Hitomi and her daughter Eri are cellists. The two seem to have a rather loving relationship, to the point of codependency on occasion. As the latter, however, seems to become more rebellious, a certain level of tension arises between them. One fateful night, after a magnificent duet at Eri's school concert, they are involved in a major car accident (?), from which they emerge badly injured. Hitomi loses her eyesight and Eri is paralyzed from the neck down. In her desperation, Hitomi stumbles upon a new, still experimental contact lens device invented by Dr. Tomio Miike, which will restore her vision,...

In the mid-2000s, one of the main selling points in mainstream horror was the so-called Torture Porn scene. Emphasizing extreme violence, brutality, and relentless torture and suffering from its victims at the expense of traditional suspense and chills, the scene had a massive amount of mainstream appeal thanks to films like “Saw,” “Hostel,” “Wolf Creek,” and “The Collector” among others bringing about massive financial gain and audience acceptance which brought about numerous attempts throughout the world. After the Japanese effort “Grotesque” started the Asian countries jumping on the trend, Taiwanese director Kevin Ko tackled the genre with his debut feature “Invitation Only” which is now available on physical media from Unearthed Films.

Call Me Chihiro is a movie directed by Rikiya Imaizumi starring Kasumi Arimura. With Lily Franky and Jun Fubuki. It is based on a manga by Hiroyuki Yasuda.
This movie seeks enchanting the viewer with the always charming presence of Kasumi Arimura in a movie created for her in which she manages to bring that “special touch” of special manga by Hiroyuki Yasuda.
Movie Review Call Me Chihiro (2023)
This movie is all about taking its time in order to describe the characters and the situations, the inner world and, above all, that poetic world that extends itself beyond the narrative, which is apparently simple and even uncomplicated if considered from a classic way, but is essentially paused and reflective, a very beautiful movie.
Call Me Chihiro is, above all a movie in which the lead character knows how to seduce the viewer and displays herself exactly as she is: this...

The world of stuntmen has always been a captivating one, even if, for the sake of the “legacy” of the movie stars these people double, their work is left in the background. Despite the fact, movies such as “The Stunt Woman” and “Uzumasa Limelight” explore the lives of these individuals and their role within the industry in the most captivating way. “Lone Wolf” (aka The Last Stunt Man” as its title is Japan) moves in the same direction, although focusing more on a fictional dramatic story than their work in the industry.
