Sometimes, contestants experience embarrassing and tough-to-watch moments on The Price Is Right, including bad luck or failed attempts to win the games.
One of the game show’s big moments involves a contestant spinning the wheel, where they could potentially win big money.
A contestant achieved impressive wheel spins in one recent episode after losing a brand-new car on the show.
However, another contestant didn’t fare as well during the Mother’s Day episode, and the audience let them hear about it.
Host Drew Carey also couldn’t help but laugh about the situation despite trying to give his assistance.
It was part of a bizarre and brutal sequence of events during an event celebrating the annual holiday.
Tpir contestant fails at the wheel as audience boos
The Friday, May 10 episode of The Price Is Right celebrated Mother’s Day, with mother-daughter duos getting to play the games together.

The Dodgers’ new $325 million man was an instant hit in his first live batting practice.
Teammates raved about the “nasty” stuff Yamamoto – who has yet to throw a major league pitch – displayed in his first outing since signing with his team. Yamamoto faced off against the Dodgers at their spring training complex in Camelback Ranch, Arizona.
The Los Angeles Times reported that Yamamoto told Japanese media that he was throwing at 96 mph in the 30 pitches he delivered. “I think this is not the best yet, and I’m going to keep adjusting with what I need to and it’s going to keep getting better,” he said.
First baseman Freddie Freeman said he was happy he won’t have to face Yamamoto.
“That was incredible. Nasty,” Freeman said to the Orange County Register. “To go out there, first time, all eyes on you and just dot every pitch? Very impressive.

By 2018, Will Compton, a 28-year-old backup linebacker on a one-year contract with the Tennessee Titans, knew his playing days were numbered. Contemplating a career after football, he considered going into real estate or coaching but couldn’t muster much enthusiasm for either. Driving home after a game one evening, he called Taylor Lewan, an offensive tackle for the Titans and his closest friend on the team, with whom he’d just done a postgame segment on Titans Radio. The two, who had bonded over their fondness for podcasts like The Joe Rogan Experience, had undeniable chemistry on the air, and the experience got them thinking about starting their own podcast. For Lewan, who had just signed a six-year deal with the Titans, it sounded like a fun time. For Compton, it was a go-for-broke career plan. The following year, they launched Bussin’ With the Boys.

Well before NFL star Tom Brady retired from professional football, his off-field legacy was beginning to take shape through a business that’s grown from a handful of people dedicated to optimizing the quarterback’s social media opportunities to a multidimensional creative studio with about 20 employees across the country.
The company is called Shadow Lion, and it was founded in 2017 by a core team including Brady’s longtime manager Ben Rawitz, Jeff Fine (who happens to be Rawitz’s brother), and Gilad Haas who previously worked for Brady’s New England Patriots teammate Julian Edelman. The firm is one of a few celebrity founded marketing agencies — think: Ryan Reynolds’ Maximum Effort — that have cropped up in recent years.

Making good on years of promises by the corporate overseers of Turner Sports, Warner Bros. Discovery is adding a live sports tier to Max.
The streaming add-on, which will carry the Bleacher Report brand now that the Turner name has faded away, will launch October 5 at $10 a month. No charge will be assessed to existing Max subscribers until next February 29. Unlike the long-defunct streaming service B/R Live, which was a stand-alone, the new offering will only be available as part of a Max subscription.

Logan Paul and Ksi are stepping up to the plate. The two influencers, who put aside their differences to form the beverage brand Prime Hydration, have secured a partnership with the second-most valuable franchise in Major League Baseball. Prime is now the official sports drink of the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Thanks to the deal, Prime will now be available at concession stands throughout Dodger Stadium. To christen the partnership, Paul and Ksi (real name J.J. The video footage from that experience suggests that influencer baseball may not catch on in the same way influencer boxing did.

If you’re a Major League Baseball fan, you’ve doubtless been experiencing some anxiety in recent weeks thanks to the ongoing decline of the regional sports network (Rsn) market. Many MLB teams see their games primarily distributed by RSNs, and the filing of bankruptcy by Bally Sports' parent company and the departure of Warner Bros. Discovery from its RSNs have left fans with tons of questions.
Thankfully for devotees of America’s Game, there will still be one contest to watch nearly every day of the first month of the season on ESPN+. Starting on Opening Day and running throughout the month of April, ESPN+ will feature some of the top teams in the league as they try to get their regular season off on the right foot. Local blackout restrictions do apply, so if your local team is your favorite this isn’t the best way to see their games.

Los Angeles Dodgers star Mookie Betts is releasing a documentary film in the days before he pursues his third World Series title that goes behind the baseball diamond to explore the home life and career of the legendary Jackie Robinson. And like Robinson, Betts hopes that with this film he’s able to demonstrate that there’s so much more to him than just being a ball player.
“I’m an athlete in this same space like he was, and I want to be known as more than an athlete,” Betts told TheWrap. “I don’t want to be just the athlete. I don’t want to be in just this little box. I know I’m more than that. Yes, I may be good at hitting the baseball, but I’m also good at being an entrepreneur and running companies and doing these things with my best friends.”

Major League Baseball hit another home run tonight.
As it did last year with Kevin Costner’s appearance at the Field of Dreams game in Iowa, the league brought in a Hollywood heavy hitter to add a little televised magic to the All-Star Game at Dodger Stadium.
Just before players took the field, Denzel Washington walked out in the late afternoon sun and gave the crowd a laconic but stirring remembrance of number 42 and all he meant, not just to the Dodgers or baseball or sports, but to the world. Fox Sports captured the moment.
“Ebbets Field, Brooklyn, 1947,” said Washington setting the scene. “When Jackie Robinson stepped onto a Major League Baseball field for the first time, armed with supreme talent and unshakable character and wearing a Dodgers uniform, he changed the game of baseball and so much more.”
He continued, “What he carried with him, what he represented, was towering.

It’s mid-July, which means most of the summer shows on broadcast and cable networks are in the middle of their seasons. Streamers are taking it relatively easy too, which means a relatively light menu of premieres for July 13-19 — although they include a series adaptation of the Resident Evil franchise, baseball’s annual Midsummer Classic and Nathan Fielder’s return to TV.
Below is The Hollywood Reporter‘s rundown of premieres, returns and specials over the next seven days. It would be next to impossible to watch everything, but let THR point the way to worthy options for the coming week. All times are Et/Pt unless noted.

Back in 1951, the New York Yankees were still on top, the Dodgers were in Brooklyn, the Giants roamed New York’s Polo Grounds, and fans could collect the first set of Topps playing cards at one cent for a pack of two.
Needless to say, a lot has changed the past 70 years, all of the above remain woven into the fabric of baseball. And much like last year’s Topps Project 2020, the trading card giant is giving artists the freedom to put their own stamp on traditional trading cards with Project70.
Coinciding with Topps’ anniversary of that first set, Project70 kicked off on Feb. 17. Topps tasked artists with “revisiting and reimagining 70 years of iconic baseball card designs,” according to the project’s microsite. The number of partnered artists increased from the 20 who worked on Project 2020 to an apropos 51, a callback to the year it all began.

“The Day Sports Stood Still,” a documentary about the unprecedented sports shutdown of March 2020, will debut on March 24 on HBO Sports.
The film centers on NBA All-Star and NBA Players Association president Chris Paul, who is also an executive producer. At the time, Paul played point guard for Oklahoma City Thunder and was up against the Utah Jazz on March 11, 2020, when the game suddenly stopped. He’ll relive his journey over the last year, reflecting on living in quarantine, his crucial role in helping the NBA reopen and what it was like playing in “the bubble.”
It is directed and produced by Antoine Fuqua and executive produced by Ron Howard, Sara Bernstein and Marc Gilbar. Brian Grazer and Justin Wilkes also serve as producers.
The NBA bubble infamously had no Covid-19 cases over a three-month period, culminating in a championship season for the Lakers. Not all organizations were quite so successful.

The win secured a 4-2 series victory against the Rays in the playoff finale played in Arlington, TX, the first neutral-site World Series ever thanks to the coronavirus pandemic.
Mookie Betts, the Dodgers’ big offseason acquisition, put the game out of reach with a solo homer in the eighth inning, after the Dodgers used seven pitchers to keep the Rays at bay and were able to erase an early 1-0 deficit with a two-run sixth inning after Tampa Bay starter Blake Snell was pulled.
The victory brought to a close a baseball season unlike any other, owing to Covid-19. The virus even reared its head tonight, when Dodgers third baseman Justin Turner suddenly left the...

Update: The Los Angeles Dodgers and San Francisco Giants joined an earlier demonstration by their major league brothers honoring Black Lives Matter in a pregame ceremony.
As at the earlier Yankees/Nationals game, opening day at Dodger Stadium saw the playing of a video from The Players Alliance, a group of African American players, calling for racial justice.
The Dodgers coaching staff and the entire San Francisco Giants squad wore T-shirts with “Black Lives Matter” written on it during the pre-game warmups. Both teams took a knee and held a black ribbon encircling the field during a moment of silence following The Players Alliance video.
During the national anthem, several Giants, including manager Gabe Kapler continued to take a knee, as they had during exhibition games in San Francisco. Mookie Betts July 23, 2020...

In the rush to get ready for a 60-game sprint with a reduced number of players available, the Los Angeles Dodgers have been playing their clubhouse attendant, Francisco Herrera, aka “Chico,” in their intrasquad games.
He’s not only playing, but starring.
In a tweet today, the Dodgers highlighted a difficult catch by Herrera off the bat of outfielder Mookie Betts. Herrera, playing left field, tracked down the Betts blast and fired the ball back in, doubling up a baserunner who presumed the line drive rocket was destined for extra bases.
The runner should have known better. On Saturday, Herrera made a similar play, tracking down a ball in deep left and firing the ball to second base, nabbing runner Chris Taylor who tried to tag up and advance from first. The play wasn’t even close, and Taylor was gunned down. .
Herrera has been a Dodgers fixture since 2008, working...

It's been 258 days and approximately 85 years since the Washington Nationals won the World Series. And it seems unlikely any of us will be taken out to the ballgame for peanuts, Cracker Jacks and a pennant race anytime soon. So, yeah, it's definitely a blow that Major League Baseball canceled tonight's All-Star Game for the first time since World War II. We won't see the likes of Mookie Betts and Mike Trout battle it out for division dominance (the prize of home advantage in the World Series was dropped in 2017) or watch teams' heavy hitters swing for the fences in the Home Run Derby. But, unlike other sporting events, baseball hasn't been permanently...

Baseball’s top free agents, like Mookie Betts of the Dodgers, are likely facing a non-existent free-agent market this offseason – and perhaps beyond that – if the sport can’t figure out a way to salvage at least a portion of the 2020 season.
Betts was scheduled to be paid $27 million this season, which has been delayed because of the Covid-19 pandemic. He and the Houston Astros’ George Springer, who was supposed to collect $21 million this season, are among the marquee players who might suffer, salary-wise, if owners and players can’t work out a deal to play.
The terms of baseball’s return, possibly as soon as July, are being negotiated by owners and the union that represents players. Issues being discussed are related to economics, of course, but health and safety, too. There have been more than 1.5 million cases of the virus in the U.S., resulting in almost 92,000 deaths.

A Mookie Betts trade to the San Diego Padres has reportedly already been discussed. The Boston Red Sox still appears keen on moving the former Mvp instead of losing him in free agency, and new trade rumors bring intrigue. It would be very interesting to see Betts land on a team that already has Manny Machado and Fernando Tatis Jr. […]...
