And with its final installment, we have our answer about who killed Little Man.
The intricate story of Covey comes to its conclusion on Black Cake Season 1 Episode 8. But the finale does a decent job of leaving the series open-ended so that this presumed mini-series could expand into another season.
And with the critical acclaim, it wouldn't be surprising if Black Cake got a renewal.
There's undoubtedly more to this bold series to explore. While there's indeed some form of closure on Coventina/ Eleanor Bennett's story, there are so many threads and different directions this series can go in if it so chooses.
Covey's children have their entire lives ahead of them, and at least two of them have the makings for compelling stories to explore.
And, of course, the series could easily maintain its time-jumping, non-linear storytelling if it opts to pursue different angles and perspectives from other important characters in Covey's life.

It was an hour that centered the most on the Bennett women.
We've experienced so much of Covey's story in the past that it was time to focus a bit on the family narrative closest to the present.
Black Cake Season 1 Episode 4 shifted much of its focus to giving us more insight into Benny and what happened that fateful Thanksgiving, which changed everything.
By the end of the hour, it was evident that the Bennett women are alike and have a knack for holding onto secrets and carrying the weight of their choices.
The installment also introduced us to peripheral but narratively influential characters with the Bennett siblings' spouses, Steve and Lynette.
We got to know Covey well enough, so it made sense that the story would branch into another direction so we could gain some traction on the Bennett siblings and flesh them out.

Tennis royalty joined the plethora of celebrities in attendance in Paris to watch the closely-contested Rugby World Cup final between New Zealand and South Africa.
Novak Djokovic , who is in France preparing to play the 2023 Paris Masters next week, sat side by side with British singer Rita Ora who was in the company of her husband and New Zealand filmmaker Taika Waititi. The Serbian tennis star was unwinding after holding his first practice session in Bercy.
Roger Federer , who retired from professional tennis in 2022 , and a longtime rival of Djokovic was also in the stands in the jam-packed Stade de France. Federer, spotting a Springboks shirt and scarf, was cheering for the defending champions South Africa.
The Springboks narrowly defeated New Zealand 12-11 to retain their crown and become the first team to win the Rugby World Cup four times. Federer flew with his entire family to Paris including his...

This Yellowstone review contains spoilers.
Yellowstone Season 5 Episode 1 and 2
Yellowstone creator, showrunner, and deity to the cowboy-at-heart, Taylor Sheridan, is often praised for his intense, gritty, and typically crime-driven dramas, yet the prolific writer isn’t recognized enough for his sense of balance. It’s one of the major reasons Yellowstone’s audience continues to grow, even while the show is now entering its fifth and rumored penultimate season, and how it has kept viewers hooked the entire time. Sheridan understands pacing.
Last season started with a literally explosive premiere, as the Duttons were targeted by a then-unknown group of assassins. The Duttons’ youngest son, Kayce (Luke Grimes) chased those who came after him and his family with an indignant vengeance only a Dutton could bring. The season 4 premiere was full of blood, bodies, and bullets and gave viewers exactly what they had been ravenous to see.

Mark Mester, who had previously been the anchor for Ktla’s Weekend Morning News, has been fired after taking issue on the airwaves with how his co-anchor Lynette Romero was recently terminated.
The anchor was reportedly emotional about the limited fanfare given to her departure, which was announced on air three days before his broadcast last Saturday.
Romero departed as the anchor after being given an opportunity at another news network, and the Los Angeles Times said she requested a weekday anchor position at Ktla but was denied.
Since Romero wasn’t given the chance to do a proper on-air farewell, it was left to an emotional Mester who apparently went off-script rather quickly and didn’t hold back.
Mester was supposed to just honor Romero, but instead spoke more directly against the station’s conduct.
“What the viewers experienced was rude, it was cruel, it was inappropriate, and we are so sorry,...
