Richard Ricci(1953-2002)
Richard Ricci was born to parents Dick and Katie Ricci. He had a degree in horticulture and worked at Mitchell's nursery. His hobbies included skiing, gardening, and cooking.
Mr. Ricci was an ex-convict and career criminal. He was arrested on June 14, 2002 on a parole violation. He soon became the prime suspect in the Elizabeth Smart's disappearance. He had worked as a handyman for the Smart family the previous summer. During a search of his residence on July 11, 2002, $3500 worth of goods belonging to the Smarts' was discovered. Mr. Ricci admitted to the theft but denied any involved in Elizabeth's disappearance. Mr. Ricci would never leave prison and died on August 30, 2002 of a brain aneurysm.
