Real Housewives devotees are a lucky fandom because the Bravo franchise promises a limitless stream of meme-worthy moments with every new season. And if Andy Cohen has anything to say about it, then the unhinged chaos isn’t letting up any time soon.
Every year, there’s one city that takes the cake in entertainment value and last year the clear winner was inarguably Salt Lake City. During the finale, Heather Gay brought the women to the beach to reveal that fellow Housewife Monica Garcia was behind the Instagram account “Reality Von Tease,” dedicated to exposing former Housewife Jen Shah, and other Housewives, for the past three years. The big reveal, and their ensuing confrontation, is now considered one of the most masterly scenes in Bravoverse history.

Edgar Lansbury, a Tony Award-winning producer and younger brother of actress Angela Lansbury, died Thursday at age 94 at his home in Manhattan, according to his son. No cause was given.
Peggy Gordon, who played in Lansbury’s Godspell, posted the news on Facebook.
“My huge adorable and adoring Godspell family, we have now lost our surrogate daddy, Edgar Lansbury. How blessed was he to live such a full, rich, wonderful life surrounded by people who adored him. Don Scardino says there will be a memorial probably this fall. Contact any and all of your Godspell family members from all ten original companies, plus London (hi Gay) and anyone else I”ve missed. Man, if Joe Beruh was waiting for Edgar with a cigarette in his mouth, I have no doubt Edgar made Joe stomp on it. Love never dies. It’s an energy that only transmutes into matter. That’s all of us.

According to the combined predictions of “So You Think You Can Dance” fans who have made their forecasts here in our predictions center, Easton Magliarditi went into the top 10 of season 18 as the front-runner to win and as the fan-favorite who should claim the grand prize. He had some trouble in “Challenge #1: Music Videos,” though, so it might be surprising that leading up to tonight’s “Challenge #2: Broadway,” he’s still the man to beat according to our users. Check out our odds for tonight’s episode here, or scroll down to see our winner predictions.
Contemporary specialist Magliarditi has wowed the judges with his technical abilities on the show, but they thought he looked somewhat uncomfortable performing with a group. Meanwhile, choreographer Luther Brown observed that when he struggled with moves during rehearsals “he throws everything away.” He landed in the bottom four with Braylon Browner, Avery Gay and Olivia Alboher.

The dramedy follows three brothers who meet up to discuss what to do with their octogenarian father who has started behaving oddly. As they debate whether to put him in a nursing home or have him move in with one of them, the polite family meeting descends into an outrageous, out-of-control fight.
Carmen Machi (Piggy), Javier Cámara (Talk to Her) and Javier Gutierrez (Prison 77) star in the film version.
Gay is best known internationally for his 2015 breakout Truman, starring Ricardo Darín and Javier Cámara. His other features include Stories Not to Be Told (2022), En la ciudad (2003), and Nico and Dani (2000).

“So You Think You Can Dance” season 18 advanced to the top 10 this week, but it surprised its contestants by revealing that most of the competition would take place outside of the studio in scenarios meant to reflect a real career in dance. The first challenge was to perform in a music video. Five of the contestants performed to a reimagined version of Justin Bieber‘s “All Around Me” video, choreographed by Phillip and Makenzie Chbeeb. Watch it above.
Roman Nevinchanyi, Jaylin Sanders, Avery Gay, Braylon Browner and Dakayla Wilson were randomly selected for this contemporary number, with ballroom dancer Nevinchanyi and hip-hop dancer Sanders stepping the most out of their comfort zones. But they all had to stretch their capabilities for a routine that involved complicated prop work using a ladder. Filmax has taken global distribution rights for “My Friend Eva,” the latest from Spanish director Cesc Gay whose ‘Truman’ proved a notable hit overseas, scoring substantial theatrical returns in several territories.
Set against the backdrops of Barcelona and Rome, this romantic comedy boasts Nora Navas (“Libertad”) Juan Diego Botto (“The Suicide Squad”) and Rodrigo de la Serna (“Money Heist”).

The new film turns on Eva, 50, a married woman on the quest for passion whose life takes a dramatic turn after a serendipitous encounter in Rome. Despite being let go from The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, Monica Garcia is still on the minds of her former co-stars.
Recently, every interview you read with a cast member from the Bravo hit has to include sentiments about Garcia.
It makes sense because, when you think about it, would we even be talking about the show at this point without Garcia’s impact?
Lisa Barlow has spoken out about her nemesis a few times, opening up about her belief that icing her out was a good idea for the show.
Now, Barlow is opening up about red flags she had about her fired co-star long before she was cast on the show.
Barlow recently spoke with Page Six’s Virtual Reali-Tea podcast and recalled when the mother of four called her before filming and was “super nice.”

Monica Garcia is exiting The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City after one season.
The Bravo reality star found herself at odds with her co-stars when it was revealed she was behind an Instagram fan account that trolled her fellow housewives.
Andy Cohen, who is an executive producer on the show, explained the reasons for why producers opted to put Garcia on pause.
“The news is out that we are going to have a cooling-off period,” Cohen said on his SiriusXM show Andy Cohen Live.
He continued, “I think the reunion is the chance to come out [and] say why you did what you did on the season. It’s the Supreme Court of public opinion. And so Monica had the opportunity, not only to explain herself to the audience but way more importantly, in this case, to the other women. And I don’t think she successfully swayed any of them to her side.

After the explosive finale and three-part reunion to The Real Housewives of Salt Laky City, it would seem that Monica Garcia is out of the franchise.
But, not so fast.
The Bravo reality series and Garcia are taking a break — a “cooling off period,” Andy Cohen clarified Wednesday. That means the door for her return is still open, a source confirms to The Hollywood Reporter.
Speaking on his Radio Andy show the morning after season four concluded with the third and final reunion show, the executive and reunion host said of Garcia’s current status with the show: “We are going to have a cooling off period, I think.”
When pressed by his co-host John Hill about what a “cooling off period” means, Cohen explained that the women are currently not in a position to forgive Garcia, which makes it unlikely they would film with her again. Complicating things is...

Monica Garcia will not be returning for Season 5 of Bravo’s “The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” after she was unmasked in the Jan. 2 season finale as an abusive troll who had anonymously attacked the members of the cast since March 2021. Garcia’s castmate Heather Gay, who’s been on the show since the beginning, had received the “Receipts! Proof! Timeline! Screenshots!” of Garcia’s deception on the final day of filming the show’s fourth season, during a trip to Bermuda.
In an exclusive interview for Variety’s Making a Scene, Gay says when she got the confirmation that Garcia was behind the burner Instagram account Reality Von Tease, she wasn’t even sure she’d even be allowed to bring it up on camera. “Social media has never been a part of storyline,” Gay says. “I didn’t even know if production was going to listen to me.

Capitol Hill has been a hot mess all day, starting with the unexpected appearance from Hunter Biden during a House Oversight Committee as the GOP held a hearing on whether to hold him in contempt after declining to show up to a deposition in December.
Amid the turmoil Biden’s visit caused, Democratic congressman Robert Garcia made a case against Donald Trump and channeled The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Heather Gay.
Garcia went viral after a clip of him was shared on social media, where he quoted Gay during a pivotal scene in the show’s Season 4 finale.
“And what do we have as Democrats? We have receipts. Proof. A timeline. Screenshots. We have everything we need to prove conclusively that foreign governments were funneling money through Trump Properties and into Donald Trump’s pockets, all in violation of the Constitution,” Garcia said in the viral clip.

Monica Garcia was always a different kind of Housewife.
Even before the events of the Jan. 2 finale of Season 4, the latest addition to “The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” set herself apart from her new colleagues. Bravo’s biggest franchise is an ode to the nouveau riche and their tasteless McMansions, but Garcia wore her working class bona fides with pride. Her entry into the franchise was not as a “friend of” or peer to an existing cast member, but a former assistant — infamously, one of many — to Jen Shah, now a convicted felon serving time in federal prison. In her first episodes, Garcia openly discussed her struggles as a single mom and called out costar Lisa Barlow for her materialism. She wasn’t another tequila magnate with a $60,000 ring (Barlow) or a boutique owner bankrolling her son’s monogrammed sweatpants (Meredith Marks). She was a working person, just like you and me.

For the entirety of Good Grief, I couldn’t look away from Dan Levy’s sweater: that excellent cable-knit style popularized in recent films like Knives Out, yet here in a lovely dove gray unlike the usual preppy cream. It was also radically different from the black-and-white jumpers he modeled as David Rose in the dramedy Schitt’s Creek, establishing that queer character’s distinctive fashion sense in a uniform that would recur even with his emotional development. Yet it feels like a costuming through-line to Levy’s next memorable character, widower Marcus, in his feature debut as a writer-director.
Here the sweater signifies the very human desperation to hold on to something of the past, even when it brings us pain. As Marc learns through his own figurative unraveling after a year of grief, a memento like that doesn’t have to be...

Harvard president Claudine Gay has resigned after becoming embroiled in a pair of controversies over on-campus antisemitism and plagiarism.
Gay spent just over six months as president of Harvard, having assumed the role on July 1, 2023. She was the university’s first Black president, and has now served the shortest tenure of any president in the school’s history. Alan M. Garber, the current Provost and Chief Academic Officer, will step in as interim president. (The student paper, The Harvard Crimson, was the first to report Gay’s resignation.)

The hottest reality TV stars in show business gathered on Wednesday to celebrate Variety’s inaugural Women of Reality TV power list, presented by DirecTV. Honoring the 40 most powerful women in unscripted entertainment, the Bravo elite mingled with real estate flippers, dancers, judges, singers, survivors, amazing racers and those just looking for love.
Despite being at capacity with women known for delivering on drama, the conversation often revolved around the realities of being vulnerable with the world. And for just one night, everyone was there for the right reasons.
Snacking on caviar potato puffs and Spago’s salmon pizza, the honorees gathered for a cocktail party before the dinner. An elated Heidi D’Amelio of “The D’Amelios” snapped a selfie with “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” star Teresa Giudice, who flew in for the celebration with husband Luis Ruelas. In the divorce battle shaping up between Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner, Jessica Chastain appears to have planted herself on Team Sophie.
As more details emerge about the split between the Jonas Brothers singer and the “Game of Thrones” star, one point of contention is where their two children will be residing, with Turner claiming that Jonas is refusing to relinquish their passports so they can live with her in the U.K.
On Friday, Chastain appeared to weigh in on the matter when she reposted an X (formerly Twitter) post from writer and professor Roxane Gay.

There’s something about Mary Cosby!
The outspoken church leader, who was an original cast member on “The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City,” is back as a “friend” for Season 4, the just-released trailer reveals.
“Here I am,” Cosby declares as she enters her costar Meredith Marks’ boutique. “Somebody farted!” she later observes.
Cosby exited the show after not attending the Season 2 reunion. She had been criticized for making racist comments towards her then-costars Jen Shah (who is currently serving a 6.5 year prison sentence after pleading guilty to committing wire fraud) and Jennie Nguyen, which she later apologized for.
Cosby joins full-time and returning housewives Marks, Lisa Barlow, Heather Gay and Whitney Rose. Angie Katsanevas, who was a “friend” in Season 3, has been promoted to full-time status, and Monica Garcia joins the cast as the newest snowflake holder.
Newcomer Garcia reveals that like Gay, she was excommunicated from the Mormon Church.

When Lizzo’s Watch Out for the Big Grrrls reality show, championing body positivity and inclusivity, captured an Emmy last year, perhaps more notable than its upset win was the entertainer’s emotional acceptance speech.
Calling the trophy for outstanding competition series “nice” after beating out extremely popular TV programs like RuPaul’s Drag Race, The Voice, The Amazing Race and Top Chef, Lizzo said: “When I was a little girl, all I wanted to see was me in the media, someone fat like me, Black like me, beautiful like me.”
She closed her speech by pointing to her cast of plus-size female dancers of color, who cheered loudly from their seats. “One year ago these women were filming this television show that would change their lives forever. They are Emmy Award-winning superstars who are going on a world tour. Make some noise for my Big Grrrls. I love you guys so much.

The legendary Tony Bennett died at the age of 96 in New York City. Photo: Anne-Katrin Titze
Tony Bennett died on Friday, July 21, at the age of 96, in his hometown of New York City. In addition to being a renowned song stylist with numerous guest appearances on television and in the movies, he was also the founding father of Johanna Bennett and Mandy Ward's innovative and engaging First Time Fest. I first met Tony when I was introduced to him and his wife, Susan, by Gay Talese in 2013 when Gay and I were on the inaugural First Time Fest jury together with Killer Films’ Christine Vachon and the B-52s Fred Schneider. As a two-time First Time Fest juror, I witnessed Tony's unwavering support for his daughter Johanna. I remember him fondly.

This article contains mild Oppenheimer spoilers.
At 8:15 a.m. on the morning of Aug. 6, 1945, an American B-29 bomber called the Enola Gay arrived at its target above the heart of Hiroshima, Japan. Below was a city that had been left relatively untouched by the ravages of the brutal Second World War. That changed to horrifying effect after the B-29 dropped its payload above a bridge at the city’s center: an atomic bomb codenamed “Little Boy.” It would be the first nuclear weapon deployed in anger in the history of humanity. The second came three days later when another A-bomb was dropped on the Japanese city of Nagasaki.
Nearly 80 years later, the carnage and horror these weapons inflicted remain infamous. With each bomb, 40,000 people—men, women, and children—were vaporized in an instant by the heat of an atomic flash. Thousands more perished from the devastation inflicted by the fireball which followed.

MSNBC’s The “Morning Joe” crew was pretty horrified on Thursday morning by Ron DeSantis’ new anti-lgbtq ad, but they also got a good laugh out of it. Because, according to the panelists, it was ironically very “homoerotic.”
The video, which is more than a minute long, not only attacks Trump, but touts DeSantis’ discrimination against the community, at one point likening him — voluntarily — to Patrick Bateman, the serial killer portrayed by Christian Bale in “American Psycho.” Set to club music, it also contains shots of Brad Pitt from the movie “Troy,” along with other figures DeSantis apparently sees himself on par with.
Ad executive Donny Deutsch admitted he was “stumped” by how “twisted” and “deviant” the video is, but New York Times editorial board member Mara Gay pointed out the distinct undertones she picked up on.

Porsha Williams sits in the confessional chair of the Peacock show, which brings together cast members from Bravo’s Real Housewives franchise on an all-star vacation. “Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” Jennifer Shah and her legal woes are the talk of the town — even thousands of miles away in Thailand.
Filming on “Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip” started in mid-July 2022 — two days after Shah plead guilty in federal court to one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud related to an alleged telemarketing scheme. It was a total change from the not-guilty plea she entered in court two months prior — and the innocence she professed throughout Season 3 of “The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City.”
Shah wasn’t invited to Thailand (nor could she travel given her ongoing case), but her “Rhoslc” castmate and staunch supporter Heather Gay made the trip. And several housewives couldn’t wait to hear the latest from Gay, who was with Shah right until the moment she entered the courthouse.

Argentina’s Impacto Cine (“Lady Di”) has swooped on all Latin American sales rights to Cesc Gay’s comedy “Stories Not To Be Told” (“Historias Para No Contar”), propelling it into the territory and cementing its regional footing.
International sales on the title are handled by Filmax, in a longterm relationship with Gay.
News of the sale comes as Filmax readies to present Alex de la Iglesia’s shook-up black comedy “Four’s a Crowd” (“El cuarto pasajero”), a wayward romance tale that takes a dark turn, to industry peers at Argentina’s Ventana Sur this week in Buenos Aires.
“We’re proud to have the opportunity to join forces with Filmax and bring this Spanish film, from the excellent Cesc Gay to Latin American audiences,” Impacto Cine’s Luis Ignacio Perez Endara told Variety, talking “Stories Not To Be Told.”
He added:“The director, now in full creative maturity and with his trademark fluid,...

Director Gina Prince-Bythewood launched her film career with the 2000 romantic sports drama “Love & Basketball,” which now is considered a cult classic. She would go on to shoot an adaptation of the female-driven book ‘The Secret Life of Bees’ in 2008. Meanwhile, she discovered a true talent with Gugu Mbatha-Raw as a troubled singer in the 2014 showbiz saga ‘Beyond the Lights.’
But Prince-Bythewood switched gears in 2020 and embraced the action genre with ‘The Old Guard,’ starring Charlize Theron and KiKi Layne. But her latest release, ‘The Woman King.’ is a throwback to the heroic action epics of yore, such as “The Last of the Mohicans,” “Braveheart,” “Gladiator” and “Spartacus.” The twist is that the mighty warriors known as the Agojir are Black women going through training for war in the West African kingdom of Dahomey in 1823. The headliner here is Oscar winner Viola Davis, who plays General Nanisca. She is tired...

When you look at how the Marvel Cinematic Universe started and where it is now, you'll notice that it's landed itself in a very unusual spot. After all, Marvel Studios spent well over a decade putting together a series of films that would ultimately pave the road to their big finale. Since then, Phase 4 has been taking a looser approach to the MCU, which feels oddly fitting given that our world and Marvel after "Endgame" had to follow a cataclysmic event, and the subsequent projects that followed were thematically asking themselves "well, what the hell do we do now?"
