[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for FBI: Most Wanted Season 4 Episode 8 “Appeal.”] FBI: Most Wanted delved into the newest member of the Fugitive Task Force, Special Agent Ray Cannon (Edwin Hodge) in its fall finale, “Appeal.” On the way to work with Hana Gibson (Keisha Castle-Hughes), Ray noticed a woman, Cora (Caroline Harris), arguing with her landlord after he’d raised her rent by 2,000, despite her and her son Caleb (Ja’Siah Young) being model tenants for four years. She didn’t have the money, but while she had five days left on her lease, he was already showing her apartment to prospective tenants. It stuck with him, even as the Fugitive Task Force worked a case, though he wasn’t sure about letting Hana do some digging into the landlord. But armed with the knowledge that the landlord would be facing time in prison if he called friends at the IRS, Ray was able to negotiate a new ...

When "Raising Dion" premiered on Netflix in 2019, it achieved its goal of becoming a beloved kids' superhero show. The series follows the story of widowed mother Nicole (Alisha Wainwright) as she struggles to safely raise her superpowered son, Dion (Ja'Siah Young). While the show's first season depicted a coming-of-age story, season two - which arrived on Feb. 1 - largely focuses on the importance of family and community.
Much has changed for "Raising Dion" since its debut - mostly because of the pandemic, which largely impacted the show's second season. "Covid kind of prevented a lot of what we were used to doing," Wainwright tells Popsugar. "It would've been awful if we had started out that way. But thankfully, we had a foundation from season one where we were doing rehearsals, play dates, stuff in the park, and arcades to kind of help [Young] get comfortable with me."

1. “Inventing Anna” (available February 11)
Why Should I Watch? On paper, “Inventing Anna” represents the kind of idea that’s too good to pass up. Take a true crime story about a duplicitous con artist who infiltrated New York’s elite social scene, ask one of modern television’s most skilled twist-tellers to craft a nine-episode limited series, and bam — you’ve got the tale of Anna Delvey, from super-producer Shonda Rhimes. “Inventing Anna” is actually Rhimes’ first series since “Scandal” where she’s serving as creator, and her first time in that roll on a Netflix show since her massive deal was secured in 2017 (and re-upped in 2021). Expect the hype machine to be in full force for this one.

The Chicago native plays the role of Tevin, Dion's (Ja'Siah Young) new Biona trainer, replacing the young superhero's old mentor and now nemesis, Pat (Jason Ritter), aka the Crooked Man. His character in the family-friendly superhero series is a departure from other roles he's taken on that tackle more mature subjects.
Prior to the series, Flynn has appeared on shows like "How to Get Away With Murder," "Dear White People," and most recently, "With Love." When Season 2 of Netflix’s sci-fi series Raising Dion (based on the comic book of the same name by Dennis Liu) begins, two years have passed since the young superhero in training (Ja’Siah Young) defeated the Crooked Man (Jason Ritter). But when his loving mother Nicole (Alisha Wainwright) says everything is normal, should we believe her? I mean, does she even believe that? “I think human beings, they adapt to new normals all the time,” explains Wainwright. “I think if you constantly feel like your life is in chaos, you can’t settle down and move forward, so, yeah, I think to a degree she’s like ‘This is my new normal!'” Dion, however, is still a kid with superhero powers that need to be trained and explored. So enter new character Tevin (With Love‘s Rome Flynn), a Biona trainer brought in to help Dion get a handle on his capabilities.

Netflix's "Raising Dion" returns for its second season in February, and based on the trailer, it'll be action packed with new allies and old enemies throwing 10-year-old Dion (Ja'Siah Young) for a loop.
The Michael B. Jordan-produced coming-of-age series - based on Dennis Liu's 2015 comic book and short film - will continue to follow Dion as he gets the hang of his superpowers with some help from his new Biona trainer/mentor, Tevin (Rome Flynn), as well as the Triangle of Justice, made up of his friends Esperanza (Sammi Haney) and Jonathan (Gavin Munn).
It's been over two years since the show first premiered on Netflix, meaning it's also been a while since we've seen Dion and his special powers in action. In season one, he was just a regular 8-year-old kid trying to wrap his head around his newfound superhuman abilities, but by the end of it,...

Dion will continue to be raised at Netflix.
The streamer has confirmed Raising Dion has been picked up for a sophomore run mere days after it was announced it was one of the 10 Most Popular Series on Netflix.
Even more promising is that it was named the Most Popular Kids & Family Series release of 2019.
Generally, Netflix makes renewal or cancellation decisions after looking at 28-day viewing data, meaning that most renewals come around one month after shows debut.
With Raising Dion premiering October 4, it was somewhat concerning that the show's fate remained up in the air into the beginning of 2020.
As of now, the second season is slated to span eight one-hour episodes, down from Season 1's 9 episode order.
Carol Barbee will continue to serve as Showrunner for the sophomore run, while Michael B. Jordan, Kenny Goodman, Kim Roth, Dennis Liu, and Charles D. King’s MacRo will return as Executive Producers.

What do you do when you find out you're raising a superhero?
That's the question Alisha Wainwright's Nicole Reese asks herself on the latest Netflix series, Raising Dion.
In essence, the series feels like two different shows that are being forced to go hand in hand, and it's a little jarring.
On the one hand, it wants to be a superhero drama. On the other, it wants to be a family drama, and that's what brings many issues come to the forefront.
It's understandable the creative forces wanted to try something new with the source material, especially in a market littered with superheroes, but it's hard not to wonder if the series would have flowed better as a straight-up superhero drama.
The superhero aspects are intriguing because Ja'Siah Young is a talented young actor who easily brings the character of Dion to life. The character's journey would have been a more rewarding experience,...

With Disney+ on the horizon, Marvel is taking their ball and heading to their new home, leaving Netflix a little light on the superhero fare that has come to dominate cinemas and streaming services. Netflix can’t go without a plethora of America’s current favorite genre for long. Superhero stories resonate with wide audiences for several reasons, mainly because in a world that feels increasingly out of control, all of us want to see justice enacted, for good to overcome evil, and for someone that resembles a regular person like us become a better, more powerful, and more altruistic version of themselves.
The key to that last part is “resembles a person like us,” and though creators are starting to widen their scope to tell more inclusive stories that represent a wider array of identities and experiences,...
