The newest resident on Sesame Street wears bright orange suspenders and a bowtie to match. The Sesame Workshop has collaborated with Blippi on a series of videos that will be released across both brands’ respective channels.
The partnership launches on February 3 and features Sesame Street characters like Big Bird, Elmo, Abby, and Herb the Dinosaur. They’ll meet up with Blippi (whose real name is Stevin John) and his friend Meekah (real name Kaitlin Becker), who both lead educational adventures for Blippi’s 19.3 million YouTube subscribers.
In their collabs with Sesame Street characters, Blippi and Meekah will operate an excavator, give Big Bird a paleontology lesson, and help Abby plan a surprise party for Elmo. The partnership includes multiple original songs to go along with its positive messaging and scientific syllabus. It’s unclear whether Elmo will ask viewers how they’re doing.

In a rare collab with another preschool brand, Sesame Workshop’s “Sesame Street” and Moonbug’s “Blippi” are getting together for a series of videos in which Elmo and his pals interact with Blippi and his friends. The videos kick off on Saturday with the premiere of “Blippi and Meekah’s Birthday Surprise for Elmo.”
That’s the first of three videos that have been produced for social and online, with the possibility of more along the way. Elmo, Big Bird, Abby, Blippi, Meekah, Herb the Dinosaur and more will be seen in the collection of episodes and music videos when they premiere simultaneously on the “Blippi” and “Sesame Street” YouTube channels. Further videos will launch in June and September.
Both shows feature collaborations with celebrities and other figures, but it’s rare for two completely separate preschool entities to get together and work on a project like this. But...

Blippi, the blue-and-orange-clad character portrayed by Stevin John, is getting a new spinoff. Candle Media, which acquired Blippi owner Moonbug last year in a deal worth a reported 3 billion, has announced Meekah. The Netflix show will star the titular character, who first appeared on the Blippi YouTube channel last year.
Meekah is portrayed by Kaitlin Becker, who previously appeared on the Daytime Emmy-nominated programming block Sunny Side Up. Like Blippi, Meekah appeals to preschool-age children. Becker’s character helps those young viewers understand artistic and scientific concepts. In one of the most popular videos on the Meekah YouTube channel, the titular character meets a dinosaur during one of her adventures.
Since splitting off onto her own channel, Meekah has gained about 588,000 subscribers and pulled in more than 258 million lifetime views. Now, Moonbug and Candle Media will see if those numbers can translate onto a new platform. Blippi is already a hit on Netflix,...

Moonbug Entertainment is set to expand its children’s empire on Netflix, betting that the Blippi universe has room for growth.
When Candle Media, the Blackstone-backed content rollup led by Kevin Mayer and Tom Staggs, acquired Moonbug Entertainment last year at a 3 billion valuation, much of the attention was on Cocomelon.
The animated preschool franchise is one of the most popular channel owners on YouTube, and its Netflix show is one of the most popular kids programs on the streaming platform. But Moonbug, under its new ownership, has also been seeking to expand, acquiring the Little Angel YouTube franchise earlier this year.
Now, it’s using one of its own brands, Blippi, as a jumping off point.
To that end, Netflix will launch the first spin-off show set in the world of Blippi starring Meekah, a character played by Kaitlin Becker who...

At a glance, parental hatred for Blippi and his insanely popular YouTube video series seems irrational.
After all, the guy (real name: Stevin John) pulls in hundreds of millions of clicks all over the globe every time he plays at a park or bops around a children’s museum. But for moms and dads who view Blippi disdainfully, his voice, orange spectacle frames, spelling errors and perceived lack of water safety in and around swimming pools has sparked everything from playful parodies to vitriolic posts on Reddit.

Kids’ content giant Moonbug is turning its hit live-action Blippi property into a new 3D animated series dubbed Blippi Wonders.
Moonbug says the show marks the first time that Blippi -- the creation of performer Stevin John, a childlike character bedecked in a blue and orange beanie, suspenders, and bow tie -- will be available as a computer-generated cartoon. The series will feature Blippi's faithful sidekicks Tabbs and Fetch, launching today, with three-minute installments to drop every Tuesday.
Creating a cartoon Blippi also enables the franchise to avoid past controversies. In 2019, a different performer was tapped to portray the titular character on tour, unbeknownst to some attendees -- though Moonbug says it notified ticket buyers and subsequently offered refunds. In May, Blippi announced that the tour actor, Clayton Grimm, would continue to appear in digital content as well, sharing duties with John, per Yahoo.

It’s a little difficult to say what became of Stevin John, aka Blippi, a YouTube-based children’s show that was all about learning, but it’s easier to state that kids loved him and adults approved of his style since his show was a great way for kids to learn and be entertained at the same time. It’s difficult to think of how many different shows there are on TV today that are geared towards being educational for children and yet are either far too boring or too entertaining to the point that they’re more for enjoyment and not nearly as useful
