John Arundel
- Producer
John Arundel has been a media executive and film producer for nearly two decades. After a college internship at Universal Pictures, where he worked in marketing on Steven Spielberg's "Back to the Future" and John Hughes' "Weird Science," he was hard-bitten, making sure he made it to nearly Sundance Film Festival or to Cannes when he could afford the airfare.
Much of his career has been spent in the media as either a journalist or media executive, writing for The New York Times, Miami Herald, USA Today and Washington Post, and later as a publisher of Washington Life magazine and The Alexandria Times newspaper, publications where he had the great fortune to interview such movie greats as Tom Hanks, Steven Spielberg, Clint Eastwood, Bradley Cooper and Angelina Jolie.
In 2015, John turned his efforts to filmmaking as a creative side hustle, joining his college buddy Adam Falkoff at Circle 4 Entertainment in helping to raise funds for such successful indies as "Walt Before Mickey" (2015), "Swing State" (2017), and "The Brawler" (2018), before turning his energies towards his latest projects in development, "The Danish Vet" and "Stealing Elvis," tentatively slated for release in 2022.
Between attempting to never miss a film premiere or latest must-see on Netflix, John's day job is CEO and Managing Director of Washington, DC-based Perdicus Communications, a boutique PR and media strategies firm. He lives with his white lab named "Stryker" (after the pilot in "Airplane") and two amazing kids, who constantly bug him to take them to the movies.
