A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, the next Games of Thrones spinoff, is coming together, and George R.R. Martin took to his blog to tease that it will have a “much different tone” from the previous shows.
“The Hedge Knight will be a lot shorter than Game of Thrones or House of the Dragon, with a much different tone… but it’s still Westeros, so no one is truly safe,” Martin wrote. “I hope to visit the shoot come July, when I swing by Belfast on my way to the worldcon in Glasgow. The show will make its debut next year… and if it does well, The Sworn Sword and The Mystery Knight will follow. By which time I hope to have finished some more Dunk & Egg stories.“

HBO has released the first full-length trailer for House of the Dragon season 2 (via SFFGazette.com), and brace yourselves because it's epic. In the newly released footage, we see more of the scheming which continues in Westeros as war beckons between Queen Alicent Hightower and Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen.
The Targaryen civil war known as the "Dance of the Dragons" is nearly upon us and this sneak peek does a phenomenal job of setting the stage for the conflict to come.
All the major players are highlighted, with the sneak peek ending on a suitably epic note as Rhaenyra stands tall with Syrax looming large behind her. Who will prevail? Book readers (and most Game of Thrones fans) will know, but we won't spoil anything here,

HBO’s Game of Thrones universe is expanding once again. Following the success of ‘House of the Dragon,’ a new spinoff titled ‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight’ is gearing up to start filming in 2024. This news comes straight from HBO’s Casey Bloys. While it was initially expected to begin production earlier, the team is still working on casting and writing.
The new series dives into George R. R. Martin’s ‘Tales of Dunk and Egg‘, set about a century before the events of Game of Thrones. It will explore the adventures of Ser Duncan the Tall and his squire, Egg. The show plans to adapt the three novellas: ‘The Hedge Knight’, ‘The Sworn Sword’, and ‘The Mystery Knight’. HBO’s Francesca Orsi mentioned that the show’s lack of dragons means quicker production, thanks to fewer visual effects.
HBO has big plans for this series.

George R.R. Martin recently spilled some beans about the future of Game of Thrones, and it’s looking animated! In his blog post on New Year’s Eve, he couldn’t hide his excitement about several animated spinoffs brewing in the Game of Thrones universe. While these ideas are still waiting for a green light from HBO, Martin seems hopeful. Originally, there were four animated projects on the table, but sadly, two got shelved. The good news? Work on the other two is moving along nicely.
One of these projects is especially intriguing – ‘Nine Voyages.’ It’s all about the Sea Snake, Corlys Velaryon’s epic journeys across Essos. Martin thinks switching this from live-action to animation is a smart move. Imagine the cost of filming those seafaring adventures and creating new ports every week – from Driftmark to Qarth! Animation makes it way easier to bring this vast world to life.
