Noah Kahan is back with the latest Stick Season re-release: a fresh cut of “Homesick” featuring a new verse from Sam Fender.
First announced earlier this week, the augmented version of “Homesick” follows a series of duet cuts Kahan has shared commemorating the one-year anniversary of Stick Season’s 2022 release, including collaborations with Gracie Abrams, Hozier, Kacey Musgraves, Lizzy McAlpine, and Post Malone.
Now, the duet version of “Homesick” builds upon the nostalgic reflection of the original thanks to a new verse from Fender, detailing his upbringing in Newcastle, England. In lengthy press statements, the artists explained how the collaboration grew out of a mutual respect that they had for each other.
“I come from a very different place than Sam did… but it felt like I had grown up the same,” Kahan said. “The nostalgia, pride, bitterness, confusion, and anger that Sam wrote about feeling was so similar to...

Some classic rock guitarists are known as much for their instruments as they are for their music. David Gilmour and his Fender Stratocasters fall into that category. The Pink Floyd guitarist amassed a huge collection of instruments he used on the band’s hits and underrated songs. Gilmour owned and played one of the world’s rarest and most coveted guitars, which eventually sold for $1.8 million.

There’s a certain cache that comes with being first at anything, as some internet commenters of the early 2000s would remind you. It’s proof of being someone who got in the elevator at ground level before something exploded in popularity. Gilmour owned what might be the rarest Fender guitar ever, though he wasn’t the first guitarist to play the model.

UK singer-songwriter Sam Fender played the second of two homecoming concerts on Saturday (June 10th) in Newcastle, and he was joined by a special guest for the occasion: AC/DC frontman Brian Johnson.
Johnson took the stage for renditions of the AC/DC classics “Back in Black” and “You Shook Me All Night Long.” Both tunes are from 1980’s iconic Back in Black album, the band’s first LP featuring Johnson, after he replaced the late Bon Scott.
Considering AC/DC haven’t performed since 2016, a cameo from Johnson is a rare occurrence. Fender and company were up for the moment, knocking out joyful, rousing renditions (as seen in fan footage of the concert).
Johnson, in particular, seemed to relish being onstage once again. Back in 2016, he was forced to step away from AC/DC’s US tour due to hearing loss and was famously replaced by Axl Rose of Guns N’ Roses.

Steve Lacy is getting his very own guitar, and it’s a riff on none other than the most popular axe ever: the Fender Stratocaster.
Lacy’s “People Pleaser” Stratocaster, as it’s called, builds on the iconic guitar with a host of special features — all paying homage to Lacy’s one-of-a-kind sound. Chief among these features is a built-in fuzz circuit; use it via an onboard S-...

In a time when most bands are wary of being boxed into a genre, Inhaler are unapologetically indie rock. The Irish four-piece make music that is uncomplicated, hooky and very listenable – if a little commercial. There’s Elijah Hewson’s accomplished vocals, that driving beat, those glimmering guitars and the romantic lyricism. Not for nothing did Inhaler score their first number one with their debut album two years ago.
Since then, their reality has changed and so too has the subject of their songs. Now Inhaler are on record navigating success. Lyrically, their music has become less relatable to their audience – but in fairness, the clue was in the title of It Won’t Always Be Like This. Their follow-up record Cuts & Bruises may not offer anything new to music, but there’s no denying its appeal.
“Just to Keep You Satisfied” is befitting of its name and offers a...

December 12, 2022 – Sam Fender is very pleased to release a new live album, Live From Finsbury Park. The album captures Sam’s scintillating sell-out performance in front of 45,000 fans earlier this Summer in London. As Sam’s biggest headline show to date, and straight off the back of his show-stealing performance at Glastonbury Festival, the Finsbury Park show paid testament to an incredible twelve months for an artist whose rise has been meteoric.
The album is released as a standalone double coloured vinyl through Polydor Records/Universal Music Canada, the country’s leading music company. It also then feature as a “Live Deluxe Edition” of Seventeen Going Under on double CD and include B-sides and the “Live From Finsbury Park” recordings.
Two new tracks feature on the deluxe edition, the recently shared “Wild Grey Ocean” and the previously unheard, “Little Bull of Blithe.” Both tracks were part of the original Seventeen...

Sam Fender has just been announced as one of the headliners for Reading and Leeds festival (9 December).
While sharing the news to his Instagram page, the North Shields artist recalled a story from when he attended Leeds festival 10 years ago as a punter.
During his time attending the festival, Fender told how he was apparently saved from a tent fire by a “young hero from Sheffield“, who urinated on the flames to put them out.
“Little did he know he’d just saved Reading and Leeds’s 2023 headliner,” Fender joked.
Announcing the news alongside a picture of the official line up, Fender wrote: “I first went to Leeds festival 10 years ago as a teenager, me and Deano [childhood friend and guitarist] spent the entire week launching hot dogs out of a gazebo pole at random crowds of lads chanting ‘Yorkshire Yorkshire’.”
“One night I was out cold in my tent from necking a bottle...

When Giovannie Yanez was writing the brooding ballad “The Letter” for the new album by his band Giovannie and the Hired Guns, he kept hearing the voice of Seventies country crooner Freddy Fender in his head. Yanez wanted to sing a verse of his song in Spanish and he figured that if Fender, a fellow Texan of Mexican descent, could do it, so could he.
“I was thinking about ‘Before the Next Teardrop Falls’ and thought, ‘What if I did that?’ And it worked,” Yanez says.

Sam Fender has canceled a selection of upcoming tour dates, citing the need to look after his mental health.
“It seems completely hypocritical of me to advocate discussion on mental health and write songs about it if I don’t take time to look after my own mental health,” Fender wrote on Instagram.
In the post, the musician said that he has “neglected myself for over a year now and haven’t dealt with things that have deeply affected me’, and that ‘my friends and colleagues have been worried about...

Sam Fender has cancelled the rest of his North American tour dates, in order to “look after” his mental health.
The 28-year-old British artist was scheduled to perform in Portland, Seattle, and Vancouver later this month, in addition to supporting Florence and the Machine during a New York concert at Madison Square Garden and a set at the Las Vegas festival Life Is Beautiful.
However, in a recent announcement made on his social media accounts on Monday (12 September), Fender said he will be taking some “time off the road”.

Sam Fender has announced a second headline show at St James’ Park in Newcastle, which will take place next summer on 10 June, following on from his first show on 9 June.
The North Shields singer-songwriter is the first Geordie musician to headline the 55,000-capacity stadium, with Fender calling the gig a “childhood dream come true”.
“Ever since I started this band, I always used to joke with the boys that one day we might play St James' Park in Newcastle,” he said in a statement.
“It's a childhood dream come true, and we're actually gonna play it on the 9th June. This is literally gonna be the biggest show we've ever done - our first stadium show, which is so weird to say! I can't wait, it's gonna be absolutely lush and I hope to see yas all there.”
Irish rock band Inhaler and singer Holly Humberstone have been booked as support acts.

Lollapalooza 2022 kicked off on Thursday in Chicago’s Grant Park with headliners Metallica, Lil Baby, and Caroline Polachek. Like the variety offered at the topline of the fest, the day featured an eclectic mix of music. From TikTok stars to rock royalty and the return of the Kidzapalooza stage for the first time in three years, there was something for every age group on Day 1. And if there was an underlying theme beyond appealing to a wide swath of fans, a handful of artists with famous kinfolk are taking center stage throughout the four-day festival.
