You probably know Lisa Ann Walter for her comedy, big personality and tell it like it is attitude. But, before she made her way onto our screens and into our hearts, she was just an Italian American kid growing-up in Washington, D.C. During a recent interview on WrapWomen‘s “UnWrapped” podcast, the “Abbott Elementary” star opened-up about the defining moment in her childhood that made her the person she is today.
“My sister and both my neighbors were molested by the pedophile that lived two houses down from me,” the actress revealed to co-hosts Emily Vogel and Andi Ortiz. “I was the one who made everybody tell, but it felt so powerless because nobody did anything about it. The dads didn’t do anything.”

From “House Bunny” and “Hot Chick,” to “Just Friends” and the “Scary Movie” franchise, it seems that just about every project Anna Faris touches becomes a cult classic. And she’s very thankful for it – but it wasn’t always that way.
Speaking to “UnWrapped” hosts Emily Vogel and Andi Ortiz, Faris admitted that, while she always recognized how lucky she was to have landed the “Scary Movie” franchise on her first audition, there was some resentment of what it did for her career after the fact.
“I went through a whole lot of internal agitation with being associated with comedy, solely,” she said. “Like, I did not feel like comedy was ever my strong suit. And it felt confusing. And I felt resentful to — like, after a while, it felt like, ‘Why can’t I get that audition?’ You know, ‘Why can’t I at least audition for whatever...

The 2023 Sundance Film Festival ruled the scene this week, as A-list stars and aspiring newcomers all trekked to the mountains of Utah to stake their claim to being a part of independent cinema’s biggest showcase. That left Hollywood a bit on the quiet side, but two of the world’s biggest names (Harrison and Oprah) introduced their new TV shows with big bashes in Tinseltown.

The 2023 Sundance Film Festival rolled into Park City, Utah, and so did both big stars and new-on-the-scene hopefuls. As usual, lots of companies came along for the brand marketing extravaganza, too, so the premieres, parties and other sorts of soirees mushroomed all over the pretty snow-covered city in the heart of the Wasatch Mountains. Here are a collection of the ones we enjoyed – with our favorite faces decked out in their warmest winter finery.

This week in Hollywood was packed to the gills with parties, screenings combined with glad-handing receptions, luncheons, galas, you name it, as awards season shifted into high gear. The Golden Globe Awards came back, with nary a swag suite nor a studio afterparty in the usually packed Beverly Hilton environs and low ratings on the NBC broadcast. Will they be back next year? If all the stars who Did show up and cried when they won have a say, the answer is apparently “yes.”
