The comedy team "Lou and Ranny" was a Caribbean leader in the theatrical field, while Williams also was outstandingly influential as a stage actor in the LTM Jamaica Pantomime.
Ranny was a commentator on social and human behavior, using folklore stories to satirize the manners of the times in his creation, of several theatrical characters and incidents, for stage and radio.
Mas Ran's heritage continues in important traditions in the Caribbean theatre and in what has been inherited by West Indian stand-up comedians today.
Mas Ran achieved great fame with Louise Bennett [aka miss Lou] on Jamaica's radio 'Lou & Ranny Show' ( beginning on JBC radio in 1959,this popular comedy team's radio serial was the most outstanding of its kind), as well as the children's TV show 'Ring Ding'.
Williams attended Tutorial College, Calabar High and Kingston Technical High.
