properly introduced and brought to the big screen for longer than a few minutes. One of those, in particular, was Deathstroke, aka Slade Wilson, who still stands out as one of the deadliest assassins in comic book history, be it DC or Marvel or any other publication. So here we are, the rather arbitrarily chosen issue number seven, the final part of the mini-series we were told would shatter everything we knew about previously shattered universes and multiverses. Overall it’s been consistently decent, but has lacked that certain something to make it essential. It seems at times Williamson is trying his hardest to make all this grand and important, but yet not quite having enough puff to get to the top of that hill. Still, they say endings are the hardest part of any story, so let’s see if a home run can still be scored.

This post contains mild spoilers for "Titans" season 4.
A new season of "Titans" is upon us, and it's more unhinged than ever before. A blend of magic and horror, season 4 delves into the supernatural as the titular team finds itself at the center of a prophecy that could end the world for good. With the introduction of the Cult of Blood and its leader Mother Mayhem (Franka Potente), "Titans" shifts gears to deliver the most formidable threat in the series yet. But as with every villain, they need some henchman to serve as cannon fodder for the heroes. Historically, it's usually random guys in S.W.A.T. gear for the Titans, but this time around, the antagonist raises the dead, because why the hell not?
In the fourth episode, "Titans" looks to explain Mother Mayhem's backstory and her intentions with Sebastian Blood (Joseph Morgan). This leads to the superhero...

But here we are, another season is well on its way and approaching quicker than ever (or at least it feels like it).
Judging by the recent trailer, "Titans" may just be finding its stride in balancing zany superhero stuff and a horror-tinged storyline. However, I know what promises are worth. Expectations aren't sky-high this time around,...

With three seasons under its belt, "Titans" returns to HBO Max next month to face supernatural cults, maniacal supervillains, and a very familiar face. In anticipation of its November debut, the streaming service has released a full-length trailer that pulls the veil over the jam-packed season. Among many things, the introduction of Lex Luthor (Titus Welliver), who finds himself at the center of the Cult of Blood, as well as the live-action debut of Brother Blood (Joseph Morgan). Moreover, an antagonist from the second season finally makes his long-awaited return, and I'm personally glad he's back.
I'll let the footage of the blood-soaked trailer speak for itself, which can be seen below in its entirety.

The best way to describe this book is the comic book equivalent of a summer popcorn action movie. Doesn’t lend itself to a whole lot of navel gazing analysis, but there are a lot of explosions, action and fisticuffs going on virtually the whole time. It certainly keeps your attention. Joshua Williamson has also cleverly threaded the ties to the previous Crisis books gradually and subtly, keeping things moving nicely while also promising big things to come down the road. I can’t lie, I’ve been enjoying it so far, though I’ve got the inescapable feeling that we’ve seen nothing yet.
Let’s see if I’m right.

I enjoyed the first issue of this book but did say in my review of that one that it was very much the introduction issue, so story took second place to establishing all the pieces on the board. It was still a great read of course, but it was more about the spectacle than the story. Issue 2’s are the real money books, where we get to see if there is substance to go with the style. This being Josh Williamson, I’m betting it will be a firm yes, but as always, the proof is in the pudding.
Let’s take a look.
That Pariah’s a naughty boy, isn’t he? I actually used to like him when he first appeared, he had a Shakespearean tragic hero quality about him when he inadvertently triggered the Crisis on Infinite Earths.

I think the days of ongoing monthly books are numbered, judging by just how many monthly books these days from Marvel and DC are one-shots, limited series, or big event books. That’s not necessarily a criticism, because a good story is a good story, but for continuity fans like me these are different times indeed. This book certainly enticed me in, with the premise being interesting, and a great choice of writer in Joshua Williamson. Yes, the Bat Family books are pretty much everywhere at the moment, but quantity is fine if the quality is there. Let’s hope this justifies the shelf space.

Can anyone possibly top the unparalleled manliness of Ron Perlman? That’s pretty tough to do. I’ll just say, even before I saw him in an actual movie, I heard his iconic voice from the classic Teen Titans cartoon. That’s when he was the voice of Slade. A little fun fact, the reason he was called Slade is because his comic alias wasn’t considered appropriate for a children’s cartoon. If you’re not familiar with DC Comics, which everyone should be because it’s awesome, then I’ll tell you about Slade Wilson. He’s pretty much the same character in the Teen Titans cartoon

It's well-known that Ben Affleck was going to co-write, direct, and star in "The Batman" before he stepped away from the movie for a myriad of reasons (many of them personal). According to Joe Manganiello, who was originally lined up to reprise his "Justice League" role as the super-villain Slade Wilson, aka Deathstroke, in the film, Affleck's script had a lot of similarities to David Fincher's 1997 thriller "The Game." As the "Magic Mike" star put it, Affleck's "The Batman" would have seen Deathstroke dismantling Bruce Wayne's life piece by piece after learning his secret identity, "like a shark or a horror...

Here at Den of Geek we believe in a diversity of the geek diaspora. Some of us are soft-bodied boys who, let’s say hypothetically, washed out of their high school baseball tryouts because they couldn’t run too well. Other geeks, however, are pure beefcakes. And that’s great!
One such physically adept geek, Dungeons & Dragons enthusiast Joe Manganiello, will be lending his talents to a little-watched (but really good) Peacock comedy A.P. Bio this fall when the show returns for its fourth season on Sept. 2. Manganiello will play the whimsically named Malachi, who is described as “a big and intimidating personality who unexpectedly steps into Jack’s life, causing Jack great distress and insecurity in his personal relationships.” Check out a trailer for season 4 with Jack and Malachi below.
Now, it’s not unlike disgraced Harvard professor-turned A.P. Biology teaching charlatan Jack Griffin (Glenn Howerton) to develop a nemesis.

Who’s the deadliest assassin in DC Comics? That would probably be Floyd Lawton, aka Deadshot. But wait, what about Slade Wilson, better known as Deathstroke? Okay, it’s a pretty crazy competition, but our guy Floyd is usually placed on the top of that list. And why is that? Well, it’s because he never misses. He’s basically the Bullseye of DC, but no where near as psychopathic. And that’s seriously a good thing, because the Deadshot character has evolved over time. Let’s take a look at how we’re used to seeing him in the modern era. For those who don’t read

This article contains Zack Snyder’s Justice League spoilers.
Joe Manganiello was supposed to make numerous appearances in the Dceu as Deathstroke, a noted villain, antihero, assassin, and all around badass. His appearance in the post-credits scene of the theatrical cut of Justice League was little more than a cameo, one which explicitly stated that Lex Luthor wanted Manganiello’s Slade Wilson to be the first of a team of villains that could match the Justice League. In other words, it was a setup for a Justice League 2 that would never arrive.
But the version of that scene in Zack Snyder’s Justice League, while virtually identical in several ways, features different dialogue, and one that hints at the character’s ties to Batman. Snyder’s version of the scene doesn’t mention a team of villains at all, but rather shows Luthor revealing Batman’s true identity of Bruce Wayne to Deathstroke.

If it wasn’t for the Snyder Cut of Justice League, Joe Manganiello’s Deathstroke would have been the forgotten man of the Dceu. The franchise initially had huge plans for the assassin after he debuted during the post-credits scene of Joss Whedon’s crushingly disappointing theatrical release, as he was set to team up with Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor to cause some serious problems for the titular team in the future.
Slade Wilson was also cast as the villain of Ben Affleck’s The Batman, as well being pegged to star in a solo movie under the direction of The Raid‘s Gareth Evans, in what would have been the acclaimed action fimmaker’s Hollywood debut. One by one, though, each project with Manganiello’s involvement collapsed, and it looked as if Deathstroke had been relegated to a footnote in Dceu history.

I’m getting the distinct impression that Kami Garcia and Gabriel Picolo enjoy two things. One, working together. Garcia has it on record that her favourite character is Raven, and Picolo has made clear that his favourite is the hero this time round, Gar Logan. Their next project, announced for early next year, will come as no great surprise when I tell you it is a Raven/ Beast Boy team up. Many people thought that Joe Manganiello’s Deathstroke was going to wind up as the single most pointless addition to the Dceu’s mythology, and for good reason. Though his post-credits cameo in Justice League pointed to bigger and better things, it wasn’t long before Warner Bros. changed their plans.
Of course, Slade Wilson was being positioned to play a major role in the sequel, but that never happened. He was also set to be the antagonist of Ben Affleck’s The Batman, but as with Justice League 2, that also didn’t end up coming to fruition. And that’s all without mentioning the fact that he was supposed to star in a solo outing as well which – you guessed it – failed to materialize.

In an alternate version of our reality, not unlike the one that Warner Bros. are currently planning for their shared superhero universe, Joe Manganiello’s Deathstroke is an integral part of the Dceu. Having debuted in Justice League‘s post-credits scene, the actor went on to play a major role in Zack Snyder’s Part II, and proved to be a formidable foe when he faced off against Ben Affleck in The Batman.
The popularity of the character saw Manganiello headline his own blockbuster, with the origin story by The Raid‘s Gareth Evans perfectly blending a martial arts movie with the tropes of the comic book genre, firmly establishing the Magic Mike star’s take on Slade Wilson as a fan favorite. Of course, the major drawback is that none of this actually happened.

Joe Manganiello will return as Slade Wilson aka Deathstroke in Zack Snyder’s cut of “Justice League,” according to an individual with knowledge of the project.
Deathstroke first appeared in the post credit scene of 2017’s theatrical cut of “Justice League.” In the full scene, the assassin (aka Slade Wilson) is summoned to the luxury yacht of a returning Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg), where the pair set off to form their own band of antiheroes to block the heroics of Wonder Woman, Batman, Aquaman, Cyborg, Superman and The Flash.

It seems every decade, DC and Marvel each introduce a major threat that captures the readership’s imagination. In the 1980s, for DC that was Deathstroke, a wonderfully complex opponent to the New Teen Titans, reaching a high point with the much-lauded “The Judas Contract” storyline in 1985. In the hands of writer Marv Wolfman and artist George Pérez, he rose head and shoulders above most other super-villains of the day.
Since then, he has been used by virtually every writer, pitting him against most every mask and cape in the DC Universe. He’s successfully crossed over to animation and even live-action television and film. As a result, depending on the creators involved, he remains a fascinating, deadly threat or a run of the mill villain used to merely show up the hero.
