It’s undoubtedly one of the most fiercely debated questions in all of sports: Is today’s brand of NBA basketball better or worse than during the Michael Jordan-led heyday of the 1990s? While discerning sports fans can disagree, there is perhaps no one better equipped to dive into the particulars of that question than longtime NBA journalist (and former NFL All-Pro wide receiver) Ahmad Rashad.
“The thing is about Michael, if you ever ask him, ‘Who’s better you or LeBron?’, you know what his answer is?” Rashad asked The Streamable this week. “‘You can’t compare; we never played against each other, so we’ll never know.’ That’s his answer. It’s one of those things that is a good ‘have a beer’ at a bar argument. Enjoy yourself with the argument and nobody’s wrong. You’re both right!”

Skip Bayless is getting backlash from sports stars.
On Monday, after Buffalo Bills star Damar Hamlin suffered cardiac arrest following a tackle during an NFL game, the 71-year-old sports commentator fired off a tweet that had some calling for his firing.

“Undisputed” sports commentator Shannon Sharpe’s unexplained absence from the Fox show on Tuesday led fans to speculate that he was silently protesting co-host Skip Bayless’ insensitive tweet about Damar Hamlin from the night before.
The 24-year-old Buffalo Bills player collapsed on the field during Monday night’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals. CPR was administered for 10 minutes before Hamlin’s heartbeat was restored, and he remains hospitalized in critical condition.
While thousands of fans tweeted their concern for Hamlin, Bayless seemed more focused on the game itself.
“No doubt the NFL is considering postponing the rest of this game – but how?” Bayless tweeted at 9:30 p.m, before the game was officially postponed, “This late in the season, a game of this magnitude is crucial to the regular-season outcome … which suddenly seems so irrelevant.”

This heartfelt and affecting film follows two teenagers chasing scholarships that hold out the chance of a brighter future
Twenty-five years ago, documentary-maker Steve James had a sensational success with his engrossing and moving film Hoop Dreams, now on rerelease in the UK. It was his epic three-hour study of two African American boys from tough neighbourhoods in Chicago: Arthur Agee and William Gates, whose heartbreakingly open, intelligent, trusting and hopeful faces beamed out from the screen. James boiled down 250 hours of footage shot over five years, showing them growing up from 14 to 19 years old; both basketball-mad, both hoping for basketball scholarships to college and to a dimly perceived better life after that, maybe even being actual super-rich-and-famous basketball stars in the NBA.
Hoop Dreams received the kind of passionate response that Michael Apted had got for his Seven Up! documentary TV series or that Richard Linklater would later get...

Denver Nuggets star Isaiah Thomas is now Zion Williamson's unofficial career adviser now -- telling the Duke star to Stop Playing College Ball Asap ... and wait for the NBA. Actually, It was much more to the point -- "Zion sit yo ass down lol and we will be ready for you in the big boy league." Thomas has a real issue with NBA rules that forbids top players from entering the NBA Draft right out of high school.

Kevin Hart strips down and gets personal on Season 2 of his ice-bath interview series “Cold as Balls.”
“I’ve got major shrinkage,” complained Hart as he sunk into the ice in the premiere episode that aired Tuesday night on the “Get Hard” actor’s Laugh Out Loud network.
But not all of Hart’s conversation topics were funny, especially with first guest Lamar Odom.
“Do you realize how close to death you were?” he asked the former Los Angeles Lakers star, bluntly referring to his infamous health crisis after he was found unconscious at the Love Ranch brothel in Nevada in October 2015.

Shares in the Madison Square Garden Co. gained more than 2% today to reach a new record high and have risen 17% since Wednesday’s news that Msg plans to spin off the New York Knicks and Rangers sports franchises.
The stock ended the trading day at $312.92, on more than triple the average trading volume, at one point spiking to a new 52-week high of $321.92.
Long-suffering Knicks and Rangers fans hope the spinoff augurs a change of ownership, with James Dolan recently sending signals he is more committed to his burgeoning blues-rock career than pro sports. But that’s the sports talk-radio angle — plus, the company tamped down that speculation by issuing an unambiguous statement: “There are no plans to sell the Knicks or the Rangers.”
