When I think back on the ABC fairytale series Once Upon a Time, I first and foremost picture the “requel” season’s Cinderella 2.0 on a motorcycle.

Terror Vision has quickly become one of my go-to labels for obscure horror titles, and they're getting a jump-start on the Halloween season with #13WeeksOfHalloween, offering an eclectic mix of new, rare, and cult releases on VHS, Blu-ray, 4K Uhd, LP, and cassette:
"Halloween is Terror Vision's favorite time of the year but it's always a bummer when it's over. Much like many of you, the beloved genre distributor begins celebrating the spooky season in September... but this year, that's not good enough - and that's why they've created #13WeeksOfHalloween.

There are timeless children's stories that have warmed the hearts of parents and kiddos alike. But for every sugary sweet tale, it's not hard to find just as many that send shivers down your spine. Perhaps it's one you heard as a child that felt a little off. Or maybe you discovered the disturbing origins of your favorite Disney princess as an adult. Whether you've blocked them out of your mind or they haunt you to this day, there are some excellent horror movie concepts to be mined from these fables.
We know Hollywood is always searching for the next big horror franchise. Well, look no further than a handful of beloved children's stories! Some need minor tweaks to push them over the edge, while others are downright horror shows in their original form. From classic fables like "The Boy Who Cried Wolf" to the actual "Little Mermaid" and new...

Parenting, in many ways, is a roller coaster of control. It’s a process that, if it starts from the birth of child, is a tradeoff of autonomy for trying to keep a tiny human alive. Turns out that process is not that much different on TV. As soon as The Baby pops up in the new HBO/Sky co-production “The Baby,” it takes feats of superhuman strength to wrest attention away from him.
Most of this child’s time is spent around Natasha (Michelle de Swarte), an accomplished chef who escapes the city for a remote cabin. After a startlingly matter-of-fact series of events, she returns as the unsuspecting guardian of the small, crawling Baby. Despite her best efforts to turn the little boy over to authorities or foist him on someone else, the two become linked almost immediately.
The more that she tries to figure out a way...

This Shameless review contains spoilers.
Shameless Season 11 Episode 6
“It’s the end of an era…”
Shameless widely advertised that this is the series’ final season, but this episode is the first time that it’s actually felt like the end of the show and that it’s getting ready to say goodbye. The first half of Shameless season 11 has been very messy and it’s even often felt careless at times. This is a season that’s been about change, both in respect to the Gallaghers and Chicago as a whole, which is a theme that’s been explored in many different manners, some of which have been more successful than others.
Past storylines haven’t necessarily complemented each other, but Shameless’ final season starts to connect some of these dots as it prepares to head off into the sunset. “Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good…Eh, Screw It” is still a flawed episode,...

The writers of Once Upon A Time screwed over a lot of characters. Let's just acknowledge that right now. It'll save time.
One of the characters treated the most miserably is Belle French, the Beauty to Rumplestiltskin's Beast.
Because let's face it, that's all she ever really was, and that's the problem.
When Belle was introduced to the story on Once Upon A Time Season 1 Episode 12, viewers were unsure if they would ever see her again.
She wasn't a series regular. She was only on two episodes on Once Upon A Time Season 1.
The world of Once Upon A Time already had the main cast when Belle was introduced. It consisted of Emma, Snow White, Prince Charming, The Evil Queen, Rumplestiltskin, and Henry.
Only two of those characters were in a romantic relationship: Snow and Charming. They were both leads, and they were a team. Neither played the role of "love interest.

Throughout Once Upon a Time's seven seasons, Killian Jones and Regina Mills crossed paths frequently, with both of them eventually merging into the Charming family. Hook had a romantic relationship with Emma, while Regina and Emma co-parented their son, Henry.
Killian and Regina shared similar pasts, insecurities, dreams, and characteristics. Their villainous arcs began by losing a loved one, but eventually, they redeemed themselves and sought happy endings. They both had toxic relationships with a parent, and they both committed similar acts of evil, and later on, bravery.
Once Upon a Time portrayed these two characters as two sides of the same coin, but one side was clearly cheaper -- Killian Jones. His character was a mediocre, undeveloped version of Regina Mills.
Regina was arguably the highlight of Once Upon a Time. Starting as the main villain, she endured a tumultuous redemption arc, ultimately ending up as a hero,...

Traitors, betrayers, backstabbers -- they have reservations to dine with Judas and Brutus, but when it comes to TV they're a necessary evil. Their ability to pull the rug out from under our heroes is what keeps us glued to our screens. Finding out if they will reign supreme or finally be outwitted is what keeps coming back for more.

Why do they do it, we ask. Some times there are sympathetic or tragic motives. Others delight in being a card-carrying villain who brings chaos to the realm. Many do it for riches and power. Whatever the reason, all we can do is watch in awed horror as they commit one unspeakable deed after another.
Traitors come disguised as all sorts of characters: saintly doctors, childhood friends, or grandmas raising a pack of kids all on their own.

Once Upon a Time fans are all up in their feelings that ABC’s fairytale extravaganza is coming to an end — but there is no need to shed any tears tonight, because there are two episodes left until we say good by to Roni, Henry, Hook, Alice, Tiana and the rest of the gang. The episode begins with a flashback featuring young Henry (Jared S. Gilmore) about to rescue a sleeping princess with a true love’s kiss. As he is about to plant one on her, a fire-breathing dragon comes out and attacks. Just when he is about to slay it,...

It’s almost time to close the storybook on “Once Upon A Time,” the fairy tale drama branchild of “Lost” veterans Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz. The series will come to an end after seven seasons on ABC May 18, with the creators hoping to leave their audience a little more hopeful than how they found them.
“I think we were the first show to put a sword in Snow White’s hand, and we didn’t have damsels in distress. I hope our legacy is people realize that they can save themselves,” said Kitsis at an event celebrating the series Tuesday in Los Angeles, Calif.
Despite believing they would get canceled their first season, Kitsis and Horowitz revealed that the first seed for the show actually began with discussions about the Evil Queen/Regina, who came to be played by Lana Parrilla.
“We started talking about how frustrating would it...

There’s a tiny plaque at the front door of the Steveston, British Columbia cafe that provides the exterior for Once Upon a Time‘s Granny’s. It reads:
Everyone Who Passes Through This Door Brings
Happiness. Some by Entering. Some by Leaving.
Folksy sass aside, the sentiment is fitting as the ABC series’ cast mills around the diner’s front patio during the filming of the series finale, which is titled “Leaving Storybrooke” and will air across two Fridays (on May 11 and 18).

Once Upon A Time Season 7 has certainly had some stumbling blocks. It’s had some really strong episodes and a few stinkers as they head toward the series’ final episodes. However, I’ve maintained that when it continues to tell stories about its older characters like Regina, Zelena, Henry and Rumplestiltskin, the show still has emotional stakes and is overall compelling. “The Guardian” is a strong supporter of that theory. Sure, there was still a lot of the new characters with some good material and some “meh”, but at the heart of this week’s episode was an emotional story centered around the

It was exactly five years ago today that Once Upon a Time served up one of its most anticipated moments, one-and-a-half seasons into its run.
